  3. i dont like people who derail trains between me and my car. it's sitting loaded on a train in adelaide waiting to head to perth... fortunately it got to adelaide BEFORE the derailment, so it's on the first train to leave hopefully on monday.. anything that arrived after is backed up big time.

  6. there was a RB25 powered VS ute around perth a while ago.. the owner now has a VQ30 powered 32 4 door. apparently it was just a matter of swapping the front cross member over to a VL one, and a few other minor changes, and it was in. ps.. that purple/polished engine bay looks awesome brad
  7. do you think if you turn the car off for 4 minutes, the oil is going to go stone cold and all vanish into the sump?
  8. you cant fill out any transfer papers, they are vehicle registration transfer papers.. firstly, you cant transfer rego to someone who doesn't have a license in the given that state (ie, you dont have a victorian license, so you cant transfer vic rego into your name) secondly, the car isnt registered anyway. just get them to write a receipt stating they sold you the car for $xxx, and all you need to do is take that to the pits when you register it as proof of ownership.
  9. actually the fans on RB's are clutched, they apparently stop moving at higher speeds. but yes, they are constantly spinning at idle
  10. so what about cars with no oil around the pistons, and oil contaminated with fuel? maybe we should all leave our cas on 24/7 then... only 5% engine wear!
  11. only popped one box in the leggy.. the second box is still going strong after 30+ launches and lots of tiptronic shifting... first one was obviously just a dud. had the leggy for over a year now, i wanted more power, and its not worth spending $3k just to convert it to manual, then stupid amounts to be the first person to upgrade turbo's, etc... might as well come back to something that is tried and proven, and i know skylines and RB's like the back of my hand. and yes kark, you'll be familiar with 31 tail lights. pits shouldn't be an issue.. as far as they are concerned, its a "stock" RB25, and has R33 brakes with bigger than 33 rotors on it, and upgraded suspension.. should pass easy.

  14. yep.. the only time we realised we hadn't plugged my mates thermo fans back in, was when we pulled into the macca's drive though, and it started to get hot. most fans will stop, or slow down when the car is moving.
  15. why would keeping it running be better than turning it on and off? that is, unless you want to waste fuel, and wash all the oil off your cylinders.
  16. the PFC will flash the engine light when it reads knock over a certain level.. so they may have pulled a bit of timing out, but you can also change the knock level the engine light flashes at too.. if you think its still pinging, they might have just bumped up that figure.. either way, speak to the workshop about it, they SHOULD help you..
  17. they should dip to around 12 when on boost, and a bit higher off boost. this is the dyno sheet of the car i just bought.. it probably runs a bit too rich, but its safe..

  23. take it back to the workshop who tuned it, and tell them you think it might be pinging, and would like to know what the AFR's are like
  24. so i bought another skyline.. it's an R31 Passage GT, pretty stock...
