  1. excellent. Ive messed around under the dash there a bit before. Ill check it out.
  2. Yeah, it typically is only cold on the low degrees. Where are the sensors located? Has anyone replaced them before? how? costs?. I dont hear clicking sounds when I change the aircon settings, but I do have a similar weird clicking sound from the dash sometimes - see http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/415346-strange-electrical-noises-coming-from-under-the-dash/ Still dont know about that either. Could be related.
  3. ok, thats a start. Any more info or ideas out there?
  4. So recently got the AC regassed after shipping it to OZ. It was working fine but lately ive noticed that that temp setting sometimes doesnt work reliably. Like If i have it on 18 deg/c its nice and cold, but then if i bring it up to, say 20, it will be warm as if the AC is no longer on and its just running as fan air. Then id drop the temp back, and cold AC air would crank back on. So basically, what is causing this inaccuracy of temps? is it a sensor or something with the indash unit? Ideas? thanks
  5. Bid of an odd one. Recently Ive heard some strange noises coming from under the dash infront of me somewhhere. It sounds like a combination of noises - whirring motors on and off and some clicking, almost like a solenoid malfuunctioning. There seems to be no effect to the car, things are otherwise working normally but I have no idea what this is. Something is screwing up, that much I know. Any ideas? This happen to you? What could it be? car is otherwise mostlly standard. thanks
  6. Big of a strange one, as I have little idea about this. lately when cruising slowly through traffic ive noticed a strange sound coming from somewhere within the dash infront off me. It sounds a bit like "robot" whirring, or even a bit like the motors for the water spray for the windscreen and also ive heard some clicks, a bit like an electrical solenoid. There is no diifference to the operation of my car (that im awarre of). The sounds will stop and start a bit and then go away, as if something is malfunctioning sporadically. Yeah, not the best description, but does this mean anything to anyone else. Any similar failings? What could it be?
  7. So I wanna change the LSD oil over, and I got the oil ready. I just looked under the car and have located the upper and lower plugs on the diff, so that looks straight forward enough, but here is what puzzled me. The upper plug is located only about 3-4cm abover the lower one and it really doesnt look like it can hold the 1.5-2L of diff oil that I should be putting in it. Am I missing something here on how to fill it or is it just an illusion and there is nothing to worry about?
  8. Um yeah, ok, bit of hijacking there. So anymore ideas for jobs? What jobs are in demand that you know of?
  9. It sucks how involved everything is, usually without much to show for it. Thanks, I'll check the link
  10. Thanks for the feedback. Naturally, I have more than one email. And the S13 is long gone too ; (
  11. OK, here it goes, the call for help: I need a job. First, the background. Ive been living long term in Japan (7 years) and now that Ive come back Im finding it impossible to get a job. I have a polished resume, a variety of experience and in almost 2 months havent got so much as 1 interview. My fiance is packing up and coming down to Aus in a month or so and I really have to be earning before then. Time is running out and need to get something fast. So my big question is, do you know of any jobs that are available where you work? Maybe you know of positions opening up, or someone leaving, or just that your company needs someone. Below are my skills and experience. Degree in management (Marketing) 6 years magazine writing/photography, mostly cars and motorbike mags teaching good skills in writing, researching, organization, speaking, business understanding. Im ideally hoping for something low level in business/marketing/office support or similar, but at this point im open to any ideas whiich involve a full time salary. I live in the eastern suburbs / bayside area, and hope to work there or CBD If you know of anything, please let me know or let your boss know about me. I can be contacted at [email protected] Thanks in Advance, Jeremy Oh, also, if you have any ideas out of the ordinary for finding jobs, that would help too. Cheers
  12. Amp got stolen in shipping the car, so I have no tunes either : (
  13. As I wrote at the top, I have coilovers which I will reinstall when I get them back in a few months, but until then Im trying to work something out
  14. The shocks themselves seemed in decent condition, no leaks and the plastic cover was complete and in good condition. I cant remember if it had the paper gaskets; i think so but not sure, it was about 3 months ago that I put them on. I also have a strut bar and the standard trunk bar. Whats the purpose of the paper tops anyway?
  15. Assuming it was a stuffed shock, whats the downward spiral like? Does it just get noisier? will it slowly deform or could it have a sudden failure?
  16. I just tried pushing the pack sides of the car. hard to tell. Maybe no sound when I do it...
  17. the clunking happens regularly, but at random times, not nessesarely while going straight/turning/accel/braking. At that time I took off my coilovers and replaced with standard nissan stuff. I didnt change anything else with the suspension. Im quite sure I put it all back properly. Its a simple enough process (still took all day though) and Im therefore sure everything was done up back as it should have been. I cant remember if there were paper seals under the camber tops, there might have been, I just bought them and slapped them in. I dont see how that could be responsible for the kind of clunk im getting though (does it? it might?). I would expect a squeek issue for something like that. My thoughts are that it could be either the shocks/struts I put in which are somehow stuffed or the ball joints for the rear sus or, less likely the Hycas ball joints. But I have no experience with sus gone bad, so Im hoping for experiences and advice from those who have.
  18. So I imported my car from japan and along the way some fag stole my head units amp. The dumb thing is that by itself its worth next to nothing, but without it I have no sound unless I replace it or rewire. Anyway, on the off chance, does anyone have the amp from the Eonon D1305 that they can part with? please email [email protected] heres a link http://www.eonon.com/Car-DVD-Players/1-Din-Car-DVD/D1305.html
  19. Quick question about suspension. I reinstalled some standard suspension into my R33 and i started to hear a solid "clunk" sometimes from the rear when driving along, and not nessesarely when going over bumps etc. Its slowly happening more and more and Im starting to get a little concerned. Where exactly do you think the noise is coming from, or the reason for it? Im hoping to confirm its not something which will fail on me while driving. And yeah, I have coilovers, but gotta wait until they get imported to put them in. thanks
  20. Heres another question on the off chance that anyone reads this thread again, What taxes, if any, need to be paid on a personal import? GTS? Import duty? etc
