Do you think it is ok to use carby cleaner on a turbo? Just give it a quick spray to clean it out?? Or what would be suitable to clean a turbo? Cheers,

Hi guys, Im gonna need some help. Im changing my exhaust manifold gasket and have run into some problems tking off the turbo. I need someone to come to my place and help me with the change. Im willing to pay but i need someone who knows what theyr doing. Im going to need to do a coolant flush also. Yeah i have them theyre called easy outs. The only problem is if youve ever had your manifold off you notice there isnt a hole lotta room in there Also if you dont get it exactly straight, and things go bad then you have to get the holes re tapped!!! Not my idea of fun... lol Thats for the info though... i may still give it a go. Afterall its all about the experience thats why im doin it myself

Lol i just found that guy today... He said around $80 to remove 3...it seems like hes a one man band just give him a ring he was a nice guy.

Hi all, Recently there has been some discussion about changing manifold gaskets and that there are broken studs involved. In the threads people say they called "a guy" in to help them out. Yet no1 mentions any names. Im in melbourne and was wondering if anyone knew of a name and number of a guy that can help. Because i know I have at least 2 broken studs Any ideas... Thanks

That could be about right. I use 10w 40 Motul 300V Chrono.... Ive been using it for a while. I know im missing a bolt from the manifold... or rather its snapped off. Who knows how to get them out?? Cos id love to replace the manifold gasket and all the bolts?? Anyone willing to help theres a slab in it I heard the beer currency goes along way.

ive never pulled the engine down so as far as i know its standard pistons. I park on level ground Its just odd its recently started???

Recently I have noticed that when I start the car I get a wierd noise from the engine. The noise goes away when the engine warms up. Its hard to desciribe the noise but reading some other posts it may be piston slap... but I'm unsure it may just be noisy pistons?. Anyone else have this issue please share...

Agreed CEF11E... I had mine done by Dr Drift and gained close to 30 rwkw. If you get it done get it done by some1 who knows what theyre doin. You can get very close to the gains of a Power FC yet you cant get the flexiility..... Your choice at the end of the day.

Adjusting The Idle Screw On The Aac (rb20det)

Screwing it in will decrease the idle and visa versa Also make sure the car is already warm when ur adjustin it because it will still idle high if its cold... -
Why not remapit please share your experiences...... What happened and y??? Not having a go just interested cos i have a remap....

Yeah that is his problem... ast stated before a rebuild is alot more than $80-$100. Look mate you've spent anywhere between $9,000 to $14,000+ on your car and beleive me its not going to be the last you spend on her.... If you wanna keep everything on the cheap thats fine but don't skimp on the important stuff. Next you'll be asking if you can use cooking oil for the 100km service because regular oil is too expensive. Anyways

Just a feeler: What do you think the cost would be torebuild an RB20DET. Tkaing into consideration this will not be a full house rebuild only back to "fresh". So no massive pistons and turbo set up just a straight forward rebuild. Any ideas ?? and also who knows of a decent engine builder. I dont need one (touch wood) just general discussion. Cheers,

Yep get me on that wagon!!! I have been using Optimax because every Caltex i find doesnt have vortex 98 and there isnt a mobil anywhere near me Optimax isnt bad though about the same economy as ultimate.

Get a tune!! That will make more of a diff than anything else. Just get th A/F's and timing right etc etc. Maybe even a map or something like that if a PFC is too expensive. Cheers,

Mine doesnt drop off... then again it doesnt reall come on till 5,000 (HKS 2535) Its just because its the standard turbo. Nothing to worry about i have driven many a standard R32 and theyr all the same. A full exhast system with dump and hi flow cat give a bit more in the top end.

Get it looked at by a tuner. Cos if its your pump your playing with fire, if it leans out too much it'll cost$$$. Id also look at timing as suggested. But realls get someone who knows what theyr doing before the damage is done. -
Check your coil packs etc. Also why are u running an RB20 Turbo?? Newho's that my 2 cents. Do a search thers heaps of ways to fix them.
