sounds like mine.. all the suspension work under the sun is done, and its never seen a track in 2 years.. that said, its barely seen the ROAD in 2 years... (bunky/company car gets driven alot, skyline is almost like a monthly thing now days ) definately work on handling as your first mods (if you do any.. i imagine a 33 GTR would exhaust your fund source at 17 ) mines had handling done, nice kit and rims, and only now am i starting to push out a few more horsies.. cant wait to put it to its proper use on a track soon!

i can tell you now im jealous.. midnight purple 33 GTR was what i was going to sell my gts-t and buy... good luck with it champ, join SAUWA, bring it out on cruises and other events, and make all the other sub-GTR owners jealous. Series 3 33 GTR's got the projector low beam.. very hot looking!

cheers. i liked the white on white too, but i've had it like that for 2 years now.. (long time to not change something for me ) and the black is a nice change, especialy being a glossy black it doesnt 'hide' the rims. i didnt make them black for that 'race spec' or 'hardcore street' look.. i dont try make my car look 'hardcore' i just thought black rims would tie in nicely with my white/black theme.. i mod my car to suit me, not everyone else.. i know its not everyone's cup of tea, but hey, i like it.

i'm pushing mine around, too powerful for me with an engine in it.

im thinking about rebuilding my dead 25 as a 30... seeing as its only the bottom end that is dead... we shall see.

cant see the second pic, or cant see whats in it? the flash caused it to go funny, but you can just see some numbers on the metal plate. if you still cant see it, ill draw a nice big red circle.

here ya go.. its on the flat metal part just behind the oxygen sensor that is in the way.. (first pic shows where it is, and the second pic you can see the last couple of digits, can be hard to see)

it may be dirty.. its on the very bottom right of the block as you look in from the passenger side.. just next to where the gearbox bolts up.. if you still cant find it, ill go have a fiddle with my camera.

engine number != VIN

i'm swapping my dead 25, for a fresh 25 at the moment. and im not the most mechanically minded of people either admittedly its taken me a while (i've been lazy as i have a company car, and rarely drive my skyline...) but its not as hard as you think.. remove all the intercooler piping, radiator, etc etc.. unbolt air con and p/s pumps, take out radiator, remove all the wiring loom, heater hoses, fuel lines, exhaust, remove driveshaft, unbolt engine and gearbox mounts, and its essentially out.

its on the engine.. stand on the passenger side of your engine bay, look at the engine, and look down to the right of the turbo, and you will see "RB25***********" inscribed into a plate on the block.

you cant get fire extinguishers refilled can you? i think paul was talking about No2..

yeah, thats why it sounds like a leak. if its reporting slightly higher than usual, but still at a vacuum, it means that there is slightly more pressure inside the plenum, ie there is position pressure leaking into it.. is it idling any higher? butterfly may be slightly more open.. apart from a leak, both a mech. and elec. guage raising has me baffled.

is your other boost guage mechanical, or electrical? im pretty sure the standard one is eletrical, and runs off a sensor up the veeeery far left of the engine bay.

any loose hoses or anything? sounds like its not recording the vacuum pressure when off boost.. as if something were leaking and causing it to stay at no positive/negative pressure.

pending how long you can wait.. im swapping my engine over hopefully shortly, and im pretty sure the new one/old one both have air con stuff on them.. i'll probably pick it up this weekend, so ill let you know.
