Hi all, i have found two r34 gtr getrag gearboxes in japan one with 2000kms and the other with 5000kms. pricing looks mighty tempting. I was however wondering about the complexity of the conversion. I know it can be done as the guy at the Nissan dealer had done it to his. but my lack of japanese skills couldnt get much more info than that. what would need to be done? would it be hard to mate up? what other bits and pieces would i need? would the conversion be benificial? if so, in what areas (top speed? acceleration?) how strong is this gearbox compared to the bnr32 gearbox (1993 onwards with pull type clutch found in the bcnr33)? what would a box like this be worth in oz and what would this conversion cost? sorry for the MOUNTAIN of questions, but id really like to know! any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers

yes hippy, the purple set is actually a set of HKS hipermax coilovers. i'd think theyd be hell hard too. i'll keep u informed of the ride when i get them. steve, what is your view?

i paid just under 2k for them. which gtr are you talking about? hmmm... i was quite sure that the spherical mount was for the front struts. i found this set of hks too. they are for the gtr 32 as well. they fittings look the same.

amosite why wont they fit? i havent recieved them yet. theyre on their way from japan. they said it was for a r32 gtr. what do you mean? now you got me worried!

ROBOCOP The only place to get genuine r32 gtr parts in brisbane is at the westpoint parts distribution centre. they are in darra. take a chair in with you though, you have to be sitting down when they give you the prices.

im quite certain they will be great for track use. i just want to know more about the ride in general for everyday use. do you have a set too hippy? i know i should have bought something else if i wanted comfort. but these came at a fairly good price, considering what they are worth brand new. 270000 yen!

it is a nissan diagnostics computer. tells you everything about the car and how its running.

i just found out that the fronts are 12kg/mm and the rears are 8kg/mm does this mean anything to anyone? surely this is going to be a hell of a bumpy ride.

dont know, but gavin woods told me that they are the only ones outside of nissan that have one.

merli, what brand are these and is it easy to get replacement bulbs for it?

thanks maxx for being so understanding. not many people seem to understand the heartbreak and headaches of importing something yourself. shops can sell cheaper because they do it all the time and its their bread and butter. my friend is negotiable. please make your offer guys if you are interested. sensible please guys. thanks

christian, cutting the slit in the boot is not necessary. just put some of the oil on your fingers (by this time they should be all greasy) onto the thick part of the shifter. and lube up the inside of the boot. a friend and some force should get it on quite easily. most of the nissans are pretty much the same if not exactly the same.

ecr33's have finished. i still have some for gtr's 32 and 33 though. guys! guys! guys! whats this soaking in hot water and brute force!?!?!? your car is your woman! why didnt you whip out the bottle of KY Jelly and Lube her up!? heheheh just kidding! next time, just dip your finger into the gearbox and use the oil on your finger to lube the necessary areas on the stick. and it should just slide on!

yes thanks prank. are you enjoying it? i think for that sort of money, it is a good buy. other places are selling well over 600, for that price, i would really have to think about it.
