I'm looking at Garrett turbos and am in a similar position. AFAICT -> http://horsepowerinabox.com/HPIAB2/category12_2.htm the 5th and 6th options are the only garrett turbos I have found that have the 6 bolt housing that you require. I'm not interested in a rebuilt turbo, what other options for new direct bolt in turbos are there for RB20/25?

My dealer has confirmed that 15208 H890C is the replacement for 15208 H8911AU which was a replacement for 15208 H8911.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but i've been given a 15208 H890C filter and just before I put it on it struck me that i've never seen that number before. Can anyone confirm if this is the correct filter for a 32 RB26dett?

Well yea nothing wrong with the logic. You may not realise that your idle control valve does exactly this.. opens at idle. Similarly on some cars (supra that I know of) the idle control valve has its own filter. Re youtube: I can't fathom why that BOV would be open on a car that is making positive pressure though, that is just boost leak. Unless it was purely for demonstration.. but a pretty retarded demonstration if he then shows the boost leak continues under load :S.

That is my understanding too. Visually the exhausts look the same (have a 34 and 32 one here). The intake has different port sizes between 25 and 20 (but not between different 25s). However the top half of the plenum to the crossover is the same between 20 and 25.
