  1. this thread is about T1R's, not R1R's!
  2. tis a long story haha you'll be happy to know that swanny180 thoroughly enjoyed the diff at the track as the inside wheel doesnt light up coming out of the tight hairpin. however a crown wheel bolt dislodged about a week or two later. this broke the diff casing and required an expensive towing of his car! make sure those bolts get done up tight, impact wrench tight.
  3. nengun.com ............. its like a 6 week wait or more from japan i think autobarn sells emanage parts, but the RRP might be higher than direct from japan. give em a call o also, with emanage you need the tuning cable that plugs into the emanage blue and the laptop. its a locked special gay emanage cable worth $150 or something lame. if you can find a tuner or a friend with this cable you can save that money too now i feel like a tight arse telling you how to cut corners haha
  4. btw it can take a while to install, so DIY will save you a lot of dosh. i paid the extra $130ish for the plug n play harness, as it also includes the timing tuning ability whereas the basic harness does not.
  5. ive had 2 emanages tuned. both tuners had never touched an emanage before and one was very skeptical. both loved it and praised it afterwards as it is very user friendly bottom line; you dont need a special 'emanage tuner', just a good tuner who knows how to use a computer... which should be all try pm-ing guilt-toy if you can do weekend tunes in newcastle
  6. if you have spring compressors, you should be able to compressor the springs, undo the top bolt and move the top plate into position? i think i just aligned mine by sight? not sure if this is what you're suppose to do my first one i put together was way out, and i just used some force and twisted it in. now i know this isn't right but my point is that it never made a noise while turning
  7. hmm is it legal to have mismatched rims on the street?
  8. toyo t1r's however they are 225's up front which are a little too wide. i could take them off and put 205's to reduce sidewall flex, but i'd loose contact area. would i notice a huge improvement by downsizing tyres, or would it be better off investing the $400+ on tyres into swaybars? argh....
  9. yeah you're right i guess if i think about it logically, its going to be $1600 - $2000 for some rims and OK rubber full swaybars are going to be $500ish so the wheels option is going to cost about 4 times more than swaybars. will it give 4 times the benefits? i doubt it... (but could be wrong)
  10. could be coilpacks, sometimes putting new plugs in will fix it for a few days, then the problem comes back. is it misfiring? some owners are unsure what misfiring is which makes internet diagnosis very hard..
  11. i guess the theory of wider wheels / tyres is pretty simple. but can anyone quantify the difference (perhaps when they have upgraded to wider wheels)? as in, have people felt there was a WORLD of difference in turn in ability when they have gone from 215 to 245 front tyres (for example)? just like this thread (except this one is all about swaybars); http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/In...rs-t235329.html
  12. i go with http://wbo2.com/ if i had the choice again i have the innovate lc-1. its ok. had a lot of little issues to begin with. wbo2.com is locally made and will give excellent support
  13. i was actually wondering if anyone could say if and why the stock rims are bad for track use
  14. yeah. i got good tyres
  15. hey guys got an r33 gtst with stock looking rims, except the rears are 7.5" wide, fronts 6.5" (as pointed out by the tyre shop) i've getting some bad understeer on the track. will this drastically change if i upgrade to wider front (and rear) wheels? or am i better off putting $1000 into swaybars / subframe alignment / camber etc? cheers
  16. sorry found answer deep within sau
  17. hi what rubber is on them (if any?) and what is their condition?
  18. hey i'm just bumping this thread back up to the top to reccomend a tune from anthony. i'm loving the way my car feels now, especially coming onto boost cheers mate
  19. hey guys i pulled off my wheels the other day and decided to randomly measure my brake discs. they came up 26mm (front discs r33 gtst). dba says minimum size is 28mm. Obviously I need to replace them, but how dangerous is my car and what can it do? Should I avoid all heavy braking (unless emergency) and race tracks? Or get new rotors today because they could explode any minute? Reason I ask is because in 1 month I had planned on getting oversized rotors, so i don't want to buy a new pair of rotors for a few weeks driving! Although I do wish to go to wakefield in 1 month exactly, hence the dilemma.... cheers!
  20. your modification to the intercooler is another reason why its running rich. it mucks up the tune and its very noticable. my car only has a pod / fmic / exhaust and it runs AF's down to the 9.0's! but there is an long thread by someone on here which said to have the right emissions (NOx etc) you actually had to run rich.... food for thought
