  1. Clocked on today with the goal of getting the engine and gearbox out. Started well with a few minor hiccups (first time i've pulled an engine out myself ). Quite a few expletives later and this was the result: Now I just have this: To go in that: Written up a nice long to do list and started trying to get some parts together that I haven't bothered to find like master cylinders, pedals, an ECU that can handle Ethanol sensors and VCT, VL/R31 engine mounts (I think) and a turbo . I've found a place that resizes tail shafts so that sounds like a goer. Might need to get the cousin around + slab of beer and fabricate a crossmember at this rate.
  2. Part number of the ECU? Should be something like: 23710 04U02
  3. The Gearbox is off a series 2 R33 gts-t so it's the big one. I believe I need an S13 SR20 crossmember, no idea what the go is on a tailshaft. I'm tending towards a new garret items after a few bad experiences but I guess I really just want something that will bolt up without too much fuss for the time being. A stock RB25det turbo seems like a good starting point. For the engine the long term goal is E85 so 250 is sort of the where I am aiming for but for the build up I was just going to get it running. Really building this car for the fun of it and experience (first time doing it myself) although I wanted something that would be a lot of fun to take to DECA and track days (rwd).
  4. Just starting a conversion from rb20det auto 4-door to rb25de+t with rb25det manual gearbox (yes can you choose any bigger a headfeck?). To confirm I should just find an S13 SR20 manual gearbox crossmember for easiest mounting solution? What do I need to get the tail shaft to be the right length? What is the current best option for speed sensor? Would it be better to bolt on the gearbox while it is out of the car?
  5. Well I have bitten the bullet and started the build for Sally, read all about it here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/386359-help-saru-build-sally-the-4-door/#entry6162605
  6. I created this thread as a sort of build thread but i'm also looking for some advice from all your 4-door pro's (Simon?) as I work through this . This car was always intended to be a project car hence no RB20det replacement and I already have 2 other working 32 4-doors. So I have a spare R32 gts-t 4-door auto which I picked up cheap, it has a very blown headgasket but is otherwise in good condition. Instead I sourced a VERY cheap RB25de from an R34 gts, a VERY VERY cheap R33 S2 manual gearbox both have been tested in car before being removed so i'm confident they are good. My current plan is to swap turbo bits on RB25 with a RB25det turbo or if I can get the money a gt2860rs and run 7psi and manual convert. I have a very long time frame to get this done. I'm wondering about the R33 manual conversion mounts that I will need to get the thing in (auto 4-door gts-t)? I am wondering if a manual 4-door gts4 tailshaft (could be fun to find ) will get me to the right length with a 25 manual gearbox? Candy Time. The day Saru met Sally. Bonnet off and the first steps to getting the engine out. Sally's new home for a while. The three Amigo's
  7. It's because they weren't made, they were hatched, from specialised breeding facilities. Godzilla is difficult to photograph.
  8. I already think of my 32 as an old car .
  9. Yeah I bought a 33 manual gearbox for burgundy #3, still can't decide between leaving the R34 RB25de as N/A or going bezerk . Grey car has just been getting the daily treatment although I put a GT2860RS on it and my 32 gt-r rims, currently running 14psi making 150rwkw through a tired slushbox. Purple car came 2nd in AWD in the VIC DECA . Really happy with the wheels, only got them to fit the Brembo's but on reflection I prefer the look to the 32 GT-Rs. I have some video of the car in action i'll put up . I have also been working on the interior a bit, fitting things up properly and getting all the trim back together .
  10. So you can have a look at the engine without having to open the doors (when the cars are parked right next to each other leading to dents ) I would guess.
  11. nice 34 4-door, I presume is Mohsen? R'spec.
  12. Really enjoyed committing to competing in every event this year. Loved each one. Very pleased with my final placing and look forward to more track time .
  13. i've had similar'ish' issues with my 26 idling a little up and down for sometime, played with all of the aforementioned and didn't see any improvement. stock AFM setup though but I felt there was something I must be missing .
  14. it may be that you 'Aint no arab' but you do sound like a complete twat whoever you are. 'even sat in a brand new sports car' don't even know what to say to this except that it is the most moronic question I have ever been asked on SAU. Good luck with your n1 block which will magically turn your car into a brand new sports car.
  15. one would presume that if they went to the effort of sourcing a stagea RB25det, that they also got the awd gearbox that comes with it hence 'gts-t' strength gearbox? I have a R32 gts4 4-door with gtr running gear, a lot of fun as a sleeper. The clutch issues shouldn't be hard to fix, almost certainly going to be the slave or master cylinder, if it hasn't been engaging as well you might need new friction surfaces. Quite a few cars have slipped through with odd things on the plate, for example my car is apparently a gts-t according to the plate. The owner may not have wanted to cut the chassis and has opted for the stock setup, however I would agree that is a silly idea the stock setup just doesn't cut it in Aus for anything past bone stock. More likely it is because he wanted a road worthy certificate to go with selling the car and that's what the RWC provided asked for, easily fixed anyway. You should probably check with the relevant road transport authority to make sure it is currently not listed as defective. Hope this helps.
  16. lol.. must hold tongue. My rusty old tongue.
  17. Sorry if this is a noob question but I failed to find anything related when searching. I have a 93 R32 gts-t auto which doesn't appear to be shifting correctly from first to second. On shifting from 2nd to 3rd the engine's powered drops and it quickly shifts, but from first to second the power doesn't seem to drop and revs gradually slide back to match the engine speed and wheel speed. Foot flat to the floor it will hit the limited once or twice, 1st to 2nd, but not 2nd to 3rd, is this normal?
  18. It's nice driving past this one every morning .
  19. <3 <3 <3 Martin or more accurately Mario who you clearly conned into manning your camera .
  20. Thanks for the rides at the end of the day G35me, really enjoyed the experience and want an R35 rather badly now .
  21. Defs in when confirmed for 2x R32 4-doors so would like to know price.
  22. mega mini was awesome as was all the skidpan maps in my opinion. Really did have a blast this time thanks guys!
  23. Get a video. It may be a lot easier to diagnose than your interpretation the sound. Clicking buzzing whirling sounds can be normal. Either that or just take it to a proper mechanic?
  24. Ok you stir like an ironchef . *applause*
