  1. I know the details and benefits of the yellow, and I know "driving glasses" normally have yellow lenses, but I personally think the blue light just "looks" cleaner in video examples. The bonus, is that the yellow Phillips is cheaper, and measured as brighter.
  2. watched some more headlight5 vids. And even though a yelow light is better in the rain & snow, the blue light just has a better feel. ,
  3. @ttcw Not sure where you are located. If your in Sydney, I recently had to replace a broken/lost key fob for my 370GT. The guy I mentioned in my post linked below, was what I think is reasonably priced, and supplied the fobs (ie main plus a spare) and programmed them both on the spot using a portable tablet, with software specific for programming keys for multiple manufacturers. Of course, give the DIY a try first to maybe save a few dollars.
  4. The powerbulbs website also do not specifically allow Nissan Skyline matches; you have to look for an Infinity G37. Are the globes the same on the G37 and its only the reflectors that push the beam in the correct pattern for left/right hand drive? Regarding the $250, they sell the Philips bulb which topped the review in the video i posted above. Whoops. either posted the wrong vid, or saw it after I posted. Its queued up at the results, so hit pause as it starts. The Phillips is considerabl;e cheaper than the OSRAMs.
  5. Brilliant! now I have a reason and a hint of what to look for, for an upgrade! Thanks! i was hesitating because I was worried an upgrade would not get me the results I hoped for. I also did a search off your post๐Ÿ‘, and I then found this comparison on youtube. I tried looking on phillips website, and the "found" bulbs to fit my car, but when I clicked on "show detail" it went npo where. So thats a no thanks. The CBB sounds and looks like a good upgrade. But I might also checkout the "Night Breakers"
  6. I used to have a V35. In regards to item 3. Fuel gauge issues are very common, and for me, it worked, it failed, I had the sender cleaned, it worked, it failed again, I gave up. most people I have read about have the issue where it never show's as being totally filled up or always sits in the red when there are lots of K's left of fuel. But maybe the dirty sender has yours stuck in the up position at the sender. Long story short, fuel gauge issues are common and almost expected. The next electrical issue you should expect are the electrical window winders failing. For this one, I cleaned my old ones out & lubricated appropriately using electrically conductive grease, and they worked perfectly & reliably from that point on.
  7. I have been wanting top update my current headlights. They are probably the originals and although working, I dont think they are as bright as they could be. One thing I have used to investigate which to buy and possible upgrades, is that sites like Supercheap and Repco (I havent checked AutoBann) have a "My Garage" which lets you set your vehicle and then shop what fits
  8. It was also an option on the earlier models, and another being heated seats. I saw some when targeting my year. Neither of which mine has.
  9. Mine is a 2008 370GT SP Coupe,. and I have never experienced any seat position memory/return. It does not have the 1-2 buttons on the door, for different driver's. Are they the "seat position" buttons you are talking about? I drove yesterday, and I noted that the passenger side actually returned pretty much spot on and did not need adjustment after reversing. But, the drivers side did after every reverse. Its not a total killer, as I leave the "side control" turned to the drivers side, and its becoming almost a muscle memory to tilt it down again after reversing. But obviously still not the best way to be.
  10. damn... I couldn't resist, and I had already found that page and read it, but will give it a little more attention tomorrow, as the first post is my exact problem, and he fixed it
  11. @sonicii I wasn't looking for an exact match of all stuff, but often there is a standout feature that is brought in a particular year. Such as a corolla first went twin-cam on a specific year. And I understand, with the different markets, the features will get a little mashed together. It was simply a question if one years manual was possibly known or suggested as a better fit overall % wise. As I said, I have downloaded the 2008 US G37 manual for my 2008 JP 370GT. I just have a very vague memory I grabbed the 2003 G35 manual for my 2002 JP 350GT. But it was vague.
  12. oooo.... i did a better search with more terms, and found one with the exact same issue! its getting late, but will read it tomorrow
  13. That was easy to find, if this is the post? In that case, he was able to switch Bluetooth on, but had issues paring the phone. Once Bluetooth is on, pairing wont be a problem. And technically, the phone is already paired and in the list of paired devices on the car. IIIIFFF I can turn Bluetooth on. I tried with the car running, with the engine off but the car electricals on, in gear in park and in neutral. As soon as you start moving, all the settings get disabled for safety. For anyone who doesn't know the trick, to do a google search of only SAU for a term, below is what I used to get the above sop quickly. https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Awww.sau.com.au+bluetooth But most Bluetooth issues found by the above are with the audio breaking up or stopping.
  14. As the Bluetooth cannot be turned on, the car does not appear in the list of devices to connect on my phone Bluetooth pairing screen. And vice versa, it does not see my phone is looking to pair. I did a search of the whole internet, but knowing this possible tidbit, I will search across the forum only and see what appears. I actually needed one of my own posts the other day, and my profile did not find it, but a site targeted search found it. So here's hoping.
  15. Last year I had my Android phone working perfectly with Bluetooth into my car. I could make & receive calls using the Bluetooth in the car and play music from my phone through the AUX; bluetooth audio for music is rubbish. I can even still see that my phone is a valid device that has already been paired to the car previously. However, now, I cant turn the bluetooth ON in the car, its disabled in the menu. Note, I have had the center computer converted to english. The only thing that changed since I noticed it does not work anymore, is that mid Dec to end Jan I did not drive the car, and battery went flat. Does anyone know of a setting somewhere to enable my bluetooth in the car? Once its enabled pairing is a doddle.
