  1. That sounds far too hot to me, wouldn't some of the parts fail much faster at such high temperatures being constantly put through it? I'd be happy aiming for what the stock specifications are to be honest.
  2. Really feel for ya buddy, such a horrible thing to happen. I hope that you catch these slim balls!
  3. Thanks a lot for replies guys, I am trying to source an EL falcon twin setup and finding that they are around 180-200 dollars new and 150 - 175 second hand which isn't that bad considering the davies craig setup costs more. However the standard wreckers places have all been stripped so you have to get these from a ford dealer as far as I have found. I am concerned now about trying to control the fan and wondering if I can just use the thermostat off the radiator. Could someone who has mounted thermo's provide more information on how it should be wired . Cubes you mentioned what not to do, what exactly did you do? . Incase you were wondering why i'm doing this, the clutch fan started flexing into the powersteering pump belt on let off (from about 5000RPM) and literally flicking the belt off. I tried trimming the blades a little but that didn't really achieve much so i'm going for a thermo setup. The fan was mounted with a large spacer which i'm not certain is stock so if anyone knows about such things feel free to let me know as i'd love to work out exactly how all this came about . The problems really started because I got an SR20 pump mounted instead of the RB26 pump as hicas was locked and I didn't need the RB26 unit anymore (and RB25 pumps are much too long). Let this be a warning that modding the powersteering pump on any RB engine is probably fraught with such dangers as there is VERY little clearance in this area . ps. It's an R32 GTS-4 4 door.
  4. Is this car in Victoria? quote name='sven laptop' date='26 Feb 2006, 10:14 PM' post='1981392'] Need a clean, straight 5 speed R33 GTS25t sedan to modify or drive as is? THIS IS IT!!!
  5. wow not much I expect, ask on these forums as they would know.. or even check out the for sale section. http://forum.r31skylineclub.com/
  6. damn my stock fan ate the shroud so I think that option is out . EL falcon thermos are mentioned in another thread. I'm interested in some photos of these setup.
  7. Usually a sign that it is on its way out.
  8. this is the fan yes? Can someone provide a picture of their setup using this and some more information on what circuit is required to drive it.
  9. Yeah i'm at monash again so you might see me around clayton in the grey 4 door. There is a nissan silvia meet on monday nights although I haven't been for awhile because my car is currently off the road pending money .
  10. I've got R32 GTR seats in my 4 door, so yeah quite possible. ohh and i'm not sure how relevent it is, but I also have R32 GTR wheels on. They do stick a tiny bit out from the guards and are 16x7 or 8 from memory. I'd expect the 9 inch wide 33 rims wouldn't have a hope of fitting without some flare.
  11. Damn i'm in melbourne? How hard are they to mount? I'm looking at two 10 or 12 inch setups (if I can get em to fit )
  12. Something like one of these? http://www.daviescraig.com.au/main/display.asp?pid=11 Can get them from a sponsor on NS: 10” Kit p/n 0045 $110 12” Kit p/n 0062 $170 16” Kit p/n 0066 $250
  13. I need to replace my cooling fan as it was bending so much it was knocking the powersteering belt off (RB26dett in a 4 door). Any advice on what to look at? I'm considering something like a 12inch fan.
  14. awwww hehe I always wanted GTR front and rear flare .
  15. Do it to my 4 door :D:D RB26dett powered 4 door GTS4 .
  16. I have a GTS-4 4 door with an RB26 in it (and a few other GTR bits). They can be modded to drive pretty much indentically to GTRs (almost exactly the same drive train) however they do suffer from the small engine and bogging down. I wouldn't want to compare to an R33 though, very different cars.. R32s are a lot older, expect to notice the differences in age very very quickly .
  17. I installed a bosch 044 in my car myself for less than that (including replacing all the piping). The pump itself can be got for around 300 from memory and is comfortable up to something like 700hp at the fly. They are noisy at times though.
  18. haha drove my car ehh? apparently it's all done now.. can't wait to pick her up . And awesome at the UTE!! After seeing that silvia ute drifting i'd want one . Any more news about this cruise? i'm officially finish with uni on the 10th :P.
  19. Hey mate, I went to hong kong this year. Tis a bit tricky getting speciality parts like that. The only place is the northern end of Mong Kok that I could find, i'm sure there's better but that's a good place to start. Also they don't really drive nissan turbos there, lots of toyota and honda so it can be a real challenge getting anything nissan, that said there are some nuts GTRs too. There is a hong kong skyline forum which you could ask on but I seem to have lost the URL (I left it on a PC in HK actually ).
  20. I just noticed my unit is only pumping hot air now .. bugger.. I couldn't find this plug that you are talking about either .
  21. *cry* if only I had 6000$ ohh my .
  22. Bump, anyone?
  23. Got just the brackets for mounting the headunit and din pocket? $30
  24. Ohh something realistic like 30 bucks I guess. It's more just the difficulty in tracking them down than anything, don't put yourself out.
