I'll edit this and post them up when i'm home from work (if i can find them) Was 230rwkw from memory when it was first done about 2 years ago, on about 14psi on a softish tune Now it's been sharpened up a bit and had splitfire coils added, 16-17psi and just over 250. Feels a lot better in the midrange, though. Really comes on song at 3500rpm thereabouts. I'm told that cams will add around 10+rwkw to the equation with a noticeably beefier midrange, but that's a fair whack of cash for not that many extra horsies. I too would be interested to see what others have done - i know there are GT-RS's out there pushing much bigger numbers than i am!!   4. Nismo 555's will go straight in and be more than up to the task (well on the R33 they do anyway, i can't vouch for R34s) You don't need coil packs unless yours are stuffed. I had the stockies for over a year, developed a worsening missfire, went for Splitfires and picked up a few kw along the way - so maybe mine weren't quite up to scratch to start with. You have a newer car so hopefully it shouldn't be an issue. Log on to Nengun/Greenline etc and have fun shopping
  5. I think as a general rule with the correct supporting mods, GTRS 240-260kw, 2835 ProS 260-280. Any other takers?

Another happy GTRS person here Response is awesome, I've got mates with bigger turbos on various different flavours of car, and on anything other than the drag strip mine is the quicker all-round package. not quite the same "shove in the back" factor though. If i had the choice again, I'd probably go with the 2835 ProS for the few extra $$, but that's just because i'm used to the power now. re: GCG Vs GTRS - I researched this a lot, and i'm sure a lot of others have too.. at the end of the day the power outputs are similar enough to be the same; the GTRS maaaay be a wee bit more responsive, but there's really nothing in it. But remember on the RB25 with that sort of power you're really pushing the limits of the stock injectors, and the stock AFM. You'll find quite a lot of the guys with these, and larger turbos, have done the PowerFC/Injectors/AFM/Fuel pump upgrade gig. edit : yep, i've got fuel pump / injectors / AFM / coilpacks / ECU etc ,run up to 17-18psi (but 15psi day to day) but i DO know of a guy with a GTRS with just a SAFC and no other supporting mods.. he's had it over a year now with no dramas. yet.
  7. I'm on a similar roster... my life revolves around 13 hour shifts, 7 days in a row, then 7 days off, then 7 nights in a row, then 7 days off... rinse and repeat. That's as a public hospital doctor in Melbourne. (intensive care) If you want to experience the constant thrill of feeling jetlagged, come do what i do! (actually i quite enjoy it. but it can kick your social life in the a$$ sometimes.)

One of the bestestest CRTs out there if you care to read the reviews (as i did before i bought it) 2 years old. Only selling it as i recently moved to widescreen LCD Can be had on staticice/shopbot for $450-550 Will happily sell for $250 Melbourne only pls - shippinog would cost a small fortune!   9. I was crew for *gasp* one of the EVO 8's (we came 11th in the Trussme car) Great weekend. Bloody cold. Couldn't get over how quiet that R32 was! quite possibly the most sedate exhaust i've heard on one in a while - proof you don't need a milo tin hanging off the back to go fast

