Cheers Riverside, i'll have a look on the weekend.

I'm not sure what rear end my cefiro has. It was originally converted from a RB20e to an RB20det. So i don't know if it has the R180 or R200. How do I tell which it is? Or are they all R200?

I was looking at getting a 86 before i bought my ceffy. Thought it might be a cheap and fun way to get into drifting, plus i've always had a soft spot for them. But after reseaching them for some time and also test driving one i got turned off big time. There are just too many downsides to owing one. By the time i added up the cost of purchasing a decent 86 with no rust, factored in a rear disc/lsd conversion, engine swap, suspension and fixing all the crap thats broken by now. You now have the money for a nice cefiro with change for mods. And at the end of it, if you still buy an 86, you have to live with the 20yo interior (you will gasp if you haven't seen one before), no air con (very few have it), no power steering, only 2 doors, and prolly more likely to get stolen. I've got nothing against the 86, i love them. And would of loved to have owned one when they were 10-15 years old. But people that have them say you really have to love them to death to own one. Its like having an extremely high maintenance girlfriend. All your mates are envious and think she's really cool. But really she's a pain in the ass.

Yeah thats me! That was the day (14/4/05) that i finally got it registered. I wouldn't of had my rims on it either. It would of had my mates 15" black multispokes. Looks much nicer with my 16" wantanabe style rims.

Just got mine dyno'd on the weekend. Only put out 95kw atw due to the fuel pump being stuffed. Was leaning out to 15:1. Should be putting a new pump in on the weekend so i'll update the figure when it gets on the dyno again. Mods are 3" dump and front pipe, 2.5" cat back. Everything else stock as. RB25 turbo and EBC to be installed very soon.

Same front bar as mine. Though you have the slat type grill that i want!!

Next time i'll try the smaller one.

Bought the Z145A filter today. Thanks everyone for the info. I was supprised that it is about half the size of the one thats already on my car, which is some japanese brand filter.

I'm down for pretty much any weekend. And my cefiro is on the road an registered as of thursday just past. So i'm keen to hook up. -
Does anyone know the part number for the cefiro oil filter? Is the RB20 oil filter the same as that on the RB25?
-
Well when mine landed one was missing. And by the time the compliancing was done only one was left on! so now i've taken all of them off but the metal bits are still on. So from the inside ha? I'll have to take another look. Also can you get new chrome strips? Mine are in really poor shape. Hopefully by next week my ceffie will be on the road. After being in the country for 2 months now! Will post pics as soon as its registered and cleaned up. Atm it's in my gararge on stands (putting in new coilovers to pass blue slip)

How to you remove the metal tags after you take off the weather shields from the windows? Is there a trick to it or do you just have to yank it out with pliers?

I have a A31 cefiro that i'm trying to get a blue slip for. It came with JIC coilovers but they are pretty rooted. So i have bought a set of HD System coilovers (for an S13), the HS type. Now these don't come with the pillar tops and as I understand it, you are supposed to use the fatory tops with these coilovers. The tops on the JIC's don't fit. Has anyone else ran into this problem? As i see it, my options are to either locate a set of OEM tops or modify the JIC ones to fit the HD System's. I'm more keen on the second approach as the JIC front tops are adjustable. Does anone know what is involved or where in Sydney one could go to get it done?

Advice on removing "top plates" from coilovers
replicate replied to replicate's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Damn. Looks like they won't fit anyway. Looks like i need the original plates. Anyone have a set of top plates they can sell? Need them ASAP. -
A friend of mine is installing my new coilovers on my yet to be registered Ceffy. New new coilovers didn't come with the plates to attach the top of the unit to the car. So he is trying to remove the tops from the existing stuffed coilovers to put on the new ones. Is this common practice? Or are new coilovers supposed to come with them? And how difficult is it to remove them? I believe he is having trouble after undoing the nut on the top and then having it not want to turn anymore.

Plastic window wind breaker thing
replicate replied to replicate's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Mr Eps Thanks for the offer. I'll check out the chrome, if it is to my satisfaction. Off they will stay. -
Whats the factory redline/cutoff for an RB20DET cefiro? Mine originally had an RB20E so i don't think the gauge is correct.

Plastic window wind breaker thing
replicate replied to replicate's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
yeah i guess they look like boomerangs i might take them off. its just that on my last import i took them off and they left ugly glue marks underneath that had fused into the paint. I'll see how bad it is on the cef when i get it back from compliance. -
My ceffy was originally a RB20E with a RB20DET put in, in Japan. It hasn't cased any problems so far. As far as i know the engineer didn't have a problem with it. Although it hasn't got to blue slip stage yet. (I am in NSW). So i'll see what happenes. Blue slip should be getting done on Wednesday.
-
Does anyone have a drivers side one they'd care to part with cheaply? I don't even know what they are called. Like a wind breaker or something for the window. My drivers side one didn't seem to make the trip over. Looks a bit funny with it missing and i'd like to keep the rest on.
-
Sweet. Guess i'll just have to be patient. It's just not one of my virtues when cars are involved.
-
I was quoted $1000. Can't remember if it included blue slip.

Can anyone recomend places in Sydney to get a Cefiro complianced? Mine has currently been at the compliancer for over a week and may not get done until next week. So i am looking for alternative places.
