Race is most certainly a determining factor. Genetically no, but socially yes. When you have immigrants coming from war torn countries or countries where social and living standards are completely dissimilar to ours of course there are going to be problems. Some of these people are completely desensitised to violence and simply don’t have the respect for human life that other cultures do. Other are so used to seeing this type of problem they simply think it’s normal and then there is the small minority that bring personal/racial conflict from other countries here. Not all situations are the same of course but through my eyes it’s not completely surprising.

I'd be surprised if you couldn't get 17k for your car. Plus dont't forget you'll save on the personal import so you're actualy doing better off. Don't be worried about the import process, it's easy. The agent will do all the hard work for you If you are interested plenty of people here can help out and give advice.

I'm not saying that all dealers are the same but I've seen behined the closed doors of one import yard and I can tell you now, what you see is most likley not what they got. Usually the look for CHEAP cars with minor damage etc and they fix them here. Doing this enables them to make maximum profit. Who knows what else may have been touched up and fixed. I've seen cars come in with doors and rear 1/4's smashed and fixed. I'm not saying a repiared car is no good but when they try to pass them off as never damaged that's not good. At least when you import yourself you get to see the condition of the car as it arrives at the docks and you can be more pickey. Not to mention the money you'll save. I've imported 2 cars and I can tell you it's worth the extra trouble. Fair point on the car trade in though. I didn't have that much touble selling my 34 though, you just have to be realistic about price. What would you be asking?

Driver Dynamics have a day there soon I beleive. Haunted Hills Here We Come ! We’re going to Haunted Hills on Saturday 10th October and Saturday 28th November 2009 for trackdays. Haunted Hills is a fantastic challenging circuit in sunny Morewell (about 1.3 hours drive from Melbourne). We will be running the event as a non timed hill climb. All you need to do is line up and go, we’ll be letting cars go at 20 second intervals, so you’ll get lots of track time. As usual we’ll provide lunch, tea/coffee and soft drinks all day. We’ll also provide a fully equipped FIV with two medics, flag marshals and of course we’ll also have professional instructors. Note, that we will be allowing open exhausts at these days. I kind of agree with Troy, it's more about the types of people and their attitudes. It's easy to say harsher penalties but problem is when people get locked up and thrown into the system quite often they’ll come out worse if not properly rehabilitated. I think the only answer is a combination of better education about violent and its effects, stronger police presence, and harsher penalties combined. It's sad to think in a place when I used to feel so safe at night and think how lucky I was I didn't live in a place like the US is slowly turning into the same monster.

I almost ran up the back of a car looking at a Jenifer Hawkins billboard once hehehe! It's no different to billboards on the Tulla freeway though I often wonder how the expect drivers to look at them when they should be looking at the road doing 100k's an hour....go figure. I think as long as they don't block line of sight or signs or there isn't a bunch of cars pulled over etc it's ok.
