Going for tune today. Obviously I missed a few updates . -
No one cares what you use to tow, they're only interested in what's on the trailer. That said I have a forester XT which does a pretty decent job all things considered.

From Performance Car To 'normal' Car
Sarumatix replied to Dani Boi's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I daily a forester XT. It's great for getting things done and not fussing around, but daym, it sucks whenever the skylines aren't running . -
The value goes up and down. I believe they will appreciate from here if looked after. At least in vic you can now move them to club plates and save some money on rego, it's a great time to hang on IMO.

Engine Occasionally "hiccups"?
Sarumatix replied to angusis2fast4u's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I had this problem and it was a bastard to track down in the end for me it was the AFM pins getting a dry solder joint. There is a guide on re-soldering in the DIY section. To diagnose I used CONSULT connected to a laptop datalogging all values. As soon as it happened I pulled over and spotted which value started it, AFM voltage dropping to 0. Hope this helps -
Nice one, watched just to get an idea what you were making but ended up watching it through. Good work.

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
Sarumatix replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Kudos are advertising genuines for 99 each: http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/nissan-coil-pack-individual-genuine-nissan-skyline-r34-25gt-25gt4-25gtt-rb25de-rb25det-neo-p-1164.html But I guess.. how do we know these are genuine either? -
I have done this as I had a bit of a oopsy with the old head. I have to say, it is not 'cheap' but it does work. I'll post up after first start and let you know how it goes. It does retain high compression, which is great for e85 applications, not so good for unleaded.

Hmm 41 days since purchase, should I dispute it? and what evidence do I have that they aren't genuine . Sent query to the supplier and awaiting feedback. -

Just a little update. The race between my first born and this car is currently neck and neck, however, I think sportsbet has odds on baby to win . The trust waste gate which wouldn't hold pressure. Ace Workshop pulled it apart and found a leaking rubber diaphragm and some horribly shoddy workmanship by a former owner. After some tender love and care it now looks like this: I had the wonderful task of picking apart the RB20 loom for the wiper controls. Before After I did manage to source a Neo powersteering pump after several false starts and it all bolted in without issue and lined up beautifully (except for being slightly bent, le sigh). Most of the ancillaries are now connected with just a couple of bits and pieces to tidy up. After the intake is finalised, it's finally time to get wiring. The engine bay currently looks like this: -

New Plx O2 Gauge With Bosch Lsu4.9 Sensor
Sarumatix replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Got a response from haltech. The Haltech wideband controller uses the LSU4.2 sensor. You could use a different brand controller which uses a later LSU4.9 sensor, then feed the 0-5v signal from the controller into a spare Haltech AVI channel. So... no . I have also read further information that it suggests a 4.9 is totally amazeballs better and in some applications might be worse. *shrug*.
