    Youth Hostels

Hello, A bunch of us are aiming to go to Japan in August, trying to keep our budget low and see some Dori. Just wondering what your experience/recommendations with particular youth hostels are? I've been to: Shin-Osaka - Awesome, I think it even has AC. Kyoto - Worst ever Nikko (dunno which one) - Average Sasebo (I think, it's really far west) - Good, very nice friendly people Hakata (not sure about this one, it was more like a hotel but 1/3 the price) - Good, single room with everything, costs more than the others but I don't think it's a hostel.... Trying to find more info on places around Ebisu, Tokyo, Nagoya and Koichi. I have no idea what's close to Ebisu, if there are any places there. I got lucky and stayed in a hotel in Tokyo last time, but had to spend an extra night in a run down place for the same price . I stayed in a Ryokan the time before, that was awesome but I can't find it again. It was right down/up from Tokyo Dome. Anyway, any of your experiences or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
  2. I think you need to be a paid member of SAU. Sounds like invitation only.
  3. We waited till 10:30am and got hungry....
  4. I spoke to James about this, I'll probably come and watch. No drifting is no fun .
  5. Yeh, Ebisu circuit is considered as Drift Mecca. I'm planning to head over there in August this year with some other local drifters. We're planning to watch Drift Matsuri/Festival, D1GP, MSC and some other event. If any of you guys are interested, please let me know.

  8. You've been told.......... and Northside SUX!!!!
  9. Why wait for a circuit *yawn* day ! Drifting is on this Monday at Oran Park 13 April!
  10. Got max of 236rwkw in front of my RB20DET box. I go drifting and 2nd gear syncro is getting worn. I have to change gears slowly now until i change the syncro's. I figure, I can break three RB20DET boxes before it costs me 1 RB25DET box.
  11. Meh, I can't stop anyone, it's a public cinema. I know Quakin is bringing a crap box . I guess the only thing I want to avoid is attention......... I can not edit my first post but I would suggest everyone arrives atleast 30mins before the movie (before 9pm), seeing it's the first tuesday since opening.
  12. Wow, didn't such a positive response. List: - Stinkypoo - ZCR - Ex!$t3nZ - TURISMO - INVRTD - DaN-E - Quakin - DriftGTS - Trozzle
  13. FAST and Furious - Movie night - Tuesday 21/04/09 Hoyts Cinema's in Woden. Timing will be 9:30pm. I was hoping for a 8pm~ish session but doesn't seem to be available any day. There is a 7:15pm session but I think this is too early(???). Post if interested, I'm probably going regardless.

  15. FYI, I think the guys from Canberra Cruise might drive by tonight.
  16. Check on here: http://forum.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?topic=123760.0 I don't know if it is going ahead, but it's rather close now.......... Easter is next week. It will not suit everyone, a date and time just needs to be set and go from there. If they turn up, they turn up! if they don't, they don't.
  17. Shut up! Shut up! you guys a ruining it!
  18. Yeh, I don't think many cops would pick on you cos it's soo easy to remove a FMIC. Anyways, here is the section of text: 1.1 MODIFICATIONS NOT REQUIRING CERTIFICATION • Fitting a replacement new, used or reconditioned engine. • Fitting a manufacturer’s optional engine together with any associated components as supplied by the manufacturer for that same model vehicle. • Fitting replacement original equipment (or equivalent) engine and exhaust components. • Fitting replacement original equipment, equivalent or better, components that have no influence on engine performance or emissions. (e.g. higher volume oil pump than original) In all of the above cases, if the engine is modified, it must be certified under the relevant Approval Code. 1.2 MODIFICATIONS REQUIRING CERTIFICATION UNDER LA APPROVAL CODES • Fitting equivalent engines (within 20% of original power and engine mass). • Fitting performance engines. • Installing a supercharger or turbocharger. • Modifying engines and engine components.
  19. From what I read (my interpretation) any mod that increases the performance(I guess they mean power) or emission of the car needs to be certified unless it was a option for that model.
  20. I haven't noticed a difference between any 98 fuel except Woolies fuel (and those private ones united, gull, etc).
  21. Nope, wasn't worth it for me.... i think it would have been a $4 saving and cost me $1.50 + time to get to a Shell Servo.
  22. Video!!! Now someone do me!
  23. I have footage. I just finished uploading the footage to my computer. Just need to chop it up and upload it to youtube. If i ever have a get away car, i'll make sure reese is my driver .
  24. i've got a dyno print out for my RB25det with 236rwkw... I'm pretty sure the engine has had no mods, and i've been drifting, hillclimb, motorkhana with this car.
