The whole cam situation confuses the hell out of me. Im building an RB30DET with RB25DE head, and have bought a set of GTR valvesprings. Unsure which model they are from. Im uncertain as to what sort of cams I could use? This is almost as confusing as the loom / injector situation!

Hmm. Really? I thought the tread pattern was kind of unusual, in that the grooves werent particuarly deep, so at about 40% and less tread they were quite awful in the wet. http://verle.be/2.pics/m&d/s2/gyr_hr_gsd3_jpg.jpg

Good to see they're getting into the gold-digging early.

I have Dunlop 3000A 235x45x17s at the moment. They seem reasonable. I havent hadnt with noise, but that hasnt reall been a concern for me. Before that had Goodyear Eagle F1's, which were 215x40x17 from memory. They were pretty awful in the wet, but seemed quite decent otherwise, however they wore quickly. Id tend to agree with Cubes, although I didnt have a lot of profile and they didnt have a lot of tread and were fairly slick as it was, so that could have had a lot to do with the tramlining. Before that had Michelin Pilot Sports. They were the best I've had so far. Wore well, were good in the wet, decent in dry, and quiet.

Does the GT30R come in an internally wastegated model? Id like to stay IW if possible...

.82 A/R? Im tossing up a GT30R

I've noticed several people are running Mitsubishi TD06-20g's and pushing ~250RWKW+ on ~1 bar - what are the specs on these things like? Im guessing they are rather large? Seeing as people are running as high as 270RWKW on internally stock RB25DETs, what are thoughts on similar power outputs on RB30DETs? Im also curious as to the limits of an internally stock bottom-end. Im looking at getting the head ported, I have some RB26 valve springs to go in, maybe some bigger cams, stock exhaust manifold (sandblasted/beadblasted?) and then a decent exhaust. Turbo wise im thinking perhaps GT30R with .63 A/R? Either that or spend the dollars on forged pistons and rods, and go a GT3540R with .82 A/R?

To be honest your house doesn't look that flash, yet you have a 330CI, R34 GT-T which youve clearly spent alot on, a NSX you says was $120,000 and you own 60% of, and an R31 which would be worth less than the set of rims on any of the other three cars? What the?
-
So youve got one of those cheap chinese XS Power Turbos and its making 300RWKW ok? Interesting .... ?
-
It'll be in an R31, heh. Anyway, I have an R32 RB25DE loom and RB20DET ecu on the way. Should be able to get the RB25DE loom if necessary.
-
With an RB25DE head + RB25DE loom ... RB20DET computer or RB25DE computer? Will be reprogrammed to run the RB30DET.

Finally an answer. I have new GTR springs and an RB25DE head so this is good news for me!

I dont think you really need to bother with a group buy to be honest. Also you need to get it approved by admins AFAIK. You can buy it at about that price on the Apple website through the Academic store and get free engraving and free shipping!

Oil pump question guys. What is involved in fitting an R33 oil pump? My understanding is that you need an adapter? The Jun adapter has been mentioned and quoted at crazily high numbers like $600. Is there any way around this?
