  1. Ezzy not sure if you have your eyes shut, but that doesn't even slightly work. A mate of mine spent A LOT of time and money getting his car engineered when he brought it into the country. It's a very nice example of an aristo. The cop pulled him over and says haha you've got around me by having an engineers certificate, pity but you'll still be going to the epa.. have a good day. I'm not joking. He also mentioned if it was older than 30 days he would have ignored it. Further more the guildlines are total rubbish.. if engineers certificates don't count for squat (which lets face it they don't) the only mods you can do are like pod or intercooler. Everything else will get you raped by the EPA. Finally if you think EPA is an isolated event, think again almost every single story you read on here and what all my friends have been telling me it's the latest cop game, pull over try and get some cheap shots with defects and then send you off to EPA regardless of how many defects. It reminds me of some communist countries to be honest (I know a very harsh comparison but hear me out) over there a lot of their legal system used to be about dobbing your neighbours in without any need for justification. Many people were taken and bashed because someone didn't like something minor like the time they did their washing (I made that up but you get my point). Police these days have no justification for what they do, they don't need to know a thing about cars, all they have to do is point at some random stock part and say.. I don't know what that is, i'm defecting you for a BOV after market turbo, jet turbine, rocket boster, misfiring system etc etc.. you CAN'T DO A THING. The only thing you can do is go out of your way to get it cleared... GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT.. HELLO? I thought we were living in Australia land of the free. And even after you manage to go through the pain of booking in with vicroads etc.. you still get a letter in the mail from EPA... so you have to go through all that. This time is not free or fun, but no one gets reimbursed for it. All because someone didn't like the cut of your jib. I'm not saying it happens everyday, but it is definately happening, you'd be blind not to see it. I think this event has highlighted just how broken the system is when it is legal for cops to enter public events with the intent of spoiling it. Maybe you think i'm being too harsh on it all, but the way I see it.. these events should be legal, if they are not (which many people seem to be suggesting) the system is wrong.
  2. The brace for the brake master, what does it bolt onto out of interest?
  3. A good discussion is going on in NS about it, more detail can be found there: http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/BBT-rui...MU-t217572.html
  4. I for one am very excited
  5. www.uras.com.au not bad quality these good fibreglass.
  6. I have absolutely no idea how to do it and most of the manual is in japanese, is there anywhere I could take my car to get a Trust Oil Pressure and Trust Temperature gauge fitted?
  7. yeah LPG is odour less, they add bad smell so you know something isn't good when you smell it . Aside from asphyxiation (not getting enough oxygen) it isn't harmful at all unless it goes kaboom. Some factory paints can give off a similar smell so maybe you just have some new furniture etc that smells similar? Incidently the new car smell, is actually bad for you .
  8. I wouldn't want a turbo that hit like a freight train wouldn't even live to see full boost .
  9. Not a skyline but a silvia this time , i'm changing the T25 over to a Jap spec S15 T28 which is BB. I heard from a mate that it is not a good idea to just connect the lines up and drive away, you should regulate the oil pressure down. This is because BB require a fair bit less oil than sleave bearing turbos and that excess oil pressure will kill the bearing relatively quickly. I vaguely remember seeing a device for a such a conversion on something like nengun but I can't find anything now. Anyone know a place I might find such a thing?
  10. here ya go best I could find from when I first got my car:
  11. how much for the CA timing belt and Tensioner Bearing?
  12. heh I don't have a single one, but mine has GTR interior anyway. It looks almost identical to two door except for like the tiniest little bit more space behind the front seats and worse looking trim .
  13. 300+ a bearing? I find that very hard to believe? you sure they are quoting for a complete hub? I think I got 4 bearings for my silvia for about 60 bucks each? Had to press them into the hubs myself though.
  14. Government roads yes? Government law enforcement? It's a social problem, it affects everyone. I didn't read you post, if you look at the times I don't think your post was there when I typed mine so *shrug* . Anyway, I think your attitude of this shouldn't be discussed here because the only way to solve it annoys me because this is a general forum for car enthusiast in Victoria and this is an issue which affects car enthusiasts in Victoria. Sure we don't mod our cars or drive our cars on these forums, but this is a place where we come to talk about what we do. We all know it's not as simple as bang some road down and let the games begin, but why be mr frumpy pants about the concept? I don't see why a few million into some big sound barriers much like what is around the freeway couldn't fix the problem and I doubt they would inturpt the neighbours views? Where there is a will there is a way, why stop yourself before you even get started?
  15. I don't know if you blinker yourself on purpose, but most things I see labeled as "illegal drag racing" are far from that. In any case all of what you have to say is completely irrelevent to my point which you agreed with. And that is that adequate facilities to participate in an activity legally are sure to reduce (if not remove) a problem that was occuring illegally. Surely you can agree there is a problem with "illegal drag racing"and then surely that makes you wonder if perhaps more facilities are needed for people to enjoy this activity legally? I don't contest that such things are not simple and probably a lot more expensive than say skate parks, but for me personally calder winton and philip island are all bloody miles away even for driving where as I can walk to a skate park and ride to a second. We have no skateboarding on the streets issues anymore. I'm not claiming the evidence is concrete or the solution easy, i'm just saying it doesn't take a genius to see the connection. Are you argueing for the sake of it now?
  16. Rage more! It was just a simple honest question from someone who doesn't know everything.
  17. This discussion puts me in mind of when I was a kid growing up with skateboarding and blading. Lots of media around our area was telling people to hate skateboarders and bladers who "hung out" around public areas breaking public property and putting passers by at risk. IIRC they even banned it entirely in the CBD. Then some bright little spark said hey, what about if we build skateparks where they can enjoy their hobby together and be out of harms way. Do you see a skateboard problem today?
  18. Very nice car mate, might I ask what paint code that is if it is a stock color? Looks very good on the 4 door.
  19. I'm in need of a set of GTR indicators (although if someone has only one side let me know ) for an R32.
  20. R32 GTR rims fit (just) i'm 90% sure 33 GTR rims will not with at least rolled guards on 4 door 32s. Exhaust length is not the same but is near enough that it shouldn't be hard for an exhaust company to get one fitted up (what I been told). Ohh and welcome, drop by the 4 door section if you want specific information I would suggest.
  21. Don't know enough about determining engine balance to be sure, but given that 6 and 12 cylinder engines have very good balance maybe this guy has worked out a way to make a very smooth 9? Don't be too quick to judge.
  22. 99% sure it's just the lights same in all that year skylines. I have seen blue and red which work quite well too.
  23. changing a bonnnet is a five minute job only tricky bit is the washer lines.
