  1. Got my Z done at Autosport Engineering, speak to Greg.... http://www.autosport.net.au/ Nice quick service... I think they also do most of the compliance work for Just Jap as well... Matt.
  2. Yep I shipped with them just before Christmas, check out their website it explains most of the stuff including pricing: Kiwi Car Carriers I imported a 300zx and I think that was about 10.2m^3, will be different for a skyline, someone on here should be able to let you know the size. My car was about 650,000Yen to purchase and cost me just over $4K in customs/duty/shipping/quantine etc. Although it only goes to Brisbane they used to do free land transport to your city (in fact your house/compliance place !) but I think that might have changed now. The insurance says it covers anything, damage, stolen bits etc. I'm just about to test that one out as I've got damage to my bumper. I'll keep you informed on how that goes.... Other than that they were pretty good, although it did take almost a month to get down to Sydney !! but Christmas got in the way and they also had problems starting mine for the road trip so had to forklift it Hope that helps ! Cheers, Matt.
  3. With Kiwi the cover ends with the first of the following: Marine Insurance cover terminates in the following circumstances (Whichever occurs first): 30 days after discharge from the vessel Delivery to the importers premises, or premises described in the Bill of Lading Delivery to other commercial premises instructed by the insured When the vehicle is driven under its own power - except when incidental to the loading & unloading. http://www.kiwicar.com/kips.htm It's not the liability of the shipping company thats involved, in Kiwi's case the insurance is provided by QBE and they've arranged it so it's covered right up until delivery to you - Wich is pretty good ! all for free as well (although I guess it's in their fee's really somewhere). I'm making a claim on a bit of damage to the bumper on mine, I'll let you know how that goes and if I speak to them I'll enquire about what's covered in the car, just out of interest... Matt.
  4. I just imported my Z, sorry from the dark side - not a GTR I was worried about things going missing, especially after reading the threads on here but nothing was pinched. Gauges and Stereo were mailed to me, but had HKS computers in glove box, splits up fornt, sub and amps in the back nice shift knob etc. But I guess at the end of the day it's a bit luck of the draw - But I don't think it's as common as you think... Also I shipped with Kiwi, from what I can understand their free insurance would cover things like gauges etc. just not things like spares inside the car. Matt.
  5. Hi Guys, I've got my car coming in on the Kiwi boat on the 9th Dec. Been reading this thread and got alittle worried about things being nicked as stuff Got the car through Geoff so I'm using CGL as my customs agent. Also have a couple of questions if people can help, The car comes into Brisbane and I'm in Sydney, I know Kiwi provide the road transport, does that mean it get cleared up in brisbane and then just delivered down to me or does it get transported to Syd and then cleared here ? Also the DEH thing, should I send off the letter to the DEH now about the aircon (to try and save the $150) and get it all through quickly, has anyone else done this ? Thanks in advance, Cheers, Matt.
