  1. Since we were asked to move from ANU, we're planning to meet tonight in a carpark below 1 Phipps Close, Deakin, ACT. Only a few spots there, so you may need to park in on the street. If it isn't empty when we arrive, we should stay out on the street to stop the possibility of conflict.
  2. Hey guys, just thought I would pass this information on. We had a number of car Numberplates stolen at work (in Campbell). They weren't very smart about it and just tried to tear them off cars. Several cars were damaged. If you live in or around the area, it might be a good idea to take some precautions. If you have any information, please call the Police (I hope they actually do something about it). Don't be a hero, some of these guys aren't worth getting involved with.
  3. Autopro and Repco should have them in stock. The LCA ball joints, I believe are the same as S14. Parts, I think I can get them for between $80-$200. Labour, would only take an hour or two. So really the whole thing (except wheel alignment) should be around $300-$400. Also, I don't understand your first sentence.
  4. Most likely the clutch isn't aligned. I have a clutch aligning tool. Also my tip for reinstalling the gearbox is leaning the engine back. You can loosing piping, exhaust and lean it back with a strap from a solid mounting point.
  5. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Rockwell-Impact-Wrench-12v.aspx?pid=287228 I have one of these as well. The case split but you can still hold it together to use it.
  6. I use something like this now: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-UNIMAC-12v-Electric-1-2-Vehicle-Impact-Wrench-Car-ATV-Trailer-Tool-Sockets-/130802514213?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e746ff925
  7. I have, used a loooooong breaker bar
  8. When you do them up, put a socket on the crank bolt and brace against the body. Just do them up like a wheel, it's not super important like head work.
  9. Where are you? Locking the flywheel? Do you mean to hold the flywheel while you undo the bolts? I use $40 electric rattle gun (Dicksmith, Jaycar, Supercheap) to undo the bolts. If I don't have a rattle gun, I use a large screw driver on the wheel teeth, braced so it doesn't move.
  10. lol, there are a few places. I pretty much went through the yellow pages until I found one that could do it on the day.
  11. Yep, but we're in Canberra and nothing happens in Canberra
  12. Hi Everyone, Thank you again for all your support. We have made it into the competition. Now we need to build our cars and get some more practise
  13. More an Alternate spot. Some people are still meeting at Gravillea. We're just trying to find somewhere warmer or dry if it rains.
  14. Bought it from Victoria? Does that mean you have to go through Dickson again?
  15. Hey guys, A few of us are planning to go to Dickson tradies before hand for dinner. Feel free to join us. We will be there by 7pm. If you can let me know that you are coming, I might book a table. ANU worked out for us last week. So we (the people that were out there last week) will go back there again, unless there is a issue with the carpark or security asks us to move on. I highly doubt the police will be called because we don't look like a group of car people.
  16. Should be the carpark spot again. We haven't been spotted by security yet .
  17. 7 people "voted" on your poll. It's your prerogative to put the poll up but why?
  18. Just cancel or delete the thread and start a new one. You already started a poll (which people answered), and now you're going to confuse people.
  19. Reckon I could post this some where on one of the other boards? I don't usually go anywhere else except the local section so I'm not sure where to post or if I'll just be ignored haha.
  20. Thanks for your vote so far. As mentioned the voting system has changed. It now includes Facebook likes. If you have a Facebook account, can you please like our photo? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=553164344735803&set=a.543180885734149.1073741826.309582495760657&type=1&relevant_count=1 Your votes so far has kept us in the top contenders and is very much appreciated.
  21. When is there ever confusion? There are a lot of people here that are not on Facebook and this forum format has been working fine. I wouldn't mind having the info on Facebook but if it's managed poorly, I'm going to ignore it. Also, I'm pretty sure some "Official SAU meet" events don't have insurance. Polls are not helpful either. There are people that vote and they don't even participate. The people that regularly turn up at the Friday night meet already know we have been looking for a winter/rain spot. If you want to meet at Grevillea that's fine, everything is pretty much "Not Official" here. We've been thinking and looking for an alternative for over a year. We've check out the carpark last week and going to trail it. I don't expect everyone to turn up but as I said most of the people that regularly attend are aware of this change. I'm sure people will still be at Gravillea and we will be there if this carpark falls through.
  22. Going to try out the place: Baldessin Parking Station https://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=Baldessin+Parking+Station&hl=en&sll=-35.279943,149.122949&sspn=0.002524,0.004039&t=h&hnear=Baldessin+Parking+Station,+Canberra+Australian+Capital+Territory+2601&z=17
