  1. DA = Drift Australia is on. Both Saturday and Sunday. I know a few of the guys from Aus12 (Gazelle forum) that live over there, and one of them who lives in NSW who is competing. (currently ranked 4th) So i'll be seeing them there and on sat night. A few cars from Holfords are going, myself, a guy who owns a skyline and his missus whom i met at Winton and a few of the NS guys as well. So basicly a long cruise for a motorsport filled weekend
  2. I guess it all comes down to "How much is your time hassle and tools worth"
  3. So it would act like an NA until the Lag was overcome... I'm not sold on the idea... it would be ok as you could get a NA like responce, while you wait for the exhaust to hit the restriction (turbo), then have it spool up... and provide more power. The turbo would also get less "pulse" effect from the exhaust and more linear flow. i would have a guess that it's not a overly huge turbo, and would not be ideal for major power figures. but kudo's for the idea... i'm still agreeing with the afore mentioned flaws though!
  4. Why not use a VQ30det setup on them? Has the cross over at the back and all, will bolt up straight to the VQ35de (exhaust manifolds are the same) And i'd assume that they are in the same location. I have one that i'm going to drop into my track car. But have also done ALOT of research into a TT setup. The VQ30det already has oil squirters, stronger internals, it just lacks the bore. (easily changed down the track) The APS kit is designed for STREET and is INSTALLED!!! so there is no labour costs on your part. It took under a week. I know someone that has the 350Z TT setup and it's crazy good. Smooth power, sounds amazing and looks like it came from factory. There is nothing that they have forgotten in this setup. EG, braided oil lines, fitting, bolts brackets, intake pods, Aluminium single piece bent pipe and perfectly designed exhaust with more than adiquite clearance. All of those components add up to $$ that many of you forget to add to the installation cost. The other kits you mention do not include alot of the extras that this COMPLETE kit supplies. I'm not saying the other kits are not good and i'm sure as hell no salesman for APS, but it's the most proffessional looking kit i've come accross. Check some of these out too. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Portal:Forced_Induction
  5. Yes Ben i am... You interested in joining in? Not many ppl i know are going... but i'll know em by the end of it. 10 or so cars going now.
  6. Looks like a four cars are going at this point. Hope more will decide to come closer to the date.
  7. Started organising this on NS =>http://nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=301227 I would really like to see this happen, whether it be a fund raiser, or just a bunch of enthusiests all banding together to go watch / support mate's in another state. I'm going to go either way, but if it were to happen with 20+ cars at the same time, it would be great for photo's, moral and staying awake with the long drive. At this stage: Meet and greet at 10am at Holford Motors (100 New Street Spotswood) on Friday the 23rd (Have your fuel tanks FULL) CB's will most likely be helpful too... visit dick smiths early. Leave promptly at 10:30am to go direct to Adelaide As with most cruises, everyone in this convoy will be held personally responcible for any fines occured and will not condone any Hoon like behaviour. A large group of cars traveling this sort of distance will no doubt attract attention anyway, lets make it positive. Accomidation to be sorted out by YOU If intereseted just let us know or rock up on the day
  8. +1 for Enkelman. CA18det, brakes, suspension etc all reasonably priced to engineer.
  9. I have an auto... found that the centre driveshaft bearing was F@rked as well as the trans mount. highly likely that's the case. Fixing those will get rid of it. but topping up the trans fluid levels is always helpful. Easiest way to check if the drive shaft bearing and or trans mount is gorn, is jump under and move the shaft and trans around. If they move more than a few mm (max 1cm) either way then look at getting them replaced.
  10. TRD Hilux is da BOM!!! more potential too! BUT toyota australia are taking the reliable conservative road for long term sales rather than high performance "risks". Nissan has been losing % of sales since they dropped the Pulsar badge and are only just getting back up there with the Navara and others holding their ground. The GTR will get ppl into showrooms, but they need to get their reputation back. Not that it's bad now. But they dont have a NEW car that you think, if i had the $$ for a specific purpose thats what i'd get. Eg. Small car, you'd go Mazda or Toyota. Medium car - Toyota Ford Mazda, Large car - Holden Ford, Ute - Toyota Holden Ford... etc Although the larger FWD layout cars are great for a daily driver and build quality is better than Ford or Holdens, ppl in Aus cant seem to look past the whole "Need a RWD" mentality. As for the LF-A it will be aiming at the Merc's, Bimmers and lesser extent Austin Martins etc. I dont think the Lambo and Ferrari are in the league they are aiming at.
  11. Nice car/s. i enjoy not having a "conventional" fast car. CA18det AUTO gazelle. always good to supprise people. I like the 4 door 34's, see a couple getting around now. usually they are flat grey or dark silver though. I remember cleaning my car every 3rd day when i first got her... now it's every 2-3 weeks :S
  12. Anyone got contact details for them? I looked up Knox Auto's in white pages and yellow pages and nothing came up. * Strike that... found it. Knox Automatics Factory 2 / 3, Laser Drive Rowville 3178 03) 9764 2222
  13. *BUMP* Have been contacted by interstaters, which is fine, but rather not have to pay the freight for a lump of steel that big. Anyone local-ish got one? */bump*
  14. Builing up a track car and have aquired most of an R33 rear end to put into it. Only thing missing in the rear department now is the diff cradle, the frame that the control arms bolt up to. (alot of custom work to come yet :s) If you live in melbourne and have a straight one, let me know and i'll come and take it off your hands.
  15. So you wait until i do a sandown track day to roast the car n then you tell me about the skid pan opening up again!!! DAMN YOU!!!! Will get the car running sweet again before i book another skid pan day.
  16. If the diff cradle / rear sub frame is still straight i'll take it. I dont need the diff, nor the control arms. How much just for that? If the chassis is getting scrapped, can i get the mounts out of the floor too?
  17. Beats my 1:42's last sat. Though i never got a 100% clear run *shakes fist* Still had a blast though. Now time to fix the damage from the heat stressing :s Barry Brae should have his other engine in next time and be clocking better than his 1:18's next time Sports Sedans are where it's at!

