FYI, there is a guy driving a R34 down from Dubbo to visit tonight. -
Next Sunday is the first Motorkhana that the MG Car Club of Canberra run for the year. It is the only Motorkhana event run in the ACT and one of the very few motorsport events that is available to us locally. A few members of this forum have been competing in the event for a number of years. If you want to start getting into Motorsport, this is a good first event. There is very little car requirements and you don't need any special mods to enter. People drive the most average looking cars in this event. You will need a road registered car as unregistered cars are no longer allowed. Also there is a strict noise limit. Event details Date: Sunday, 30 March 2014 Cost: $40 License required: CAMS L2NS + CAMS membership (Sign up to SAU NSW before the day or join the MG Club) $50+$60? Not sure on the cost Location: Sutton Road Driver Training Complex Entry form: Please email the MGCCC Sporting Secretary, Kent Brown - sporting@mgcccanberra.org.au

Kids On Yamba Dr (Wednesday Night)
StinkyPoo replied to GT-5732's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Had a it happen twice a long time ago when I was driving my mum's car. Once on Athlon and the other time at the Monaro highway. I actually found the kids on Monaro but they were so young. I reported to the Police, they turned up but nothing happened. And my Mum was being a retard about it so I didn't pursue it any further. I would really blame the parents but they'll blame some one else. Seems to be that way these days. -
One of my mates previously worked at Vehicles imports at Dept of Infrastructure blah blah blah. He said it is a very shit process and pretty much up to the person working through the applications to decide how long they take. He came across a number of cases where if it was up to him, they would be approved but because of a paper work error or the process of application was incorrect, they would be sent back to start all over again. He mentioned a person that had imported a mobility scooter (or something) for the elderly that wasn't approved due to process and was sent away to apply again. Another thing to consider is what is happening in the Government with the employment freeze. A lot of departments have a higher work load than they are accustomed too. Anyway, plenty of R34's are in the country so it'll get through eventually.

Wakefield Speed Off The Streets
StinkyPoo replied to Manuel Kasko's topic in Australian Capital Territory
It'll be fine. Repaired a few of them with rubber inserts . It is really difficult to tear the belts on a tire. I'm pretty sure manufacturers err on the side of caution. -
I'll probably just go do the Friday night dinner in Braddon thing.
-
I'll do it tonight. I'm still working day job until tomorrow.

Rosie Goes Through Dickson - Results Inside.
StinkyPoo replied to RosieR34's topic in Australian Capital Territory
The issue I have with some threads is the miss information that is spread. Normally I just read and move on, however in one particular thread a person spoke badly about something I am passionate about. They had no knowledge or experience about the topic (this appears to be a recurring story with other topics). On a open forum such as this everyone is able voice their own opinion and so am I. If you can't cop it, then don't dish it. I have been a moderator and know it is a lot of work to maintain a forum, especially one the size of SAU. -
I have see a thread on Facebook about a person that had received a defect notice to go to Dickson, receive another defect during the 2 week period. From the photos from their page, it was obvious their commodore was defectable. It shouldn't be an issue for cars that are road legal. And the some times particular car groups/community brings the police presence on themselves. I've seen a fair amount of ads on Facebook groups about including a skid for extra monies.

Are you serious? Is one example amongst many that are littered with in the ACT section. Is it also common sense to speed past someone to teach them a lesson for speeding through traffic? Or even that speeding is any less dangerous than drifting?
