  1. cool, good stuff so far, any more places you can reccomend peeps?
  2. So, Ive been scouring the interwewbs and all the informaion I find seems to be 5 years old or of no use anymore. Does anyone know, where is a reliable SHOP that does guard rolling, any approximate prices, and places east of the city would be even better? thanks
  3. I was under the car on the weekend and got a little surprise. Ive owned the car for 2.5 yers now and only just noticed that I have a JIC front swaybar. I knew i had the rear one as its adustable and looks aftermaket, so it was a bit of surpised to find one on the front too Even more so as its nothing much to look at and i was considering swapping the front for a new one anyway as its a bit spongy. So what parts have surprised you? What has a previous owner installed on your car that you didnt know about?
  4. And Im guessing you would have to drain your oil/coolant to do this too, right?
  5. Having never pushed the limits of my turbo R33, i got to thinking about what happens when you blow one. So quite simply, whats happens when you blow a turbo (such as the classic overboosting concequence of pushing a stock ceramic/nilon turbo to destruction)? Can you still drive home? or will you be taking a tow truck home? And also, how many people out there changed over the turbo at home, Vs getting a shop to do it. Was it a great difficuilty, or just a lot of grunt work? Hoping to never have this happen, but am interested to know
  6. FYI it was the original double sided tape. Actually it was just a sticky mush at this point, so i just threw up some of my own double sided tape over it and that seemed to solve it.
  7. took the indicator stalk out, cracked it open and cleaned it up. Put it back and it works now. ill give it a few days or driving before i consider it a fix though, but looking good so far
  8. Cool, Ill give it a go now
  9. Would I need to remove the wheel to get to the stalk?
  10. Car is R33 Skyline, as in avatar
  11. A simple, but important part of the car. Im not sure if this is related to my audio install of a week ago (im going to check a few things on that tommorow to see if its related) but in the past few days i have noticed my indicators have stopped working. Or more specifically, they work sporadically. Like driving to work, nothing, then later its ok, then next day nothing. and by nothing, i mean you pull the lever up or down and no noise, no light on dash, just dead. And nope, its not the fuse. Is this a normal failure, and if so what part needs to be changed, and do you have a part number/price? of what should i be looking for? ideas? thanks all
  12. HI All, Im Jeremy and Im fairly new to Melbourne after living in Japan for 7 years. I bought my R33 over there and driifted it for 2 years (brought it back with me too) and am looking forward to meeting you all next week at the karts and seeing what the Vic scene is like. Cheers
  13. I remember being impressed by 3M as a company after studying a case study about them in uni, so personally I trust them as a company to provide quality products and would choose them among others. Very good R&D
  14. hmm this is a pickle. makes me wonder why they sell springs separatly for coilovers when it appears like it wouldnt be a great fix by just doing this. ahhhh what to do.....
  15. cool, will give these a try
  16. I always thought FRP doors would be cool, but only for a track car; completetly impractical for street
  17. Ive just noticed the roof lining has started drooping away from near the rear windscreen. Whats the best method to fix that? thanks
  18. With that in mind, what more can be done with my coilovers to adjust damping, over just turning the knob to full soft? Apart from buying new dampers
  19. Cool. Does anyone know the spring rate for standard R33 shocks? I just realised tbhis would be good to compare
  20. Thanks. I owned my car in japan and drove it only weekends. The harshness didnt bother me because of that, as it was only short trips or on the track. i always had the shocks on full soft on the street as it would be pointless not too. What about just say, changing the rear to a bit softer, or visa-versa instead of softnening both F and R? Anyone had experience with that? And what else are you guys running for spring rates?
  21. For anyone still reading this, I found Nismo oil to be the best for quietness. It appears to have been made with motul, but in Aus I put in the motul brand oil in and although it chattered less than cheap oil, I will be soon ordering the Redline friction modifier to see if that helps me more, as its still a little too noisy for my liking.
  22. Heres the short version. I used to run KTS coilovers, then I changed to stock suspension for 6 months, but the stock units are shite and I want some proper handling back. Although I used the coilovers before previously for drift, I now use my car as a daily driver and have no time for the harshness, especially on Melbourne roads with all those damn tramlines. So my question is, What spring rates would give me still some firmness (it is a sportscar afterall) and yet still be soft enough that I would have a reasonable level of comfort on the roads. I might take it to the track, say a couple of times a year, but for the other 98% of the time, I want something that wont rattle my fillings out. The current spring rates are F 8kg/mm and R 7kg/mm. What have you run? What feels good for the road? thanks
  23. cool, will investigate. perhaps here... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/95808-r33-aircon-help/page__p__1734223__hl__aircon%20actuators__fromsearch__1#entry1734223