Selling it for his dad? or possibly the car belonged to the kid, was driven by the kid, maintained by the kid, and the rego is in dad's name so the insurance can be in dad's name and the kid can save some $$$? I'd want at least a faxed (signed) letter from the father allowing the kid to sell the car and act as a proxy, and DEFINATELY talk to him on the phone and make sure it's all kosher. in all honesty though, i'd put my money on the car actually belonging to the son, and it was just registered in dad's name to make insuring it easier! my 0.02c
  11. Unless you already have them, you'd be better off getting the PFC/Injector/GTRS kit from nengun (find it in the "product promotions" section). It's around $4K and easy to install yourself if you're half handy with a spanner. This turbo is right on the edge of the stock afm / injectors ... to get the most out of it and for security you really need to look at a Z32AFM and either injectors or a fuel reg. And yes *cough*search*cough* the lag is pretty much the same as stock, very responsive on the street, a great mild/moderate upgrade in turbo terms You may not quite make the 250rwkw; get the 2835proS is you want that guaranteed.. but you'll come damn close if you don't. I'm very happy with mine.
  12. i had this problem.... if you email hotmail support with all the details of your account they will reset your pasword for you within a day or two. you will need to know : the folders in your account, when last accessed by you, how many times a week it is accessed, and the IP address(es) you normally access it from. They had me sorted within 24 hours last year with the same problem.
  13. Are you timing with a G-Tech device or just using a stopwatch and the speedo? Anyways; two reasons: 1) Larger wheels = slower acceleration. This is why a lot of the top drag cars don't use massive diameter rims. and, 2) if you are timing using a stopwatch and your speedometer - your new 19" wheels have a larger rolling diameter, so 100km/h on your speedo is really more like 110km/h in reality, and obviously it will take a fraction more time.
  14. 34 degrees, to be precise I like to think i didn't care what power figure i got, but to be honest i was not too happy with the weatherman's prediction that day and yes... Nengun/Greenline - look at their prices before you start worrying about the lack of 2nd hand GTRS's
  15. ^ i pulled 251 on a different dyno (friend of a friend works on commo's a lot in his shop and has one). And as i said, people are making a reliable 260rwkw on that turbo, different cars, different dyno, different day. I don't have aftermarket cams, maybe some of those do? For what it's worth, a friend's ~260rwkw 200SX runs neck and neck with my lowly 230kw. He gets a fatter number on his dyno sheet. I still manage to sleep soundly at night.
  16. comes on boost around 3000, full boost (15psi in my case) by ~3500, dies off around ~6500. Lag is about the same as the stock item, obviously slightly more, but you're never caught lagging out of corners etc...
  17. Back when i was looking at power graphs etc... they seemed to range from 230-260rwkw for the most part, with the occasional freak 290 or so. one guy has over 300! You'll be right on the cusp of needing injectors (i did mine) or a fuel reg and a Z32afm (i also did this). Much of a muchness between the GTRS and the GCG Hiflow. very happy with my choice. good luck!

  19. You mean chip it? I thought you couldn't reprogram the R33/34 ECU's, only the 32's? I think you'd need to look at a piggyback/chip setup.
  20. look here and here Nsta - i don't just use a heat shield, i have the pod in a sealed box, the only opening is the large hole at the bottom. As that hole is the only way for air to get in to the box, i don't see why you need a pipe to help it get there? the stuff is generally fairly good with finding directions That said, lots of guys use pipe. I figured that the air below the airbox (just under the hole) is under pressure anyway - if you're moving forward, air comes through the front bar and hits the plastic guard that sits on front of the tyre (the grill that stops mud etc getting on the back of your old side mount intercooler). So the air would head into the airbox with the sucking filter, as it's the path of least resistance. standard hole is about 2-2.5" diameter. Might be a bit small and cause a restriction? i don't know - someone must study flow dynamics on here!!??
  21. I used the same hole saw i used for the FMIC piping install to make it a bit bigger, and then drilled another hole right next to it, so there's about a 3" by 5" hole. did taht make sense? I've seen a lot of pvc pipe used. I don't use any pipe at all - it's still sucking cold air from outside the engine bay, as long as you have a sealed box setup. i just didn't see the point of an "air ram" when you're already running a compressor after the filter anyways...
  22. With that turbo you would probably need injectors and a fuel pump to be safe, and also a Z32 AFM. I think you'd be right at the limit of the standard AFM and/or injectors at that power level, and probably won't see the best out of your new turbo. Why not just wait until the turbo is in; put the PowerFC in then and only get it tuned once and save yourself some money?? I doubt you'd need to lower compression at all. Cams will net you maybe ~15kw extra, is it worth nearly $1000 to you? Clutch - i'd look at a 9-puck or similar, but that's just my opinion. Still nice and driveable on the street. (The dollars start adding up quickly if you want to do it properly!)
