Ok i have ARC welded before but i am a total noob to MIG/TIG welding i am looking at researching and learning/teachimg myself i have others in the fab business who have taught me how to spot weld and will also teach me how to TIG and MIG BUT... i am so confused about what is what. ARC is the stick MIG is that wire feed? what is TIG maybe i getem mixed up. Also isnt Oxy's in there somewhere. i was also told i could weld alloy with a teflon tip on a MIG welder i sthis true. is gasless better then gas?
  4. i can get a hold of a pretty neat 77 corolla 4 door so im thinking this car could be my 1st rebuild project i got some great ideas but want to ask a few people 1st see what opinions and ideas you have i know it isnt a nissan though i do own a R33 but i didnt know to many toyota sites only toymods which i couldnt get my head around. So these are my objectives for the car. Street semi race track car = keep reliable and steady. so i was looking at 1st putting a 16v or 20v in and replace the EFI with quads or twin carbs though thinking it woul use my NA choice of motor to full capacity with a Carbie on the side im guessing EFI is probley the BEST way to go also stuffing with dizzy and stuff to get the firing happenin. Now i dont want anything with more then 4 cylinders i havnet checked with engineers to see how big i can go but i have also though about the 2700cc Hilux engine which is very strong and can be turboed without many hasles. Now call me crazy but these are probley already been done and alotta info out there about them and that is good but i have come up with an even better more crazy idea...... EJ20 or 25 turbo with a custom bellhouse Gbox RWD it should fit np and actully should be shorter in length then then a 4AGE or 2.7lt i forgot th ename already. this will give me awesome chasis balance of course i will have to do alot of mods like sump and stuff but what you guys think yes i am on a budget but this is a project over a few years what you guys think hit me up. Or if you guys know of any good sites that canb help me please add links.
  5. well i dont have a boot release and i dont have an alarm chirp aswell which i think is good.

  7. This engine is also out of a Nissan ARMADA 04-05 5.6L V8 DOHC its a 4WD or SUV wateva you want to call it probley weighs a fair bit aswell claimed 317Hp 385 LB-FT Torque.

  12. hmmm then maybe it isnt a factory alarm i will get a pic when i can i just moved house and havnet found my cables to hook the cam up soz
  13. ok im sure the alarm in my R33 is standard and i have a dongle with 2 buttons on it i have never used the 2nd button on the 1st 1 it is black and like a kidney shape with 2 grey buttons with an LED in between the buttons features are turbo timer and imobolizer cent lock. I have no ideahow to use or config this alarm at all can anyone post a pic or manual ?
  14. Kool as but yer the other half is still on the motorway lol. so basically have them look like carbon fibre. is there a Non Genuine Version?
  15. was driving on the M5 last week and 110kmh and my drivers side windshield guard flew off and hit me in the face snap it clean in half now i have lost the metal clip that goes into the body on that piece aswell where can i buy another 1 or set of thse how much and will sikaflex hold them in place once again i notice my passenger side is cracked aswell i think the previous owner was a big guy and used to grab there 2 get out as the steering wheel was busted aswell and i had 2 replace.
  16. well thats good to take on board i wouldnt buy the turbo just to recon it that would be a waste but im guessing these are a waste of time.
  17. This sounds like it to me as i was using my heater last time i ran the car before this heating in the footwell so ill give that a try thanks guys.
  18. well my car is full stock apart from Nismo 3 inch and a pod i put on i dont think there is any holes i will check though what about thermal blanket underneath?
  19. i only noticed yesterday how hot my footwell gets in my R33 i checked all my temps and they were all good but it just seems so hot in the car yes i checked heater and that isnt on as i have the whole console off it seems to be located in the footwheel towards the trans tunnel. is this normal or should i be worried its like im sweating if i have long pants on and almost burning in shorts. sounds strange right?

  23. looking at buying one of these cheap turbos off ebay they are $700 or so GT35R internal gate is what has me thinking of getting it and price i dunno if its decent for price or whatever but its so called 500HP rating .63 AR is what is catching my eye. Has anyone used these turbos or are they not worth getting involed with or even if i bought one and got say garret to check it out or somthing. would it be good for an RB25 im guessing spool up time would be very close to a standard RB25 T3 and internally gate would mean less piping and being able to retain standard manifold.
