So I want to check out some of the car parts offerings in Tokyo.. but I can:t work out the autobacs website. Can anyone help me out? is there new and used autobacs shops? are there any near akasaka (Roppongi).
  10. Absolutely will be there! I saw the GTR win today on TV and the NSXs spin out :D Ithink I might have suggested meeting up for fuji in a different thread :D
  11. I am aiming to go to this too! want to meet up? I'm thinking of going down the hirecar route if you want in. also I will be in osaka around the same time
  12. I'm here till the 6th! Such an amazing place! The rail system is confusing at first but absolutely excellent.. we went on qantas but i'm sure jetstar is cheaper. I just want to know if there are any interesting car shows or races on near Tokyo atm
  13. In some ways I completely agree with the view. If you only got one car to race in your life, a GTR would definitely hide some of the pleasures involved in pushing a car. Simple RWD platforms in particular provide a much more in your face experience. That said, once you take the time to understand the GTR, it still provides the same pleasure... it's just not pushed into your face. Call it a more subtle car. The new GT-R appears to follow this philosophy much further to the point that if you expect the car to yell and scream about when it's doing its thing, the GT-R just wont make any sense to you.
  14. Wow what a fascinating read, opening another factory is an interesting move indeed!
  15. Early model GTR 296mm, I thought cars with 296 fronts also ran 296 rears? The brake dude I was talking to must not have had any idea what he was talking about then . Put me down for 296 front 280 rear then cause that is definitely the sizes I have.
  16. What about R32 GTR 296mm to 324mm?
  17. I'm in on this one for front and rear rotors and pads non-slotted. But I have some wierd mix of GTR fronts and GTS-t rears, so i'm trying to get a set of GTR rears asap.
  18. What size rotor are those calipers for? if it's 297(6?) i'll take them with post to Melbourne.
  19. Use a puller mate. No 2 ways about it I'm afraid.
  20. tick tick tick... gonna be a sticky lifter. Learn to live with it.
  21. What is a good thing?
  22. I've done that before and been sent rotors with so little meat they couldn't be machined. Would rather spend enough money to ensure I get something decent, was thinking RDA non slotted?
  23. The car is a 4 door 32 with RB26 and AWD. I appear to have R32 gtr fronts (296mm rotors) and 280mm rears. I killed my front right rotor (got stone in pad.. owch) so I need new rotors and pads for the front. I thought it would be wise to do the same for the rears (might be able to get away with just new pads, seems to be a bit of meat left.. but I don't really enough to be sure). I'd like to take the car to the track a bit this year. I don't have a massive budget this year and I desperately need a new clutch, so I was thinking of just chucking on RDA rotors until I can throw some money at bigger rotors and calipers. Thoughts?
  24. yeah indeed, however I have fixed the slipping and it still appears to be getting very hot. I'm guessing that's just normal for an alternator.
  25. ya thanks for your response. It is the nut on the end that is getting very hot, although the whole assembly is about 50 degrees, the nut is probably closer to 70-80. I am not sure if this is normal, I might just test a couple of friends cars to see, I only really noticed because of the slipping belt problem .
