If you can't turn by hand, theres something wrong.
Didn't you or they try turning the crank before installed into the car?
Might also wanna check the valve timing.

I have done one R33. I think there great turbos....its pretty similar to GTSS
So far on stock motor with metal head gasket and stock fuel system, we have hit the limit to 300kw @ 4wheels. I should have the dyno sheet, which will show the boost.
what gap is the plugs? i do notice on some GTRs when there gapped to low it pops during idle and fine through the rev range.
also might wanna check the O2 sensor
If you have back pressure, the turbo should spool slower since its putting pressure on the exhaust wheel. Whole idea is to get the exhaust gas out fast as you can.
Although having big exhaust can tend to have boost spikes.
Some Lancer AFM is very sensitive. Did you remove the honeycomb looking thing from your afm, because that does make a difference.
I know in some kits you get steel plate that sits between the filter and afm which blocks the direct air flow to the sensor.
Liberty GT has similar problem.
