  1. Anyone got a spare set of RB26 coilpacks?
  2. would you accept 300? hehe goodluck with sale, i'll just keep dreaming for a few more months .
  3. Basically that is the japanese equivalent of a super car.. infact it's a lot better than one of those. It is an extreme race car not far off lemans type racers. To drive that on the street would be.. err.. funny. They are pretty much one of a kind and certainly not for sale to the public very often. I hate to think what the price tag would be too, i'm fairly sure it would be in excess of some of the most expensive exotics around.
  4. Ohh cheers mate! yeah it's the second "new" one!
  5. I got some GReddy gauges fitted and while fitting them, the mechanics found and rewired a sender unit for an air/fuel gauge. I presume the car had the gauge once (it has a gauge holder) but was taken during compliance or something. The box is sort of tan or beige with "GReddy Air/Fuel Data Link Sender" which looks similar to the pair of GReddy warning guages had installed for oil press and temp. On the back it has "NAF03960". Where would be a good place to ask about precisely which gauge belongs with that sender? I presume it is one of these: http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/greddy/gauges.html but maybe it is something older?
  6. I'd just like to take the time to thank all the fellas at Racepace for spending the time to fix my car . Car has never run as well before, sooo happy with how it's running! I had a problem with really high idle, I knew it had something to do with the idle control valves but daren't touch them on an RB26 caues the plenum is in the way. They took the manifold off and then the control valves but there was nothing wrong with them, but they had the sense to test the powersupply too! This turned out to be the problem. I enjoy driving the car so much more now . Cheers fellas! By the way, I got some gauges fitted and they found and rewired a sender unit for an air/fuel gauge. 7. Wow it's so good to see such a wide variety of responses, I hadn't really anticipated this level of interest at all . The second question of the poll wasn't well thought out on my behalf which is sad. I think it's very interesting what you talk about Public Enemy in the nature of the cars we drive. hard seats, bumpy rides, loud exhausts, all these things let us interact with the world going past. I totally agree with what you are saying, I would go further to say that with the right settings a skyline can bring you closer to the world than many other cars. To me this is precisely what a proper GT car should do and anything less is removing the Grand from the Tour! As an interesting aside it's one of the few reasons I have ever consider riding motorbikes! I also think it's interesting that most people are happy to drive their cars interstate given a good reason, I think it comes down to the same feeling I was having about driving around Tasmania. I spent a lot of the time before I left Victoria stressing that the car was fine and everything was in order, but as soon as I hit the road none of that mattered anymore. I was happy to keep driving for as long as I could (which sometimes wasn't very long mind you hehehe), I just needed a good enough reason (which was often to see the other side of the hill). I suppose this sort of thinking about cars might be confronting but I hope you understand what i'm trying to say . It's the precise reason why whenever my GF questions whether there is another car i'd like, I strangely always say no. ... Although that W12 Golf is certainly pointing in the right direction .
  8. No offense to simon intended, it is a very nice car.. but this statement is kind of offensive there are several cars in this section which could arguably be as good looking?
  9. Heheh sadly I found out you can't edit polls after you post them, otherwise I would have I should have also put a 3rd question, what car do you drive .
  10. So most of you on here drive a GT car. You might not even be aware of what that actually means though, GTs (grand tourers, gran tourismo) were born early on in motoring history as a car which could be driven right around the country (or europe more accurately). It was designed to have a nice big engine, some fairly comfortable seats, and enough space to chuck a bit of camping gear etc. The japanese sort of reinturpted that to mean, a race car. I was thinking today about how i'm loath to drive my car (32 gtr) for more than a few hours straight. I realised I couldn't really even justify why, I guess I get nervous that the bugger is gonna spit out a turbo or something 3 hours from no where. Makes me reflect on just how little GTing I do in my car. That said this year I drove my car around tassy on some awesome roads, and some shockers and didn't cry too much about it. So how much GTing do you do? and why?
  11. Be aware they came out with IRS and non IRS variants. All came with CA20e engine, which is rubbish.
  12. More 4 door representations: Getting plastic surgery yay all painted and happy (well cept for the indicators)
  13. In need of a set of GTR indicators for an R32, live in Melbourne.
  14. Damn I want the front bar.. but no way to get from WA to vic .
  15. Sadly not i've been hoping to get some GTR seats for the rear but alas none have come up at a decent price lately. Apparently they fit with only minor mods but have around an inch extra space between the sides and the material. Marco, the engine -> gearbox is all straight out of GTR, the tailshaft is 4 door GTS-4 the rest everything else is the same in both GTS-4 and GTR.
  16. On the intake and exhaust snail bits, there will be some stamped numbers.. somethign like "AR 0.74".
  17. *amused*
  18. Sounds like a really well designed turbo, reasons for selling?
  19. http://www.uras.com.au/ might interest you. There are a few suppliers around of various levels of quality. The one linked is quite good and fitment seems to be very good (at least for their 32 and S13 kits). If you want different styles you need to search for pictures of various kits, choose the ones you like, find out what brand they are, then try and get either a genuine (really expensive in general) fiberglass or copy (nightmare to fit in general) fiberglass item. I've personally got a uras front and Origin side and rear. The only other option is to find a kit which is found on a stock car, such as 400R for R33s and fit that kit. For the GTR kits however you need to realise that the panels are different and probably will making fitting a big headache. I don't really know what stock kits came with R33s, for R32s I know there is a "type-m" kit for both 2-door and 4-doors. These are made of plastic (very strong, light and flexible) and fitment is generally perfect (assuming you are trying to fit to the same chassis as the original came from), of course then you will still end up paying the same or more likely more for painting . Finally if you want a good quote I'd suggest visiting DT panels in Springvale (12 lightwood drive).
  20. Buy an R32 they don't have airbags \o/
  21. I currently have taped on indicators because I got GTR guards without GTR indicators *doh*.
  22. Lol up goes the price of RB26 units
