  1. The geological cause of the earthquake is plain: Indonesia has long been plagued by earthquakes and the volcanoes that usually attend such massive fissures in the earth. Giant plates bearing India and Australia have been moving north for millenniums, colliding with the Eurasian landmass near Indonesia. As a result of the immense pressure that was built up, the southern plate is dug like a bulldozer blade under the northern plate. When that happened, pressure that had accumulated for years or decades was released in an instant. As the earth convulsed, the ocean floor probably fell rapidly in some places and rose elsewhere along a fissure hundreds of miles in length. Areas that collapsed saw tons of water plunge in, causing what is known as a depression wave. Elsewhere, the ocean floor reared up, causing water to be displaced -- an elevation wave. It is likely that both effects fed the tsunamis. Think of a kid's plastic swimming pool and sliding your hand underneath -- pushing up on the plastic. It would cause a wave to spread throughout the pool. That's what happens on the ocean floor after an earthquake. This gives you and good idea of who was hit and how bad. This shows the concentration of earthquakes around the world. You can see the outlines of the plates and if you look up in the Indian you can see exaclty where it was. And last a map of the plates Next week we'll learn about why the sky is blue kiddies

  7. Hey Horus, I'm running a Legalis Super Ti on mine, quiet as a mouse and good power. Let me know if you want a listen. Fujitsubo are well know for good power with low noise. I've also drivern a 34 with the same mods with a Power Getter and boy was it loud, droned like a mutha and wasn't very nice IMO.
  8. Oh, wastegate actuator cost me $35
  9. Wow, this thread still kicking round. Well I ended up using a bleed valve and still am, very good setup but as stated boost can tend to drop off a little. This is more a top end issue and I'm not bothered as it's not noticable on the roadtrack. Boosts to 13psi and drop back to 11, nice and safe. I've got an R32 GTS-T wastegate actuator now and am going to remove the bleed valve and fit it in place, much safer with the police not being able to pick this. Also holds boost a lot more stable. End the end bleed valves are great and I think was well worth the saving from an EBC. I'll track down a dyno graph and show you the bleed sutup.
  10. Oh Merry Christmas to all too
  11. Both ara e A1. I've been to Ice 3 times but only issue is the distance and it's a little hard to get the car there and back. Since I live 5 mins from Racepace I'll be seeing Ben in the new year

  16. I think you'll find they were talking about the SAU cruise not yours you doof. Anyhoo was a good meeting last night, great to see so many people there socialising etc. 2005 is going to be an even bigger and better year and I know I'm looking forward to it
  17. If you value your life you'll rethink that......
  18. Yes and no, you do have the right to ask them to slow down but your right, what can you do if they so no? Hehe I know what I'd do
  19. Yup, pretty much! Bottom line is they don't want them here, it's apparent from the tightening of the SEVS setup and the scrapping of the 15 y.o rule. I don't see power limits slapped on the new 297kw Statesman or the 300kw GT-P but then again when was the last time you heard of one of them being wrapped round a pole. Might have somethign to do with the demographic huh....
  20. I had a quick chat as I was leaving. I don't think he knew too much about the car but it was a silver R31 2 door which he said had been dressed up to look like a GTS-R. Was a damn tough looking car. Silver and had the plates "SEVNTH". Had an aftermarket turbo and other enine work. Very neat looking car. Was very quick too but didn't get any pics sorry.
  21. Ooooooooh yar! I remember seeing it....just
