Pay and enter. Couldn't you tell by the quality of driving haha. No street level or pro comp. If you're interested in comps, spend money on a powerful car. Practise, experience and good skill doesn't get you far. I know it shouldn't be like this but it is reality. Drivers with good skill and a good car are very few.

Hello there, It is good to hear that you are interested in drifting. There are a few practise days at Wakefield, held by various groups and clubs. I am associated with Initial Drift Australia and turn up to their days. Unfortunately they only have been able to book 4 days for this year (2 have already been run). Raceline/Stadium drift have two weekends of drifting, which include a competition. One has just passed in May, the next will be in November. It may sound like a lot of time, but they accept up to 90 cars and also add the competition drivers (20-30). Max recommended is just over 60 cars at Wakefield. Hit and Run Drift Club and Revolution Motorsports run weekday drifting capped at 20 to 25 people. You will get maximum track time at these days but it is a weekday and costs $20-$50 more. If you have never drifted before, I would recommend going to a Skidpan day, either here in Canberra or in Sydney. Joggers are fine for most low level/entry level events. If a higher level of clothing (race gear) is required, they will normally advise that to all entrants. A lot of people wear those light puma shoes but I prefer something a little larger.

Friday Night At Grevillea Park
StinkyPoo replied to Viper_r32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Myself, Jake and a few other guys went looking for another Friday night meet spot for winter and rainy nights. We found a possibility and planning on trying it this Friday night. It's at one if the ANU carparks, so it is publicily accessible but a owned area. It has electricity which was turned on and we could setup our own gas heating. We went to the third level, which is not visible from ground level. The entranced marked on the map is the second level and there is a small speed bump on the ramp between levels. There are no residents around, however you can only drive in and out one way due to a mega speed bump on the lowest entrance. The really low cars can park on the outside carpark and also can be used if gates are up on the carpark (the multilevel area is still accessible by a stair well). ANU security may ask us to move on but we will cross that bridge when it comes to it. The outside carpark -
Mitsubishi Lancer, '00, 168xxx kms, AirCon, Power Steering, Automatic, CD/DVD/USB player (no screen), 17inch wheels with near new Federal Evo tyres. Has a fair few bumps and scratches on the body from the previous owner but is mechanically good. Plates/rego are not included but should pass Roadworthy (can help out with rego). $2700ono or a good box trailer + cash.

Need Your Votes To Go Drifting!
StinkyPoo replied to StinkyPoo's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Good work guys and gals! We're currently in second place. Keep the votes coming so we can maintain this lead. -
There is, it's the Vehicle Standard Bulletins. Then each state or territory has their own set of guidelines and rules reflecting their own legislation and policy.

Where do people get all this information from?!?!?!? My friend works at Vehicle Safety Standards and writes the bulletins, and he hasn't heard of so much of the stuff is passed around.

Accident X2? - Tuggers Expressway This Morn
StinkyPoo replied to Sinista32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I usually only rage when people: - Drive slow in the right hand lane or don't overtake - Overtake and slow down - Take a shortcut and drive slow (Lady Denman Drive) Driving slower in the left hand lane is okay (not ridiculously slow though). Basically driving needs to be predictable. You can a shortcut to get some where quicker. -

I don't care if I'm late to work . During the jam this morning, the lady behind me didn't want to let cars merge and sat right on my bumper. So I stopped and let a whole bunch in front of me hahahaha -

My boss was directly behind the second guy that was hit. First one (closer to hindmarsh) was just dumb arses in the right hand lane. The second one was a scooter rider vs car. My boss was directly behind the bike/scooter overtaking in the right hand lane. In the left lane, there was a bank of car stuck behind one of those slow moving diggers. As the scooter guy was overtaking, the lady in the left hand lane abruptly changed lane into the bike and pushed him into the concrete barrier. Some how the car didn't notice straight away and kept driving for a little bit, mean while the scooter guy is bouncing around between his bike and the barrier. By the time I went past, he was on the ground not looking well. -
I think maybe the request should be for a honest place. I know of a few shops that have charged a customer for "repairs" that were not necessary and only said it failed to make money.
-
Ahh okay. I've only got my own spare. I did have a few locks and I know how to change them.

IMO, 8k is too much for a R33. There might be a guy selling for 5.5k in Gungahlin (R33, Ohlins, piggyback, FMIC, Catback, low Kms). I haven't been out there in a while. I made a lower offer but he got back to me after I bought 2x R32's for even less haha.

They have the most useless posts, even on their own website - http://www.racelineevents.com/raceline/ Pretty sure it's $20. And there are a few spots left if you want to drive.

What's broken on the barrel? I have a couple of things here that might fix the problem.

I think last time SAU used the "Highway" circuit type thing at the back and the wet skidpan. MGCCC can get the maneuvering area because of some connections they have to the facility. They also are not allowed to run on certain parts of the pad. Sydney isn't far away. I have been and will probably go again, but not as much as I previously did. I'm getting old and work interferes with fun.

Old thread > *Copy*, New thread > *Paste* The MG Car Club of Canberra will be holding round 1 of their regular Motorkhana series at the Sutton Road Driver Training complex Sunday, 26 May 2013. For those that don't know, Motorkhana is a timed event normally held on a large flat surface, like a carpark, with a number of cones defining parts of the circuit. At the start of the day, drivers are given a several maps and need to drive as fast as they can through the designated course. The quickest way around the course is to be smooth and retain the most amount of traction but some people do decide to slide around the track. It's not the quickest but definitely a fun to do it and a good show to watch. The organisors do not mind if you do this as long as you stay to the course and stay in control of your car. This is probably the closest thing to legal drifting that Canberra has available. Contact the MGCC Sporting Secretary if you are interested in competing - http://www.mgcccanberra.org.au/Committee/Committee.htm Passengers are allowed but you will need to fill out a indemnity form on the day.

Lol, The MG Car Club of Canberra run four every year. I go to everyone that I can make. There is one coming up this month, which I'll start a thread about for your information. I have been the SAU TEXI both here in Canberra and in Sydney. The local one is great because it's local, unfortunately they can no longer use the maneuvering area. The Sydney one is great because it's so big and not as tight on restrictions. Reece sets up a well flowing course but I wouldn't recommend getting to serious about it, even if it is a competition. It would be great if we could run something like this in Canberra but there are too many restrictions. This is something we all need to voice to our local government people in a constructive way.

I only browse the ACT section. Other sections make me angry haha.

Friday Night At Grevillea Park
StinkyPoo replied to Viper_r32's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Sell it in NSW with a RWC. Track R33's are cheap, 1.5k-2k depending on condition/parts. -
It's really not that difficult. And it's the start of someone bailing. All that really needs to be done for events is start a thread and write, where, when, how much. If you need examples, I have a bunch on the R31 Skyline Club in past events >> http://forum.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?board=42.25
