  1. i'm pretty sure i know the car you're talking about... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sl...ay-t191543.html in which case, it was proven to not be a magna engine bay. there is NO way a 26 will fit north/south in a magna engine bay as its not very deep, and designed for east/west engines. there is also NO way a 26 will fit east/west with a gearbox attached to the back of it, my legnum had a V6 which was almost half the size, and the gearbox used to hang under the chassis rail as it was, let alone with a straight 6.
  2. front or rear wheel drive? or even a very doubtful awd?
  3. any pics of it? i find that hard to beleive, as its in the same boat as the legnum/gto. they all run east/west engines and no transmission tunnel, so would likely have no room to fit a 26 in, especially not a gearbox.
  4. just give it the same treatment as your track car, cut enough metal out and it will fit.. might just be in the passenger seat
  5. sorry to burst your bubble. they are not a fun car to work on.. 12+ hours to remove and refit gearbox, and i've done it 4 times...
  6. i've had a legnum, and there is not a hope in hell of fitting one in there, they have an east/west V6 with gearbox and transfer case all in the engine bay. the 6A13TT engine + W5A51 gearbox is probably about as long as an RB26 by itself, so even an east/west fitment of it wouldn't work.
  7. i might bring the shitter out.
  8. about 17psi, to be honest i think that figure is a bit 'high', but when i get it retuned its going for 20 pound cheers. just depends how you use the throttle, they are perfect for normal driving, but give it a chance and it will paint lines in the first 3 gears.
  9. the manufacturer of the tyre states a 235/45R17 can be fitted on a minimum rim width of 7.5" and maximum of 9"
  10. 17x9.5 -19 i can gather from his post... mine are 17x9 +15, and his seem to sit about 40mm further out like the negative offset would suggest.
  11. i don't see why it has started a shit fight. 235/45R17 is 100% legal on a 17x9" rim, and its physically the widest tyre i can fit before i encounter rubbing on already rolled guards.
  12. Dear Ghostrider, Please GTFO of my thread. Kind regards, Mitch.
  13. and just for good measure, a mates 235/40R18's on 18x10's
  14. i tried 215's and 225's on the front as the 235's rub under hard cornering, the 225's looked fine, 215's looked a bit too stretched for my liking. ended up back with 235's all round though.. they are cheaper than 215/225's, and it only just touches the guard (which has already been rolled) on hard corners, so there is no damage to the tyre. it's only because its quite a wide and low offset rim (9" +15) that it rubs, but i love how it fills the guards. 215/45R17 on 17x9
  15. put the 26/30 in the GTR simon. AWD plus the added torque will make for a pretty nimble little car
  16. mag86 - i'm actually in WA, the car came from ACT, you might see my old legnum super vr-4 over there though. ghostwhinger - still going? wow, you must like your bulging tyres/muffin tops. i don't know about you, but i wouldn't even consider a 235 to be 'stretched', as you can see the rim is contained within the tyre...
  17. i think you'll find a 235/45R17 is completely legal on widths from 7.5" up to 9", with 8" being the apparent optimum width. not to mention a 235 is the largest tyre i can fit on those rims without having issues with rubbing etc, also from a price point of view they are the best bang for your buck. so in your opinion it's too small, and you don't like my wing.. that's fine, i setup my cars how I like them, and if other people approve, then that's just a bonus. ps, can you please point out which part of the rim is exposed in the below picture?
  18. rear will be lowered once i get some more grooves machined into the shocks.
  19. what wrong with 235/45R17's on a 17x9?
  20. thought i'd chuck up some info on my car... its a 1989 Passage GT Forged RB25DET Polished and ported head RB25 gearbox with short shift Tomei technical trax 2way diff 600x300x76 FMIC and piping KKR480 Turbo Koni adjustable sports suspension R33 4 pot front calipers with slotted rotors R33 2 pot rear calipers with slotted rotors Power FC + hand controller PWR 42mm alloy radiator bucket seats Sparco hyper fang II 17x9 +15 all round 3" turbo back exhaust Z32 AFM 750cc powerflow injectors RB26 coil packs 700hp fuel pump Gates timing belt clear indicators auto spoiler ADThree R30 rear lip boost, oil pressure, oil temp, coolant temp gauges few other bits and pieces... spending a bit of time tidying things up now.. main focus is the engine bay at the moment.. looked like this when i bought it.. after a bit of cleaning/removing/hiding, its now like this... need to get a greddy plenum to get it how i want it thought.. thats the next purchase
  21. and then another $5000 for another unknown condition second hand engine when that one goes pop. anyone who wants to make reliable power will have their engine built, that way you know exactly whats in it, that it can handle the power, and that its in good condition.
  22. of course you can't, you have a differing opinion!!!
  23. get the owner to write you a receipt saying you purchased x car, for y amount, and both sign it.
  24. black, leather, dumped and good offset rims is all you need.
  25. they seemed to have stayed around the same price... here's some on my mates silver S2 for you...
