  1. Hi All, I am currently completeing this conversion and am looking for assistance from a driveshaft workshop with putting the rb25 gearbox into my r32. Just wondering what shops you have used in Melbourne who have completed this conversion - I dont want "Im getting this done in 2020 when this is finished..." I want actual shops that have actually completed this conversion and have been successful. Anywhere in VIC is ok and if you can provide some details of which method they chose i.e. driveshaft and mounting point wise... Thanks all
  2. Hey mate, Firstly what a terrific tutorial! Its people like yourself that make SAU a great knowledge base and kudos to you for sharing! Just keen to know if this is still working? and also if it has caused any other issues with regard to steering or specifically HICAS etc? Cheers
  3. Im doing this conversion right now, and have encountered the need for the rb25 pump as the balancer has 3 ribs for power steering and the rb20 pump is 4 ribbed... Would love to know how to keep the steering the way it was, could you use a 3 rib belt and the rb20 pump? Or has anyone solved this one?
  4. Slipping clutch wouldn't make the car laggier - it would just free rev once it hit boost and you wouldnt go anywhere at all... Im with Nismoid sounds like a lieak somewhere, more than likely cooler pipe popped off or got loose on the hot day...
  5. Im with PM-R33 on this one! I cant believe you actually did this... Please just wait! On the other hand it makes for good entertainment
  6. Would like to know how this ends up... Seems like at best you will come away with a scored bore...
  7. ^^ what he said, I was going to suggest locktite... Sounds like it may be the wrong part
  8. What a tossbag - All i can think of when reading that is that lowsy little oxygen stealer!
  9. +1 for just putting it into neutral... He could have just shifted it in and the car would have rolled to a stop? Unless im missing something? sounds a little sus to me - maybe he is trying a stunt like that family in the states balloon boy all over again!!!
  10. Hey mate - how much for the crossover pipe posted to melb 3163? Thanks,
  11. It will be safe to get an aftermarket ECU as R31Nismoid has said... I get that you probably dont have the time/money for it right now or whatever the case may be - but I assure you it will be more expensive to just risk the motor... no point risking it for piss all gain at the moment anyways
  12. That guage is the factory boost guage -7 is negative (about) 1 bar (14psi) and the last time it was on zero is becuase you didnt have it connected or blocked off... if its still not connected and showing -7 you have a massive leak... Your problem could be one of many and you havent given much detail on set up, i.e. spark plug type, coil packs, afm, fuel pump etc etc Also other symptoms like missing or pinging
  13. Dont know why im responding to this but... If you can make a 300kw street legal RB20 i would like to see it... 1. You wont make a happy 300kw from an RB20 without serious money or work 2. READ & SEARCH 3. The "Goods on oils" thread is worth a read - there is more than enough information on this. 4. Repeat step 2 except apply it to your chosen questions, rather that what you have done.
  14. Do you have the crossover pipe? If so I can pick up...
  15. Sounds like not enough fuel then... Let us know what the pressure reg shows
  16. Or the pump is stuffed... do you get any other symptoms? like hesitation etc?
  17. Ah dammit, just saw Jezza boiis post = wicked burn!
  18. Good times - First in after the meet... Jealous? Nice work Charles! Nice weather just a little cold and the scenery was pretty dirty in some spots Anywho good to meet you all and I think that place wont have us back because we ate too much, awesome!
  19. I would recommend wreckers before a genuine nissan one - you'll get cleaned up if you buy genuine. my 2 cents
  20. Boom - put me down for this! Basketball is not on.
  21. A few questions... - Do you always use 98 Ron fuel - i.e BP Ultimate and the like? - What was your base timing? - What spark plugs did you put in?
  22. Check that you tourqed the cams to the head properly... What did you tourqe them to?
  23. I think what Sydneykid is getting at is why is the caliper better... The 33 sumitomo caliper is quite good and is 4 piston, as is the STI brembo, however, if your only going to increase the rotor then why not just upgrade the rotor size and retain the 33 calipers? There will be minimal difference between the STI 4pot and the 33 4pot... IMO unless this is a serious track car? especially when your using an adapter to obtain a bigger rotor Correct me if im wrong though...
