How tall are you guys with R33 GTS-T's?
Beeble replied to a topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
6'5" and i don't touch the roof. tried one with a sunroof and it was a no-go, but i've not had any probs with my normal-ceilinged car mind you every now and then i get out and my friends say my hair has turned into some sort of lop-sided mohawk heheheeh (i never feel it though!) YOU'LL BE FINE!!!!!!!! -
try http://www.rtec.ch/dsbc_manual.html

yeah it works fine as is. erm... is it a good idea to put a screw in it???? and yeah i blocked off the vacuum hose that Tee's into the BOV pipe. trying to decipher the diagrams in the jap instructions is a wee bit tricky.... thanks for the help ppls, Beeb

the VL commodore K&N fits like a glove, just upside down! off the nissan 3L engine, should be abt $100 from pretty much anywhere. as Zahos said.....

From what i've heard and read it's best to have gain a little lower (this helps eliminate boost spiking) and ratio a little higher (for max boost level). maybe gain around 15 and adjust boost to suit? not from personal esperience though, i'm hopefully installing the same unit on the weekend running up to around 0.8bar should be safe....

Make sure you get what you paid for!

same problem! on the freeway all is well, but accelerate to just over 120 and the steering wheel shakes. seems to go away above about 140. sent it in for wheel balance (it was aligned 2 months ago with no difference) and absolutely NO change. it's not that bad, just noticeable, and annoying in what is otherwise a smooooth car to drive. grrrr..... -
hi... for what it's worth i got this kit on my car a few months ago, made the world of difference. genuinely happy with the $$$ spent, the handling is excellent and no complaints. one word though - i hear that bilstein aren't making the shocks for R33's any more, i had to wait 7 weeks for them to come from germany and apparently that was part of the last shipment. maybe a few places have stock in reserve though. good luck!

geees you get up early rob! just try the shorting out method - takes 2 seconds with a paperclip, the engine check light on dash will light up and flash the diagnostic code at you, and you're away! tucked up above the main dash fuse panel.....
-
or reset using the grey plug that hides up under the dash... pull the cover off the fuse panel to the right of the steering wheel and use a small piece of wire to short out the ECU diagnostic port and reset it. no battery disconnecting required

Yep Taka's is quick and easy... and about the cheapest i've found for most electronic bits and pieces. if only i had more money

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?
Beeble replied to two40's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Actually they're in Subi!! my bro is 21 and just got insurance on a silvia with them (wearing a recent at-fault accident) so you shouldn't have any troubles give robyn a call and she should be able to sort you out, very competitive quotes and i don't know of them knocking back too many ppl good luck! -
Compliers wanting to buy stock import parts
Beeble replied to GTS-t VSPEC's topic in Western Australia
I have stock wheels, springs, shocks, sway bars, and very soon a full exhaust less cat converter. oopps edit sorry will PM you -
Just got my suspension done at WA Suspension, guy there called Brad really knew his stuff. (talked to wilkinson's too they were also excellent with their advice) Prices similar, but WAS is close to me in Osbourne Park, i now am the proud owner of a full whiteline kit, bilsteins are on a boat coming over, and already it's a totally different car to drive. recommended! p.s. anyone want old sway bars or chopped standard springs?
-
near mcdonalds charles st. actually gf's place, i'm an unofficial full-time resident btw think i have a full car already, so unless you want to hide in the boot.........
-
while we're at it... anyone up for an unofficial SAU Meetup at this crazy shindig? would be nice to put some faces to nicks. i'll be a tall white guy in a black RTRFM fisherman's hat (as opposed to normally, when i'm a short rasta dude wearing a sombrero). p.s. i realise this is usually all too hard
-
hmmmm driving from north perth into town..... somehow i doubt too many ppl will be "on the way"
-
or just get industry tickets like most ppl seem to have these days and lose the booking fee and the rip-off price! anyways, this forum has something to do about cars doesn't it?? um, erm, i'll be driving there tonight. in my skyline. there, feeling better about getting things on track heheheeh
-
hehehehe join the club! huuuge night last night, work 15 hours today and then 2 tribes tonight. and all the crew at work telling me i look like @#$%. hope no-one gets to see me monday morning then hangover cure - dunno, personally i reckon you can't go past lots of water, some vitamins, and a lot more sleep.......
-
Have to agree with Rev here - after sticking in a S-AFC and spending about half an hour looking like a #$%^head on the freeway and other main(ish) roads, you can tune these things pretty darn well. A very noticeable difference, but mostly more "driveable" power, which when you face it is what most of us really want. squeezing those extra few kW while wringing its neck at 7000rpm is all well and good, but i think you can get a decent result without jumping on the dyno. p.s. i want that ECU!!
-
personally i reckon you can't beat newspaper and a splash of metho...... just go steal some from the nearest hobo *apologies to all hobos for the stereotyping*
-
yeah genie (whom i believe you went to?) seem keen on those, which is where i was thinking of going up until i heard about Jash's pipes. seems to really know his stuff. as does nearly everyone i've called; damn them for having slightly differing opinions!! thanks for the help guys
-
Rob - yeah thanks i'd appreciate that. will PM you. (vaguely) on topic - getting dump done at same time. have discussed this with quite a few of the shops mentioned in this thread, as yet can't make up my mind on separate wastegate pipe or all-in-one. stock turbo/coola/safc/10-12psi(soon!) i hate decisions... thoughts??
-
Was looking at one of those C Red N1 style systems, but worried about "the drone"... i love the sweet burble a line gets with a decent zorst, but that annoying freeway raquet can be a killer on long trips. looking at getting dump done as well, are these systems loud?
-
Yep i agree with the above, did wonders for my car once it got off the boat... they have a full cut polish and also a middle-of-the -road one which isn't quite so abrasive, i think it's called a "cleaner" or something to remove dirt/grime and oxidised paint. crystal finish somethingorother. ah heck you'll find it!
-
one other question!!! when you setup the Safc II, it asks you about "pressure", there's about 4 settings for this. what setting do you use?