  16. So I have the car in the title, and I love that the side wing, rear view mirrors dip / point down when the car is in reverse. And as expected, they *attempt* to revert back to the original position, but fail. They appear to overshoot, and I have to manually adjust them back into position. Normally they return with a angle pointing slightly into the sky ๐Ÿ˜  I know I can turn off the tilt on reverse, but I find it very useful when reversing out of my VERY tight garage. Is this normal or common? I tried the window reset type procedure. ie move to highest then to lowest. And it did not change. Any other suggestions? Is there another trick?
  17. I dont need this, I thought maybe some V35 owners without a screen may be interested And to save clicking on the tracking link https://www.seicane.com/car-dvr-wireless-carplay-android-auto-adas-wifi-aux-dash-cam-gps-fm-rearview-camera-video-h041%3Facc%3Db73ce398c39f506af761d2277d853a92&v=alYc0hsbbFw
  18. I have a 2008 370GT SP. I also have the full manual for the 2008 G37 (not sure where I downloaded it from, but it has all the chapters with hyperlinks from the index). Short of downloading the full 2009 G37 and manually looking for differences, does anyone know of something only on the base 2009 G37, that was not in the 2008 G37? I am hoping we are not talking about options. For example, mine does not have heated seats, and therefore if it was an option that only came out in 2009, that does not help, as mine could still be the equiv of a 2009 G37, without the heated seat option.
  19. Is there also a trick that the Japanese models were one year in advance? So a 2008 370GT is a 2009 G37? or maybe that was with my 350GT.
  20. I dont have a direct answer, however, many years ago when I first got my 350GT Coupe, I replaced the front orange indicators with clear lenses. It failed the pink slip, but my mechanics didn't skip a beat, and put in orange caps inside the clear lensed indicators, and passed it without question. I guess what I am saying is, just try asking your regular mechanic. My guys didn't even check with me before doing it, they just told me when I went to pick it up. If you want a selfie, maybe go to wreckers and find a broken red plastic taillight, and cut it to fit & cover the globes; or even a smaller upper taillight from a different car. Maybe even heat it a little to conform to a shape. Just spit-balling
  21. My bad, I'm used to other forum software which lets you edit posts after people have quoted you / responded. I cant edit my posts here either. Its probably too late to bother now, things have moved on, but if it was more serious, reporting your own post to a moderator asking for an adjustment has worked for me.
  22. I once hinted that a supercharged engine would probably fail (because of emissions) and man did i get burnt by an angry member. PS: you may wish to edit your post and remove all the carriage returns. I had to take it out of the above quote.
  23. Sorry for the late reply, Ive been away from my pc since mid dec. Just to be clear, I use the cars AUX input and my phone headphone out as the source. On the phone I have major audio software to correct the short cummings in the car audio. The phone output obliterates the CD (and of course the Music Box or radio or Bluetooth), and would expect the CF card would also be of similar poor quality. So, would never actually use the CF card for anything more than to fill the empty hole or "because its there"; ie dont waste any time on this, its simply a test of an idea. Reading US Infinity G37 forum posts, they all talk about the limitation of 512 songs on a card https://www.myg37.com/forums/audio-video-and-electronics/195083-number-of-song-limit-on-a-compact-flash.html Earlier/other post "think" there is a 4GB limit size limit, only to be corrected by the 512 song limit, and thyeir 4GB limit has been because of the MP3 file sizes push the over the actual 512 song limit. What I was wondering, if the real limit is NOT the size of the card, then, you could have 100 ALBUMS, each ripped to a single MP3 file, containing the whole album of 12 songs. So, the number of "files" would only be 100, with each "file" containing 12 songs, so the number of songs would be 1200. So I guess the next possible limit would be the size of an individual MP3 file; which i have yet to read of. And if that is not a limit, then it would truly be a size limit of a CF card. So I guess a test would be a big MP3 file on a big CF card; since the car wont understand the MP3 has many songs on it. Just an idea.
  24. Redbook values have always seemed on the cheap side whenever I have looked at them. I am guessing they are more dealer/trade orientated. But, a print-out may help as a bargaining chip. https://www.redbook.com.au/cars/details/2004-nissan-skyline-350gt-v35-auto/SPOT-ITM-265550?Cr=1 I found the KM made a big diff to price, but you need to confirm the value. My 350GT only had 23,000 on the clock, but the floor mats were waaaaay to worn for so low a odometer reading (and I assumed it was wound back). Out of the 5-10 that I drove, it felt the best. Some of them really felt "tired". . A few years later of owning the car, I found the JP auction papers (in the car!) and they showed that the car has been would back 30k. At least at that one point. 23k on odo, 50k on auction
  25. It varies state to state. By chance, I accidentally came across an Australian wide one when checking for something else (for a 370GT, not legal for P's in NSW). I couldn't find that page now. Here is one for NSW https://www.nsw.gov.au/topics/driver-and-rider-licences/driver-licences/p1-and-p2-prohibited-vehicles/prohibited-vehicles-search-results?page=14&make=Nissan&model=Skyline I found it using the search terms:"2004 Nissan Skyline 350gt is green p plate legal". Basically your question. I know the 370GT is not for P's in NSW. When I was looking for my 3760GT, one was being sold by a P plater, and was actually bought by another member here, that used it as a bargaining angle. But there are a number of states that it is. I think on the page I saw it was Power to Weight ratio. EDIT: Just closing my other browser windows, and came accross this before i closed it: https://www.carsguide.com.au/car-advice/p-plate-legal-cars-in-australia-81275
