M35 vq25dd stutters/missing
C.callander replied to C.callander's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
So on the 3 wires to the sensor there shold be 1 earth 1 12v ignition and a 4-5v from the ecu which when the sensor detects something it cuts it out which is how it knows when the cam is at, well thats the understanding i have of em. Might be a auto electrician mish -

hey guys i know this post is almost 10 yeas old but im having similar issues but my m35 vq25dd, car starts but runs like ass and shutters when cold but after 10 mins its fine n starts normal, running a scan on the ecu comes up with 0340 camshaft bank 1 circuit. i have removed my intake to clean it n have more room. apon inspection im not getting a ecu voltage on either sensor with the ignition on, i do get a 12v constant and the earth is also fine. any ideas please guys

Hey guys my 2003 vq25dd m35 stagea has got a miss/stutter when cold. Its starts like crap and hesitates and stutters when its cold but after about 10 mins of warming up it goes away and drives fine and start’s perfectly it also occasionally gets a engine cheek light. Any ideas on where to start looking

Hey guys any ideas on my culprit on my miss fire been chasing it for months, my r33 s2 Rb25de has a slight miss / rough idle which can sometimes be heard when i give it a rev the thing that makes it harder is it comes n goes. Things iv checked n fixed are checked intake for air leaks there are none, replaced my coil loom with a brand new one, brand new spark plugs, reset the timing with timing light. Im going to be getting the injectors serviced soon. I done a compression test about 3 months ago and got 160 av so should be sweet there. Any ideas or tips highly appreciated cheers

Hey guys im in need of some help with my r33 rb25de s2 thats misfiring, i recently had my car go for a wof at my local shop and when I picked it up my mechanic noticed that my no6 injector was leaking and it was also missing which it surely wasn’t doing before, i have sorted out the leaking injector and it solved the misfire for about a minute then it was back, i went along and checked a few things like vacuum leaks n with some start ya bastard and got nothing so i checked my plugs there fine, so i replaced my coils and it went away then it came back, it has done it a few times just goes away then comes back, all 6 cylinders are firing when it misfires but ones not running properly but unsure of which and why any ideas appreciated cheers

rb25de s2 compression numbers
C.callander replied to C.callander's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey man i had a fully charged battery throttle wide open and i cranked the car six times per cylinder yea its not all even results theres a 10psi variable from low to high which is ok yea was just seeing if its acceptable compression for a na that might get the cheeky turbo later -
hey guys i recently done a engine swap on my r33 and i did a compression test its a rb25de s2 and got these scores (all in psi) 1-160 2-165 3-155 4-155 5-160 6-155 so a average score of 158psi, and my question to you is this good compression for a rb25de engine, all googling give me information on rb25dets so no use to me as turbos are normally lower compression the non turbo's. cheers cameron

Finally found the issue the dam air regulator under the intake now she runs beautiful cheers guys for the help

Only reason I think its iacv is cause of this IMG_0778.MOV
-
Yea 12v constant with ignition on, but no continuity on earth
-
So I’ve found no leaks but I’ve found the earth to my iacv isn’t working, is it an constant earth to the battery or does it get its earth from the ecu
-
Yea thats my thoughts but should have jumped in rpm squirting the start ya bastard around but it didn’t
-
Haha yea man I only mentioned it so everyone knows what I’ve tried, its wound all the way in now still the lowest rpm is 1500

C.callander replied to C.callander's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks bro works now -
Hey guys i recently swapped my r33 from rb20e to rb25de s2, now it runs n drives but i cant get my idle lower then 1500, ive looked for intake leaks by spraying start ya bastard to see if it picks up and i get nothing so i replaced the intake gasket set and rechecked for leaks and still nothing, ive cleaned the iacv nothin, ive wound out the idle screw, removed the iacv plug nothing, turned the cas to see if its that but no, but also when removing the intake i got water in the engine so i blew it out then removed the plugs and wound it over to clear it out its fine now but smokes abit now any ideas on both my problems would be great cheers

Im in new zealand so we get a majority being a rb25de, but anyway my vin plate says rb25de and also the nz vehicle check site confirms stock rb25de, and it was a friend of mine that put the 20e in as he bought it as a rolling body then just put stuff he had laying around in it
