  1. Sprinters are way too expensive for a daily driver. You have to pay takumi tax on every AE86 part you buy. I drive another R31 as my daily. R31's are good, nice reliable engines. A few other parts are so so but there are so many parts around. Economy isn't not good because it is not a small engine or a small car, but I believe it gets compensated by the abundance of parts and ease of maintenance (as well as a car with a tow bar). I did (sorta still do) have an Astina, good on petrol but was kinda expensive to replace things. The initial cost of the car was alot more than a R31 and didn't like taking abuse.
  2. I'm currently looking to change jobs.
  3. Can you pm me you number so we can arrange a time to have a look??
  4. Whats provided for the fee (licence, food, training, session types)? $150 is a bit of money for it to be run on a friday.
  5. Is is more like squeal like a whistle or a squeal like a zing? A leaking turbo gasket i fixed was making a whistling sound. I guess it's hard to tell without looking at it first hand.
  6. + 1 vote for either bent fins or bearings collapsing.
  7. I'm sort of after 4.11 ratio to make 3rd gear drifts easier until i get better.
  8. Do they come with rails? If so, are they standard height or lowered. Is the back adjustment system different to the current copies at just jap? Are you negotiable?
  9. The design is good, but it does look a little busy/complicated for a banner (and a little dark). You might be able to run a black border around the picture, instead of a complete black background. It would be easier on the eyes as it keeps the picture in focus and out of the stitching/holes.
  10. 2 by 1 meter is huge. The R31 banner I had at Marques in the Park was only 1.5 by 1 meter. It also gets heaver and the cost goes up steeper the bigger you get. The top banner is good, but a Canberra based background would look excellent and would look like it conforms with the rest of the club. I think the ford club has a parliament house symbol in their banner already.
  11. What ratio are the gears?
  12. Cheap rims are normally heavier, as they are made of different type of alloy. Due to the mass of the rim, it takes more torque to get moving (slower acceleration), more difficult to turn (something to do with centrigual force). Because of the type of alloy, the rims are less forgiving to incidents and seem to crack, rather than give.
  13. Nah, Time attack is okay. Any track time is extra XP (experience points). We did it before on the AE86 festival day at wakefield. There were some "accidental" powerslides in some corners. I heard Wakefield is resurfacing their track around now and wasn't going to be available till Feb/March or something.
  14. 1. You forgot the R31 Skyline club If it's a weekend, atleast two members will be keen... That is if it doesn't coincide with a drift day.

  16. Have you upgraded since the teins, cos I remember they were in it then. Trying to arrange everyone in a particular way most likely won't work, what with the amount of comings and goings there tends to be. Rows and back to back with someone else would probably work best, at least that's what I've noticed from past years. It'll probably be really tight if there's going to be more cars. Probably try to stick with two rows, side by side, back to back, that way people can come and go. I can even bring a string if you really want to make it pefectly lined up, like the japs do. If your really tricky, you could even try and put an angle on the cars!
  17. You guys reckon they'd accept the idea for a few drift sessions?
  18. I made it back from the track without crashing so I'm in.
