  1. R33's are great cars and yes I have heard of speedo's being wound back but I personally wouldn't worry about this. Most Japanese people don't do a lot of driving and as stated, as the car gets older the costs go up. Rego, tax and also servicing goes up dramatically as the Japanese laws state that even slightly worn parts must be replaced so it's actually cheaper to buy a new car than it is to constantly repair an old one. Get an R33 and you won't be dissapointed but make sure you look at a lot of cars and drive them all so you find the best one out there.
  2. Far too much and nowhere near enough
  3. The R33 is an absolute rip off so if you are comparing those cars then the GTR wins hands down. However if you had the choice of a $17,000 R33 GTS-T and a $27,000 R32 GTR then I would personally go the R33. R33's are newer and look nicer when done right imo. Spend $10,000 on it and you will have a great looking and quick car.
  4. People in Japan do this conversion in R32's and Cefiro's as the RB20 has a big torque hole down low. However for what the conversion will cost I would suggest just working the RB20 and getting good suspension etc. As already said, a GT2530 will cure the torque problem and make the engine very Drift friendly.
  5. Ah I knew I had seen that engine bay before. Damn nice car and Prestige Motorsport are a good mob to deal with. Enjoy!!!
  6. Awesome!!! Show us the rest of the car too man. I would imagine you have an upgraded AFM, injectors, fuel pump and clutch with that turbo.
  7. I got a manual, turbo, R33 sedan. Family car looks with super car power
  8. Just a question regarding reliability as I am an ex-Commodore owner and they are probably the most unreliable cars I have ever owned. I moved up to a Skyline after owning several HSV's and V8 Commodores because I loved the style, power and quality of the R33's. So far my Skyline has been very reliable with none of the rattles or squeeks that I had in my Commodores and only basic things needing to be replaced as you would expect from a 10 year old car (fuses, globes, brake pads, clutch etc). How has your Skyline served you so far?
  9. Cams please but he asked about the plenum so.........
  10. Yeah that's cool people don't always agree. I know that changing the plenum on an RB20 does more harm than good because of the long runners etc but on the R33 it can be a good upgrade. However I wouldn't make it a priority unless I really needed to and as you said it probably won't give you any gain until you are making a lot of power and I have seen the stock plenum perform fine on cars making 350bhp. It does look nice in the engine bay though
  11. I know this car well. http://www.xspeed.com.au/secret.php?area=n...an&secret_id=20 XSpeed are probably the most well known tuning/performance workshop here in Perth. Make up your own mind.
  12. These are nice kits and that R33 sedan kit is the best I have seen. I have an Option DVD with a black R33 sedan sporting Final Konnexion aero and Work Wheels Drifting it's balls off. It goes real well until the guy puts it into the dirt causing the front bar to smash to pieces They even make a kit which makes the Z32 look half decent :uh-huh:
  13. Most people I have seen use the standard throttle on the plenum and simply use it to run less piping with an aftermarket FMIC. It flows a lot better than standard and will be a good upgrade if you get more serious about modifying your engine. Oh and it's GReddy not GReedy
  14. Hey guys. I am currently looking at upgrading my turbo to a HKS GT-RS or GT2530 KAI and I would like some advice on the upgrade. I own a manual R33 Skyline sedan and basically I am after an internal gated turbo as I want the car to be perfectly streetable and insurable but I want it to be fast at the same time. Other things I will upgrade with the turbo are AFM, ECU (Power FC), clutch, injectors, fuel pump etc. The car already has a cat-back exhaust and HKS FMIC so hopefully I don't need to replace those things. I would like to know which turbo would best be suited to my application and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Any other information is greatly appreciated and please forgive my ignorance on this subject
