  1. I'm trying to do a similar thing but into an R32. It is my understanding that all the mounts etc are the same. The difficulty is the neo is the vct which needs the R34 ECU. In my case I also want to run auto but i'm not sure the tiptronic will fit and I don't think the turbo motor came with a straight auto.
  2. Then I can't run the VCT on the neo engine?
  3. Engine inc anci, loom, ecu + gearbox?
  4. Hey guys... Perhaps my situation is a little bit different and unique. What are your thoughts on the practicality of this. I have a relatively cheap R32 gts-t sedan auto. FMIC, Exhaust, Fuel Pump, Brakes. Car has been really good to us and we've put about 30000km on it. However, yesterday my worst fears were confirmed, a very slight tap tap sound from somewhere deep inside . Mechanic feels it is likely one of the gudgeon pins and the engine will keep going for awhile yet.. however I guess it's a wake up call to work out where to go next. The car is my fiances and she wants to keep it auto. I have a _complete_ (all ancillary, pipework, loom, ecu) RB25de NEO less gearbox out of an R34 which is in really good nick. I had a mind to put it in an old Z or K, however I am not averse to putting it in this R32 instead. If I went down this path I have everything needed already to turbo it (all the RB20det parts) however I am stumped on two problems which are intertwined. It is my understanding that the 33DET ecu will not run a 34 neo. An R34det ECU will be required to run the engine (which I have yet to find) however the R32 ECU is required to run the auto. Is there an easy solution to this? Given the additional problem of the auto box, would it be a better plan to simply sell this engine and find a complete DET?
  5. Clutch fan and radiator shroud?
  6. At idle the bov are not open at all so there is no way that they could cause a rich condition. Good luck with the sale though, I am looking forward to some pictures. I believe this is incorrect, I believe the stock BOVs open at idle but after market ones do not.. hence different idle.
  7. I do it for the challenge.. nothing more.. and nothing less. and the boobies.
  8. jesus.. so cheap for a car that's going to be stripped that's terrible
  9. http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/U...ue&AdOnTop= Realllly wish this was in Vic .
  10. In trading post - http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/U...ue&AdOnTop=
  11. http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/U...ue&AdOnTop= Looks ok.
  12. Ya that's a good price man. I hope he goes through with it.. wont be long before something like that will be worth the effort financially.
  13. Yeah I agree L series engines are awesome. But if you had a 80000km RB25 neo out of an R34 to play with.. what would you do? .
  14. Just gave the guy a quick call. "Car was owned by his Nan who is now in a home. Was pretty much in the family for most of its life. Engine is in great shape, body isn't bad with only the usual rust and the guard and door as pictured. Already been a lot of interest in this one and a few people have already made the trip out to check it out." Guy selling it didn't really know much about the car, just selling because of Nan obviously. Hope this helps, personally I want to throw some bids on but it's no C110 . I told him to please please sell to an enthusiast not to someone who is just going to strip it down .
  15. Yea I might go and check this one out .
  16. I'd love to restore it but frankly that looks like a buttload of work .
  17. Did this end up selling? Doh just found the other thread has sold.. sorry for needless bump.
  18. Aha awesome thanks guys does sound like a pretty good idea then. I really want to do a similar thing to a C110 but given the rarity of these things i'm sort of itching to put this motor in something. I used to hate the look of them too tbh but the idea of IRS, P/S, and a nice reving RB25 for "relatively" little work and yea it would be a cute little sleeper . Also +1 for sticky. I think there should be sticky for all the old skylines 'conversion' given that RB's are a pretty obvious choice and i've seen quite a few especially in japan.
  19. Really want to get my hands on some wiring diagrams for an R32 gts-t. Anybody stumbled across these or has a copy I can photocopy or some such?
  20. No wiring diagrams at all?
  21. I'm looking for a project car to drop an RB25de into which I picked up relatively cheap. I spotted a very reasonably price R30 hatch today which I had never considered before. After some searching I can find surprisingly little information about these cars. What suspension is in the rear? How difficult would an RB conversion be? Are they notorious or something? All I've heard is that diffs can be difficult to source.
  22. After bumping into Wanzi at the 1000 steps I thought I'd see who else is a regular there? I've seen a few skylines but it's hard to say hi when most of the time the owners are probably somewhere up the hill . Yesterday we managed to see 4 lyrebirds of which 3 were having a dispute over territory and having a sing off. Which ended in the adult chasing the kids down the steps right in front of us was fantastic to see. And for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about -> http://www1.visitvictoria.com.au/displayOb...90000/vvt.vhtml
  23. Tried searching for these but didn't have any luck Has anyone seen an R32 wiring diagram for the climate control system that is in English? Auto elec had a shot at fixing a climate control system that had a 30amp fuse put in it.. and then shorted *sigh*. Traced the problem to a pair of wires... but cannot seem to find where the wires come out (without tearing the car apart obviously). Ps. It would be super handy if a list of all the wiring diagrams available could be put in a sticky somewhere ^_^ as there are literally hundreds of threads with diagrams attached in or linked off site.
  24. This is the model without IRS correct?
