  1. I think you'll find it's worked out on lap times regardless of the car, if you pull a 1:20 or some crazy time I'm sure they will have words as we found out at the last HSV day. Remember it's a driver training day not a sprint meet.
  2. I had a pretty similar accident to this one about 2 years ago in my R33. It's not all that hard to do considering I was probably doing about 50k's. My car broke traction on a wet road through a corner. The bum came round a little and the car slipped sideways over the gutter, up onto grass, through a street sign and into a tree. The damage wasn't extream but there was a fair gap between me leaving the road and stopping. Doing 70k's and having a similar thing happen would be a whole different story and very much so considering they hit a pole instead of a sign then a tree with a bit of a run off. It's easy for me to see how so much damage could be done. It's a very sad story and I guess what I'm trying to say is that if I had of been going a little bit quicker and the tree had of been about a meter to the right you could of been writing about me and I certianly wasn't driving like a hoon or drag racing so my 3 lessons are 1. WET ROADS DON'T MEAN PLAY TIME (How many wheels spins do you hear in the rain!?) 2. EASE OF ON THE THROTLE IN THE WET AND SLOW IT DOWN 3. THINK ABOUT WHAT COULD HAPPEN BEFORE IT HAS A CHANCE TO I stick by these rules and have been a-ok
  3. Hey tiger, what kind of car pulled you over so I can keep an eye out? Cheers!
  4. I like cars.
  5. Yeah, eeeeeeasy. Mine's in the garage at home mate. Copule of minutes, beuytifull.
  6. Hey steve, this had been tried before and most people didn't much like it.
  7. Imagine a peice of cable with a loop at one end and a loop at the other, cople of u bolts and your done. They are VERY simple, unless Roy has gone nuts on his design.
  8. I would not reccomend driving an unregistered car on a cruise at all, I was fined $500 for breaking the rules of my permit and you car will not be covered by TAC etc. Big no no. Hitch a ride with another member and just rememebr there will be plenty of cruises, it's almost summer. I missed the last 2 waiting for my car so I know how u feel.
  9. Carefull Troy, dont want to sound too old mate Kinda reminds me of streetrod!
  10. Yeah thats a good point but Canberra is a lot smaller than Vic and our dragways and circuits are all out in woop woop. A perfect example is calder park. They have open drag meets on Friday nights but they start at 5:00pm. I work untill 5:30 over 100k's away so it's not really very practical but I do agree with what you said. We need a nice new drag strip in the Eastern side of Melbourne.
  11. 12. There will be plenty of cards there mate.
  13. Yeah thats what I said and I still mean it. Fact is I've been there and done it already, you don't think I was on my P's at some stage and saw it first hand??? As a GENERAL group (not all) 18-21 y.o males are hot heads in fast cars, don't try and tell me they arn't because that utter bullsh|t. YES I do admit there may be a minority group that that are very responsible but what do you think statistics show? That 18-21 y.o's on P plates are involved in the highest amount of accidents and deaths on Australian roads! I think the main problem is howo does one get experience in a turbo car without driving one? Kinda a catch 22 really. I think the main point I'm trying to make is from 18-21 thats what, 3 years? Is that really too long to wait before owning or driving a high performance car? If young drivers were forced into resonably powered cars for 3 years to gain road going experience and have a few minor bingles (how many of us didn't) I'm sure that the roads would be a better place. I think it's also a case of maturity, something not many of us had a whole lot of at 18. As for you 16-18 y.o's saying how much experience they have, go get your licence, drive for a couple of years, have an accident then come back and talk about it dont fool yourselves because you certianly dont fool anyone else. End rant!
  14. There is a Nguyen who is part of SAU Vic but different name, lets hope there is no relation!
  15. Cheers. Just so you guys know they are open till 1pm on Sat RB74's for a GT-T are $160 set Brake Fluid is $15 a bottle for motul 5.1 $25 a bottel for motul 600 They also carry all Motul oils etc too and highy recomend them but one interesting thing he said was that they havn't noticed a huge difference between the range of 5.1 fluids.
  16. Agreed. Are they open W/E's anyone?
  17. It's a tricky one. I guess I feel the way I do as I lost my last car in an acident and I can tell you now it wouldn't of happened if I had more respect for the car but the real problem is how do you get respect for it if you cant drive it? Now I'm driving my new car I'm super carefull but still I get the urge just to get it a little sideways or just put the foot down and how can yo unot in such powerfull cars? I mean it's what they are designed for, to go fast! Thats why I go to track days. I go as fast as I like without putting anyone in danger but myself and next weekend I'm goign to a driver training day to learn how to controll the car on the track. IMO it's by far the best idea.
  18. Cheers mate
  19. I will agree with that, it's not ALL P platers. I mean I was on my P's not so long ago too.
  20. Yeah thats what I'm talking bout
  21. I'd better get off my bum and do my brakes too before the next track day! You reckon that will be a good setup for my car Scotsman? Where is racebrakes?
  22. Just take your cars in and get them looked at. I'm all for doing it yourself but when your spending 2k on tyres do you really want to fu(k it up? I picked my car up from centerline last week and she's all sweet to go
  23. Yeah I'd be interested too in a group buy. All high pressure isn't the best for body kits as the painting isn't normally the best quality and it depends on the prep work. Just gotta jold it a little further back
