  1. Not really a sensible argument Terry. For starters my parents (not) in law just bought a 1949 Vauxhaul Caleche through their club which still runs strong even though Vauxhaul hasn't actively sold cars in Australia for 30 years (I know GM but..). Infact I might argue the opposite that it's only when a car stops being made and becomes collectible and desirable from a heritage point of view that model and period specific clubs can work. However the critical thing is why have a 32 specific group? What makes a 32 so different to a 31 or 33? What specifics would a 32 club cater too that an R chassis club wouldn't? At the moment it's historical, 4-door, stagea.. etc forums with R35 getting pole position . I think it is much more likely that in the near future this club may need to move to R sub-forums and V sub-forums (yes Terry, they do still make skylines too they are up to V37 now and I think V38 is around the corner?). All that said as an avid R32 lover (I own 2 already ) I'm never going to say no to such a group .
  2. I'd love to own this thing! 25k seems a bit high though
  3. I'll take the other GTR BOV. Postage to melbourne. ... and then I read the rest of your post I'll take the GTS-t.
  4. I agree, I totally love the SR20VET and would import a X-trail GT in a flash if they were eligible . Alas 2 things strike me, firstly that such an excellent engine as this only appears to be applied in one car and an odd one at that for such an engine and secondly that all performance cars to come from Nissan have been V6 since the end of S15/R34. Still I like you hope for an I4 S platform in the future , just that aside from VET options, the VQ engines totally out perform.
  5. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ne...&hl=VQ30DET I'd grab it if I could afford it, assuming it's in good nick. Perfect engine for a silvia, no doubt if nissan went down the S platform again it would be V6.
  6. If it's someones word against yours then you can try the line that it was taken out of context etc and was not publicly accessible. Therefore it is only whoever ratted yous word vs yours. I can't see how they can carry a strong case against you for that, and you certainly can take your case through unfair dismissal. However if you hate the place, why bother?
  7. EDIT: lol just found out all my friends have pulled out already >.<
  8. how much for coilpacks?
  9. Still have to go and clean up my rear bar from them lol
  10. Just want to put in that I have bought a skyline off the Count and it's been an absolute joy with no problems at all and was as reasonably priced as this. Would buy from him again (if I needed an R33 atm ).
  11. Which is pretty much the point of this thread. I want to know how people have actually killed turbos, with their best guess at why. I know they can die in a variety of ways so I thought it might be useful to have a thread dedicated to such fatalities to try and see just how often.. and how bad it really is. I appreciate that the information is definitely not scientific nor should any story be taken as gospel. It is potentially just as important that only 3 or 4 people can actually post up. Perhaps it doesn't happen quite as often as might be thought? I really have no idea thus this thread.
  12. After going through a lot of second hand turbos and being told they are 'dieing'. I have been told by a few sources that the stock turbos are not worth leaving on if there is any signs of wear because they can send chunks of ceramic through the engine. I have started to wonder just how tough these things can be. After some quick searching I found surprisingly few threads of people actually totaling a turbo. I'm looking for anyone's actual experience of turbo death, how long they had, what signs they saw, what they were doing when it died and whether any damage was actually caused as a result. Thinking of totalling up the results and having a some summary stats .
  13. How hard are these? Similar to stock or like driving on solid blocks?

  16. No one seems to want autos I picked up a 32 gts-t auto for 4G.
  17. I have one of those too and he said the same thing to me . He also drove it around in Melbourne and said it goes as well as it looks .
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torque It's the ability to apply force, or in other words the amount of acceleration at a given instant (travel of a piston onto the crank, multiplied by the gearbox, diff, wheel size etc etc). Power refers to average power or "the power put out by an engine is equal to the force it exerts times its velocity." So the average of torque over a particular range of velocity. Generally quoted as either through the gearbox (preferably in the 1:1 gear) and the rest of drivetrain as "at the wheels" or simply from the crank. In real terms cars with higher average power have more torque over the entire range of useful revolutions. Comparing between different engines and especially different cars gets very messy when you factor in different strokes, gearboxes, diffs, wheels etc. There is also the consideration of useful torque, which is torque which isn't going to simply spin the wheels by overcoming the friction between the tyres and the ground. All in all, any generalized comment about such matters is fairly meaningless .
  19. Awesome, this conversion has been done a few times now everytime the thing gets to running, the outcome is great! wish you luck and keep this thread updated!
