hey be aware the money suction doesn't end now . I thought when my car was getting complianced that the pain would be close to an end. But I was wrong just letting you know to be very careful now, reg + insurance is an easy 1500$ right there. Congrats on finally getting it though, good feeling finally seeing your car hey . Hope things are smooth for ya, yeah and i'm in the same boat as you.. finally get my car and I can't even afford the cost of sau membership :D.

I have a GTS4 and it has ABS. You can check by looking at the model number (blue plate under the bonnet) if it ends with something like AB (I think the B stands for ABS). There is a thread here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ht=Model+Number that explains all the model number meanings.

Purchased it early november.. it was a LOOONG 5.5 months waiting till I could even see and touch the car let me tell you . And it's only just come back from being tuned which is when I could really let the car loose (came from japan with some crazy settings, who knows what they had been doing to it before it arrived ). Heheh yeah it's a 4 door, I didn't even know there was a 4 door GTS4, guess they must be pretty rare here . -

Yeah the car was reaally tidy actually, only a few tiny traces of rust on the underside where it has been jacked up and one panel not finished properly. It all worked out to be surprisingly close to the estimated cost, although people interested in doing it should definately be aware there are still a fair number of expenses which are expected (like rego and insurance). Definately suggest people budget a few extra thousand over the estimated cost if they want their car on the road within a week or two of it arriving. The car doesn't need anymore braces, it has one in the boot, one in the engine bay (obviously) and one on the underside, very rigid to drive. A couple of things made me start wondering if it really was a gts4 but obviously you'd expect to get a gts-t if you bought a gts-t. the first and most obvious was the AWD light and front torque meters on the dash. But then the car is pretty heavily modified so I assumed they just put a gtr dash in there for fun . It seems obvious in hindsight, but i'm not a skyline expert (heck my car is the first skyline i've driven ). 2 nights ago my mate (who owns a silvia) and I were discussing how different it felt when pushed, especially around corners and that prompted me to check the model number . It was really the first opportunity to push the car a bit but yeah even I could tell something was very different . And yeah anything listed on the mods I obviously knew about , kicking myself about the front drive assembly note though hehe. But yeah I consider myself realllly lucky with this car , also came with a carbon fibre bonnet which wasn't listed. Some more pictures if you are interested: http://www.users.on.net/~ajh/My%20Car/ -
some of you may know I recently got my heavily modified R32 4 door . Well this is all the information I was given when I bought it: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=2784 Car has come all the way here, gone through compliance and registration etc. I finally got it tuned and dynod last week (217.5 kw at the wheels). On the sheet it was recorded as a GTS4. I thought that was a bit odd and hastily checked the model number on the plate.. RNR32 . Some how I've managed to score a 4-door gts4 with an RB26dett, but i'm not complaining . I'm wondering if i'm going to need to changing anything because i assumed it was a gts-t all this time .

yeah... it's basically a stock RB26dett, FMIC (trust), blitz boost controller, zorst, I think it has Z32 airflow meters, a few custom bits for the engine (like the sump) (the car was built in japan where alot of this stuff is readily availible) and nismo engine mounts. So basically aside from having an RB26dett in a GTS-t it isn't modified. This is all the information I had when I bought the car: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=2784

Flex my car was running whacked settings. That's how it came from Japan. The boost was all over the shop among other things. You'd have to talk to Ben to see what sort of pricing you'd get to get more power. hehe yeah scott for sure . I went down to st kilda tonight and actually got harassed by a car full of "wogs" in a fully sick chrome wheeled vl turbo (with the really big dials). Was ace fun . Tell me.. where do I sign up to be cool like you and be a SAU vic member?

Took my car to Ben@Race Pace (RB26dett powered GTS-t 4-door). Came back with an awesomely smooth power curve and 217.5 rkw at 14psi. Big thumbs up . The car is a real pleasure to drive now.

Mine is dodgy too, and I have 2 of the things. The first one only seems to vent air to the front windscreen. The second has no display.. a tough choice . Don't seem to have any lights on the buttons, any more info on how to change them to leds?

Anyone know the cheapest way to get a manual for these beasts in english?

Why are R34's so expensive?

The 4 doors look better anyway . -
Any one seen decent size 32 or 33 GTR R/C cars?
Sarumatix replied to ricknismo's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I work in an RC model warehouse and I can tell you they aren't common anymore . If you want a maloo, XR6, WRX or lancer etc.. easy as . I'll ask tomorrow anyway, i'm sure they are around so i'll check out the catelogues. Good luck with your searching. Personally I want a 1/10th R32 . -
Any confirmation on prices for 4-door skylines?

Thomastown Traction Tyres in Rowville I went to these guys, nice peeps and seemed to know what they were on about .

I've got a freshly imported gts-t with an RB26dett. I've been waiting to get the car to ben at racepace (in melbourne) however it's finally going today after a week. Anyway last night I played around with the blitz computer it has and found boost. It's set to run at 2.2 bar which from my understanding is shit loads . Anyone got a ball park figure on how much power that might be producing (if boost isn't the limiting factor). I have a new 330 hp clutch fitted but it's slipping as soon as boost winds up. I don't relish the thought of buying another clutch and getting it fitted anytime soon.

I can learn to live with it if that is how it's meant to behave . I've never owned a RWD car before let alone one with an LSD so i'm not really sure what to expect . Are you saying that these LSDs always clunk at low speed?
-
Damn that looks really good mate! congrats on that one. My R32 needs a bit of work atm with 2 panels and a touch up, maybe i'll go make a visit to this guy.
-
Whenever I turn corners or park etc at low speed forwards or in reverse I hear a nasty clunk in the rear of the car along with a slight shaking. The car is newly imported and had a few worn parts that were replaced. Would I be right in assuming that the nismo 2 way lsd would be to blame for this? If so how much am I looking at to replace it.

I'm sure it's optimax. I just had optimax in my car and it smelt like something died up the exhaust. Put BP ultimate and the smell has vanished.
