Daz used multi layer hi temp silicone hoses for the oil return on the turbos. Bought the right bends and cut them to size. Very neat and tidy. I cant believe how expensive these were! Rear turbo. The gooey stuff between the the return line and the block is not oil. Its a sealant for the gasket. Front turbo Secured by worm drive clamps

Project R34
AtomicBomberMan replied to Link Auto's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
ive bought and used the nismo arms before. I had the whole set front and rear in my R32 gtr. A little bit pricey for what they are, which is essentially the stock arms painted silver with strengthened nismo bushes. If you must go down this route you are better off just buying the strengthened nismo bushes and have them pushed into your standard arms. there are a few extra tack welds along the standard bracing in some of the arms for that little bit extra reinforcement, but nothing you couldnt do yourself. The great thing about nismo bushes is that they are still rubber which although strengthened, will not be as harsh as a rose joint, but still does offer a slightly better feel than the standard bushes without sacraficing too much comfort. This is a good choice for a street car with no legality issues. If this is not a concern and you head to down to the track every once in a while, i think the ikeya formula arms are hard to beat for direct response and feel, with adjustability for a circuit setup if required. Or alternatively you can dial in a setting that allows for lesser tyre wear on the tyres (especially the rear) for regular road driviing. The The nismo arms, like the standard arms are fixed into a position where it causes excessive wear on the inner rears. Although great for traction when youre giving it some around corners, is not the ideal setup for a road car, especially when youre running an expensive tyre package for daily driving. With adjustable arms, you could dial some or all of this out to give your tyres a more even wear and allowing your them a longer life. The ikea formula arms may be a little more expensive, but for that little extra over the nismo arms, the gains far outweigh the extra cost. Whatever you end up choosing im sure ivan from hi power can help you out! One thing though DO NOT BUY CHINESE ARMS! -
Ok, sorry ive been a bit quiet. Photos are all over the place, and i need to get them into some sort of order. I've got so many photos. sorry if the picture sequences get a little long winded. I'll try to pick up where i left off. Here is a front view of the turbos mounted on the manifolds. For those with a keen eye, you will notice that there is a 5mm stainless spacer between the manifolds and the turbo exhaust housings. This was because there was a clearance issue where the turbo housing slightly interfering with the manifold. I think this was due to a mixture of brands, HKS manifolds, Apexi Turbos and Tomei dump pipes. This is another example of where Daz doesnt cut any corners. Any other builder would have probably jammed in a few more gaskets to get the clearance and be done with it. Instead he had the spacers custom made using a laser cutter for a neat and professional finish. Here shows the fittings and lines to the block. Here is Daz sorting out the fittings on the turbos Here shows the fittings to the turbos On goes the lines Water and oil lines were fairly tight together All hooked up......... BUT.................................THE LINES LOOKED SO MESSY! The lines in the Apexi kit were way too long. Daz disconnected the lines and resized them all. Mr RUZIC (Ruzic Engineering) and Dr Tran (9krpm) were both there for Quality Control. Daz seems to have a tool for EVERYTHING! MUCH MUCH BETTER! Disconnected once again to put the heat sleeves on. Getting closer to the DESIRED look! I really hope the Apexi's give the response i'm looking for. Good to know the Z-TUNE uses IHI based turbines too! If my car runs half as good as the M-speed or Z-Tune i think i'll be a happy man!

thanks. i have a few quotations to come in yet. i will let you guys know how i go. GGTTRR, did you look at any other rotors? ie brembo alcon etc? why did you choose the ap rotors?
-
does anyone know the pcd of the holes in the rotor?
-
cheers handbrake, i noticed you had them for sale. little concerned about the cracking issue though. did the hats from the brembos bolt straight onto the ap racing rotors? from memory the ap rotors are 378x34 right? how much did you pay for them? where did you get them from? why are you selling your brembos? what do they measure now?

Hi all, first up, i don't have a 35 Gtr. I have recently purchased a some 8 piston brembo calipers that will accept up to a 380mm x 34mm rotor which is the same as the ones on your vehicles. I have asked nissan and they won't sell the rotor's separately from the hats. The best price i can get is 1200 per rotor and hat! I will need custom hats anyway, so this option is of no use to me. I don't really want to use gtr Brembo rotors because of they tend to crack due to being cross drilled. I know a lot of the 35GTR owners dont want to pay top dollar for nissan/brembo rotors and hats because they can buy rotors much cheaper elsewhere. My questions to the R35 owners are 1) What are you using? sizes, pcd, specs etc. 2) What did they cost? 3) Can you use the standard R35 Brembo/Nissan hats with the other brands ie ALCON, AP RACING (do they have the same pcd as the standard rotors?) 4) Where can you get them? I would prefer a big brand like Alcon because i know they should be on the shelves here in oz. PWR are the distributors and they are just down the road. Or can you suggest something that is readily available?

Hi all, I have a USED oil cooler made by International Radiators http://www.irl.cc/ or http://www.serck.cc/oilcooled/product.htm These are a very solid core made in England unlike the tinny Chinese rubbish. The core is a 34 ROW core and measures approx 280mm x 260mm x 50mm. Uses dash fittings. These share the same design as the Earles oil coolers which are were used by Nismo. In very good condtion, and fins are straight. Item is in Brisbane. Price $150 Please call or sms 0417755890 cheers chris
