  1. Ok just to sum up incase I've missed something: Question asked about a guy selling a car with a "NISMO Built engine". Turns out the guy selling the car can't back up anything... THEN has a go at everyone because we found it to not be NISMO built? Have I missed something here??? Well screw it I'll have a go - I'm selling an R34 GTR V-Spec II Nur - it looks surprisingly like an R32 GTSt but trust me it has the number 2 in the engine number so it's a R34 GTR V-Spec II Nur ... Anyone who says I'm wrong is a "tosser" Good job Jim, good job.
  2. ^^ 100% Agreed - why not just upgrade it now? They arent super expensive and at least it gives peace of mind it will handle anything you throw at it... a few $$ spent now could save alot more $$ spent sooner than expected.
  3. Really depends on your power goal... You have missed a fuel pump though - these are vital and should not be overlooked. No fuel = big expensive bang... If it were me I'd be looking at what you want out of it i.e. do you just want to go faster or want more response etc. Mods wise i'd get: - Fuel pump - Injectors (If power is going >250kw) - ECU - Turbo upgrade All your other supporting stuff like manifolds and plenums should be good until you get really serious. My 2 cents
  4. Well i'm in the banking industry Luckily I managed to keep my position through all the dramas - we have had massive cuts ~1,000 I have definitely noticed cut backs - no more lunch's, travel, equipment etc etc it's all been pulled into line. I'm very thankful that I kept my job as in the banking industry at present its pretty slim pickings... Luckily Australia hasn't been as heavily exposed in the same sense as the US or Europe etc, our 4 major banks now hold AA credit ratings - which translates to lower funding costs, something not easy to acheive. Also our 4 majors are now considered in the top 20 banks worldwide, this is a very big deal given the names in the top 20 - really opens your eyes to the beating they have received! It's been said before but if you didn't stretch yourself i.e. borrow money to within an inch of your life and your sensible you'll ride it out, live on the other end of the scale however and it's going to be a rough ride... My 2 cents
  5. Here is another guy trying to upsell a car: Note especially the comment around the RAYS Engineering rims... look like drifteks to me... Considering no shots of the engine bay... also the warranty comment? Click here! I think you just need to do a little research - which is what your doing Good luck with it! Cheers
  6. mmm, I'd be pretty sceptical... It looks just like a stocker with a few bolt ons, I think this guy is trying to take you for a ride. Look at the car the following doesnt add up - these never came as an option... - New front bar - New bonnet - New wheels - New steering wheel - New radiator - New pods - New dash All of which never came standard on any version of the GTR. Also that midnight purple is not rare its very common!!! I would do my research before possibly overpaying for this car, looks like its only bolt ons and the guy is trying to take you for a ride... My 2 cents

    Rebuild

Hey mate - good on ya on keeping the 20! very underrated. I have not heard the best things about Walbro pumps - I have never used one, just heard not so good. Would suggest a Bosch one - these seem tried and tested 040 or 044 Also if you've gone through the effort of a full rebuild I would get new injectors for piece of mind, or you can get RX7 ones I think they are 440cc though not 550? If you do go second hand make sure you get them cleaned and flow tested. Anyways good luck! Just make sure you service it regulalry and don't drive it like an idiot and she'll live forever.
  8. That ^^ and take off the intake pipe and have a look at the turbo - check for excessive shaft play or worse no wheel... Good luck
  9. If your builiding the car for street use you simply cannot go past the 30... Simple as that. And for all you pure breds out there - get with it, the RB30 has been mated with all RB's with great results. Like it has been said before if you can have more power & more torque earlier why not? Also for all who are saying lets see it rev to 12,000 rpm - that is ridiculous as we are talking about a STREET car, do you rev your car to 12,000 rpm on the street - I would hazard a guess you wouldnt get near or even need 10,000 rpm. Look at superjet760 - as if you would say no to that!!! My 2 cents...
  10. Hey mate, A mobile number would help Cheers You have PM also
  11. Very nice! Very jealous! Would be an absolute animal, is it a street car or do you have plans to drag it / track it etc?
  12. Count me in 100% Just lemme know where to put the $$$. Awesome buy
  13. Holly hell... Yes it will make a difference... Gee what a pain in the ass asking you the same question again and again. If your looking for more guesses and want to keep running round in circles thats fine. If your looking for help - maybe start looking to eliminate problems by actually doing something instead of just typing...? Spark plugs have many different types of heat ranges and gaps which will all effect how the engine runs. Normally a gap of 0.8mm will be fine, however, iridiums can come with a gap of 1.1mm this will make a difference as there is a bigger gap sometimes the spark gets blown out and cant ignite the mixture = hence a missfire. Not having a go, but it does wear a little thin you just coming back and telling us it ran ok for 5 seconds and it was hot and not giving any detail.
  14. leeboi33 What type of plugs did you use? Just saying they cost a fortune and they are iridium isnt telling us anything other than you wasted your money... What was the part number and what were they gapped to? My suggestion is to get some NGK BCPR6E or BCPR7E plugs and try them - they are about $3 a plug so for $18 to fix your problem I think this is a cheap way to start...
  15. Dont think you could ruin them that quickly. Did you change your plugs when you changed coils? If so what plugs did you put in? & What were they gapped to?
  16. Race Brakes - they are in Yarraville - Google them. I have only had great experiences with them - they have always been honest and upfront. Also you dont always have to machine the rotors when you change pads, only if they require it. My 2 cents.
  17. Holy thread bump - still offering that $15 hahahaha
  18. That sounds quite bad, I would be thinking your piston has popped up to see what all the fuss is about an kissed your valves... Agree with blind elk - you need to get the head off to have a looksie. Let us know & Good luck
  19. Welcome to the forums mate... Maybe start with a search or 2... Instead of posting a question everytime... Anyways - the tick tick tick your describing is a box behind your speedo cluster. It requires you to take out the speedo cluster. Once you have it out behind it you will see a metal box about the size of a squash ball, you need to disconnect the green and black wires that are connected to it and and remove the box = no more tick tick ticking. Cheers
  20. Hahaha - Roy you never seem to amaze Mate I think your on the right track - save now and buy later. Half the problem with the world nowadays (jees I sound old!) is that people dont save for what they want and just get a loan for it. Save now - then get what you really want later on, there will always be cars. This coming from a guy who works for a bank
  21. A leakdown test would tell you if its a valve or not... However, you would need the proper guage to tell you %'s Basically all you need to do is - Pressurise the cylinder using an air gun and ensure nothing can get out via the spark plug hole. - Piston must be at Top Dead Centre this way you will hear the air escape 1 of 3 ways 1. Out the plenum side = intake valve(s) 2. Out the exhaust side = exhaust valve(s) 3. Down past the piston into the crankcase = Rings I think doing it without the proper guages though could be hard as you wont be able to measure how much or what % is escaping... My 2 cents
  22. Ill be right, Ill just drive into work then into Chisholm. Also wouldnt want to be catching the Frankston train at about 10pm... Are you doing the course starting on Tuesday?
  23. Oh dear! What was that guy thinking? I did enjoy the absolute pasting he received from th other BMW guys!!! However, I think one of them missed the mark when they were talking about BMW being a luxury car etc etc, Dont get me wrong they do have some great luxury cars but... in Australia I see way too many 318i's with wind up windows, cloth interior and a young guy looking like hes driving an actual BMW... If you get my drift
  24. Superstar KezR33!! Thanks heaps - think I will do the small engines one - looks like a good start - except for the drive to Frankston every Tuesday from the city
