  1. hmmm, sold yet... got the adjustment tool?
  2. stop being technical may need to retune the ecu i guess... hmmmmmm
  3. I haven't been defected yet this is more a preventative measure... it's just easier than trying to reason with 'them'... we all know what 'they' are like here
  4. std rims are 7inch?, so ur new ones are 2.5 inch wider... all outwards by the sound of it? so your rear track is like 2.5inch wider... hmm... certain authorities won't like that i believe (i think 1inch wider is ok?) but with an RB31 in there i guess that's a minor problem really...
  5. i'll be looking for an entire exhaust from manifold to tip... but i'll keep yours in mind if i can't find what i need here...
  6. mmm nice rims... seen em before... UAS pic
  7. as title says, will an RB20DE NA exhaust manifold fit onto the RB20DET block? Don't ask why i want to know... but does anyone know for sure if it will?? I assume it would thanks
  8. i'm not a big fan of the 300zx shape... but this one actually looks good... its not rice, it actually looks tuff. what do you think?? (its being offered on PMS so some of you have probably already seen it) http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/?/au/...sp?StockID=2057
  9. as SLYSX said: enkei 5 spoke off UAS: http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/magwheels_new.htm down the bottom - $570 a rim
  10. my 225's barely fit on the front (it is lowered, but normal suspension travel would end up at the same place). Theres no room outwards (i've had to bend metal lip upwards), and maybe 10mm inwards(?). On the rear its a different story, 235 or 245 tend to fit ok. 265 would probably fit if you rolled the read guards. If you roll the front guards, the plastic inner lining will probably not fit anymore. you may get away with fitting 225 front & 245+ rear on those wide rims... would give that drift look
  11. why dont these offences attract the same demerit point loss as everything else?? and anyway, doing a burnout is far less dangerous than speeding or running a red light... both of which already attract demerit points as far as i know. I don't understand what they classify as hoon behaviour anyway... ok maybe doing an extended burnout or doghnut is hoon behaviour... but surely not screeching your tyres, cos your average fwd will screech if you accelerate when on a white line... and most rwd cars will wheelspin if you are a bit too aggressive with the right foot speeding is already covered under other laws defects are covered by other laws what else is there?? accelerating hard in a 4wd u are a hoon (no wheelspin here though)?? maybe if you speed in an import or a car with a loud exhaust you are a hoon and the demerit point system doesnt apply to u?? or if your car is lowered and you have a big GT wing and you spin the wheels you are a hoon?? is an executive in a magna who is speeds or screetches the tyre a hoon also?? I don't get it... and i don't see how they can implement it
  12. so i assume they are the platform height adjustable ones (no the screw type adjustables like tein)? do they have the different height grooves already machined into them? do they come with springs/strut tops? got pics?
  13. these shocks still around?? i bought some bilsteins a few months back, fitted the fronts, just got back from holiday and was planning to fit backs... but went under to check it out and i need shocks with a U shape at the bottom, not the circular fittment like the front. Thought i had wrong shocks, and went down to JMS to confirm i had wrong shocks... only to find i had the wrong cradle! a GTR cradle I assume?? To the point... are your rear shocks going to fit mine (shocks have U shape fittment) and are they in ok condition (what do you mean by they have to be rebuilt??)... if so would you be interested in selling just rears or doing a swap for gtst rears with me?? my shocks are 2nd hand, but hardly used by the look of them (got them off bbenny) PS- any pics?
  14. Can't remember the name... They were in the backstreets somewhere near the basketball stadium. They used to powdercoat the aluminium windows for the company my dad worked at. I don't know if he does work for the public though.
  15. I got the rocker covers powder coated bright red on a 4age i had years ago. worked fine. I got my alloy rims powder coated about 2 years ago and they were acid dipped and glass beaded as well. The powder coater should know what can and can't be done though... Painting is probably easier/quicker/cheaper.
  16. yep u need a spring compressor to get the new springs on ( and probably to take the old ones off safely as well ). I've heard they cost about $20 but i don't know where to get one.
  17. i got quoted $149 a pair for king springs 'lows' (lowered 30mm) on the weekend. That's not fitted though.
  18. i think you need to put a vaue of 120kw @ 90kph for whatsisname's graph... it looks freakishly good around that point at the moment it will shape it more like the dyno graph with that value in... just being picky... it's got an awesome mid-range though... i calculate an average of ~35rwkw extra between 80 and 130, with as much as 60kw at 100kph... that's almost like having an extra NA rb20 at the rear-wheels at 100kph any chance of graphing an RB26 with around 260-280rwkw/awkw on there... would be interesting to see the difference in the power delivery.
  19. I know what you mean about our perception of what good handling is. At present my car is a bit harder than normal at the back, but very hard and stiff at the front. It handles great f you are on a race track withoutany bumps.. turns in very well, feels settled during cornering. But i'm using the car more and more as a daily driver (I haven't been on an SA cruise for at least a year!) and i just can't put up with the bumps anymore. I need a comfortable ride but with better than normal handling... and also a ride height which i wont get scared with on our backstreets which is what you seem to have achieved (apart from the ride height)... PS: your car looks real nice at that height!
  20. I have bought some Bilstein shocks and i have been trying to decide what springs to get. The shocks have 4 grooves to be lowered about an inch maximum, so i was considering using stock springs and lowering it an inch. This would be a good starting point as my current setup is shocking and I don't know what 'normal' is and what 'good' should be. Do you think my idea is sensible or would you recommend going straight for the springs you got and lower up to an inch to get a look that I like (i assume they are lowered springs already though). I also like the idea of progressive rate springs... what sort of price am i looking at for the springs. Thanks
  21. I think i might go to D1 for the susp then as they can probably fit it in sooner... also they are close to where i live. I wouldn't mind some advice on springs at the same time (mainly if my current ones will be ok with the shocks) so if james knows his stuff, it sounds like a good idea.
