  1. I was thinking of replacing the cat on my100k km R33 RB25DET (cat back exhaust) with a GTR item as romour has it they are pretty good. just a few questions 1, which ones should bolt on without modification, r32, 33, 34? 2, any ideas on cost? 3, any other info or suggestions?
  2. thanks, thats exactly what i needed to know
  3. i wanna get coilovers for drift but notice that to adjust for camber you need new adj upper arms. Does this mean I should just get normal coilovers or will it be useful to get camber top ones? yeah, i know i asked a similar question before but it was never really cleared up thankx
  4. right cool. Did you see a solid difference in handleing for drift when you changed to them? I also heard roumer that you can just change the tie rods? (i forget just now exactly which rod) and that would also do it?
  5. the coilovers onb my r33 are rooted (just bought the car) and I was planning to get new ones and wanted them camber adjustable. I was doing background reading on drift sus set ups and I saw something about skylines and supra having a different front sus arrangement than, say silvias. It says it would have an upper camber arm? or something. So I checked and found you can change this for some kind of camber adjustment but then got confused. DO I need camber adj coilovers AND that upper arm? or just normail coilover and the adjustable arm? or what? ideas Also, while Im on it, im planing to drift the thing a little, what spring rate is advised. I was seeing 8 and 6 as a common rate. is this good? ok thanks all
  6. perfect Deano, thats exactly what I was after, thanks
  7. Im flipping through the install manual and it tells me to connect up 4 wires. red to battery orange IGN (to 12v wire when ignition is on) black gnd white ILM (to 12v wire when small light is on) Now I can work out that I gotta ground the black wire, and red can I connect to the ciggi socket wire? but then what about orange and white? Its been a while, getting confused. Where exactly should I splice in these wires on my 33? thanks
  8. Im doing some maintenance on my new R33 I got this week and have a few questions Im hoping ppl could help me with. 1, For changing the timing belt, will the shop NEED to replace anything else like water pump, gaskets? or not 2, What is the life of the water pump? how many kms? 3, Is changing the water pumps as simple as unbolt, apply gasket, bolt new on on? or does it need specific tools, trouble etc? Ie, can I do it myself later AAAAND 4. How would I go about changing the power steering fluid? how much do I need? OK, thanks for your help

They are standard replacment pads and are new, but in a crusty old box. see pictures at http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4375...mp;id=637578082 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4375...mp;id=637578082 EMAIL to [email protected] new OEM pads will set you back $80-$100, these ones going for $60 INCLUDING POSTAGE. mail me

  13. hey all I got a set of Sumitomo front Brake pads for ER32 / ECR32 Nissan skyline. These are a ceramic formula, so an improvement over normal brake pads (but no, they arent any kind of big $ track pads) and come new, but in a shitty faded box. These were sold locally in Japan and arent available in Australia. $85 in Adelaide. Catch is im only in town for a few days (fri 18, sat 19 and 23? i think) so if i cant meet in person or if you prefer anyway, they would ahve to be sent by post as buyers cost. As a bonus incentive to make this easier for me, if you can meet me in person on those dates I will let you have them for $70. if not, $85. even if you pads dont need a change yet, its always good to have a cheap replacment hanging around. mail s13driftking2yahoo.com.au as i dont get to this forum as much anymore. thanks also, if you know anyone thats interested I have a set of s13 silvia square headlights for sale also, quite good condition. see http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=420869 brake pads pics http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4375...mp;id=637578082 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4375...mp;id=637578082

  15. Hello All, Im a long time resident of Tokyo, but Im now trying to gather a little info on the car stuff over here. Im sure there is stuff I still dont know about, so Im throwing out a big favor to you all for help in telling me about stuff i might not know about. Please be as specific as you can, this would help me alot. 1 What are some good parts/accessory shops (new and used)? I know of upgarage, crystal, autobacs. Any other goldmines? 2 Whats a good cruise/hang out spot in Tokyo (eg, other than daikoku futo, roppongi) 3 any good car museums or similar? Thanks everyone, i appreciate any info
  16. That ginza Nissan showroom is really just 2 cars which they rotate. A few months back when i went by it was some other cars, no GTR, but who knows what it will have when ur in town. Upstairs has some nismo stuff, but its more like trinkets, mugs and key rings, not actual parts. They also have some interactive pc's and a little this and that, but seriously, its quite small upstairs and down. like i would reccomend that if you are in ginza, check it out, but im not sure rid go out of my way.

    Vip Parts

1, forget driving a car in Tokyo unless u are moving bulkey items. But even still if its from a shop ur getting something they can usually have it sent, thus the need for a car is low. For VIP parts; well cheap parts of anything in Japan are hard to find. If its in a shop, dont expect any dusty old, forgotten stock being sold for penuts anywhere. If you do find stuff exceptionally cheap, then great, u got lucky. If you want body kits or similar, get a copy of VIP Style magazine, search the ads and order it. For nick naks, interior stuff, etc, hmnnnn probably i would go to the SuperAutobacs near Odaiba, Rinkai train line, Shinonome station. That place is huge, heaps of everything car related, and therefore your best chance to get shit to fill ur car with. Its right near the station too, 1 min walk. oh, also cristal stocks mostly performance parts and up garage has used stuff, so ud be lucky if there was anything in those places
  19. Yeah, i thought it had to be something, as the engine/gearbox is certainly a competant combo, so I figured it had to be chassis, weight or styling. Interestingly if you flip through drift tengoku magazine here no one advertises the car itself for sale, and on the parts advertising R33 parts are uncommon. It seems to be a case of, " yes, we sell them, but your gonna have to ask, as we arent wasting page space on it". I guess with enough money you can do anything. Any other ppl own and drift a 33?
  20. OK, this might sound like a dumb question, as you see skylines in all forms of motorsport holding its own. I have, though noticed something. I live in Japan and over here in the drift mags you rarely see R33s . On the track, the same is evident, it has a very low following. R32s seem to be out a bit, and you see R34s sometimes too, but its seems like the 33 is the forgotten car. So whats the deal? why doesnt anyone like them? What might be the reasons why people are shying away from them for drift? Is it the weight? the styling? The upside of this is that you can get a mildly modded one with average ks at fire-sale prices (hence Im weighing it up as a future purchase prospect) So my real question is, drifters, whats the R33 like to drift? responses from people who actually know or have experience please, as I can speculate too. Thanks

    Bikes In Japan

I dont really know what you mean about savings to be had, but I bought a bike here and did the shaken on it myself (big savings to be had, and not as hard as you think). Managed to get a mint '98 Honda CB400SF for around Y250,000 with only 12,000kms on it. I found it through www.goobike.com , which is the bike version of goo. Anything over about 10-20,000kms and they drop in price, just like the psycological 100,000km limit on car buying here. just be prapared to wade through some crap and deal with the occasional blue collar wanker. Luckily the shop I finally bought mine from was proffesional, clean and the guy even spoke (Very) minimal English, but I reccomend taking a native friend along. as for ownership stuff, shaken (biannually) cost me about Y30,000, insurance for a year was Y50,000 and I think I got tax coming in April, but I dont know how much that will be. for more info try www.gaijinriders.com
  22. Seriously? no one? Surely you guys might be able to add something new, and yes, I have thorougly searched the forum. !
  23. Yeah, I know theres bits and pieces all over the place, so if you can, everyone, lets get even just 1 from most people
  24. C`mon guys, I know that you all have great places that you know about, lets share them.