    Nos

I do not have documented proof, but asking for curiosity sake a TMU police officer and a NOS supplier in victoria and them both saying the same thing is enough for me.

Can have the setup, cannot be connected or quickly connected. Otherwise some snap on air line connections could be used. Basicly if you have to get a shifter to put it on then your fine.
  20. Had a great day... just have to load the photo's up... Anyone get pics of my Gazelle? The Silver one with the orange engine bay The silver R33 GTR was NUTS!!! There seemed to be more than a few Skylines there all doing rather well... It was interesting to see the different stages how the different cars went. Great day besides the heat... Now to sort out the issues that arrose from pushing it in those temps :s
  21. I think it's just a way of keeping the build up of pressure more even into the intake plenum. If it were further back in the pipe scheme it would allow it to spike just that little bit more. I doubt it makes that much difference, but it probably would help the longevidy of the engine a little.
  22. Woohoo, dregraded from 35 deg C to only 30 still :s Cars in to get the steering fixed today, get a tower brace and should be getting the bonnet pins on tonight, i'll be buying a fire extinguisher tonight too... just in case to worst happens :s Was fitting an exhaust to a mate's S13 who's going, till midnight last night. So much to do, so little time.
  23. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT... Will be very interested to see how the car holds up.
  24. Do you have the rear diff cradle? Dont need the control arms, just need the cradle the diff bolts to. Possibly the diff as well if for the right price. I assume its for a Hicas model? Live in Melb so can do pick up if available.
  25. Bus set up the last few weeks both mid week and weekends: North Road Caulfield South / North Brighton Right near Nepean Hwy, opposite BP near Panasales. Never seen defect's beeing handed out, but have seen a rather large littering of cars there the following morning a couple of bombs with yellow stickers on the windscreen.
