  1. these noses are better than the old stepped noses - they were ugly as sin. This year's noses are hillarious...
  2. you guys should be happy, Lotus didn't make the penis nose you were so woried about! McLaren are so broke without a naming sponsor they got Mercedes to throw in a few cans of paint with their engine deal. Car looks pretty good I think.
  3. Last I heard before the family closed off communications with the outside world was he was still in a coma. Vegetative state is a different clinical state. "Permanent vegetative state" is certainly not what anyone has called it, because they don't use that term until the patient has been that way for about 1yr... The truth of the situation isn't terribly optimistic, but spreading completely incorrect information is not helpful. This is about the best quality information (well speculation) we have since the family shut off communication to his many anxious fans: http://formerf1doc.wordpress.com/2014/01/22/what-may-be-going-on-now-and-where-this-might-be-going-long-speculative-and-detailed/
  4. I've only ever seen a sketch of one bloke's interpretation (ie 'guess') of what the 2014 cars would look like that suggest they'll have a 'penis nose'. All the other guesses have been very different. I'd be willing to bet scarb's is miles off when the cars get unveilled. Force India looks good. Can't see the nose yet though...
  5. R34 GTR 1:59.308 I've been half a second ahead of that lap a couple of times too but keep stuffing up. I gave it an oil change for another 50bhp and increased chassis rigidity. Also de-riced it back to the stock wing and bodykit. I also had another go with a Reliant Robin (R35 GTR) - this time the '07 GTR just to see how it goes against the black edition. Makes less power... Not sure about lap times because I rolled it twice in 3 laps! Then turned off the game cursing at their great new physics model... I was just clipping the same kerbs I can absolutely rape with other cars including the R34. So it's not even a consistent physics engine issue. Polyphony just think the R35 GTR's like to turn turtle.
  6. yeah, but you really need to change the oil twice as often as scheduled on the Landcruiser V8 diesels...
  7. Had a bit of a play with my 34's setup and got a 2:00.372 Then gave in an bought an R35 Black. What an animal! 1st lap full power and lightweight mods but stock suspension and driveline, no wing, just the flat floor: 1:58.812. Soooo easy to drive after the R34! Then added clutch, tailshaft and LSD, still on stock suspension & no wing. Went back out and reeled these 3 laps in succession 1:57.367 1:56.714 1:56.015 before almost rolling it at the end of the next lap - don't clip the final kerb at Murray's corner!
  8. jeez, fast times in the R35s! i knew it would be quicker than the R34 I chose, but 6.4sec is alot! I just can't bring myself to buy a 35... Tried an LFA but they just don't make enough power to be competitive. The JZA80 Supra does have the power, but Gran Turismo has never blessed the Supra with any traction at all. In the end they both run about 2:05. The Honda NSX LM Road Car would probably give it a nudge, but that's not really a stock Japanese production car... I might try a Z32 for a laugh.
  9. Similar here, but I use the roof cam if I'm really going for a time. Otherwise cockpit veiw if it's a premium car.
  10. I just leave ABS on 1. Change TCS to 0 for each car & SRF OFF (that seems to be a global setting)
  11. I did the FT-1 seasonal as soon as the update was done last night. As GHO5T said, it's very easy, as you'd expect from GT6 by now - just like all the other time trials, challenge races & licences... Took all of two laps to get gold on that. I guess it kept me occipied for 3 minutes...Not really a fan of the car. It drives OK, but looks awful. boiracer - yeah I haven't bought those 3 other ones you listed yet. I remember being surprised the Veyron wasn't premium in GT5. Shelby Daytona is a cool one - might have to buy that tonight. Thanks! I forgot about the Cizetta V16T and the Lancia Delta - they're both upgraded to premium in GT6. Might see if I can find a list...
  12. well the Diablo (road car) is making a come back from GT3 or something. It would be strange to bring in a new car like that and not make it a premium car. The 25th Anniversary Countach is the first car I've seen that's been upgraded from a standard car in GT5 to a premium car in GT6. There probably is more, but I've got a bunch of standard cars - DR30, C110, JZA80, Soarer, RUF RGT, Zonda C12S, CWest Razo JGTC S15, TommyKaira ZZ-II, 350Z S tune or something... and they're just the ones I can list off the top of my head... So, you're right, I will be surprised if they've upgraded many cars to premium! Hell, there's still a heap of R34 GTR's that are standard cars and just 2 that are premium. They're all basically the same inside and out but they didn't bother "upgrading" them. Strange - it wouldn't be much harder than copy'n'paste...
  13. you changed the wheels didn't you? There's a bug. Change wheels and you loose the staggered rims/tyres. The standard fat rear tyres get replaced with aftermarket ones that are the same width as the front and the car handles like arse. Refit the stock wheels and try the MR cars again. Some MR cars behave badly to softer grippier tyres as well for some reason.
  14. bugger me - I found a car that's been upgraded to premium!!! Countach 25th Anniversary now has an interior You can buy the OEM 'hang-glider' wing for it, and the big rear dish is now photogenic Handles good too. Between that and the 288 GTO not being shit to drive, I'm starting to forgive GT6 a little bit... Enjoying those condensed enduros too.
  15. Fastest Lap Time: 2:02.025 Name: hrd-hr30 Car Used: R34 GTR V-spec II
  16. can we vote extra power into that one that's trying to do skids? Formula lamE
  17. pneumatic valve springs. they've always been cam actuated.
  18. That's one of several features we lost in this latest version. But GT5 didn't have 1/4mile or top speed tests to start with either and got it in an update, so maybe they'll do the same with GT6.
  19. there's been two 1.2GB updates. The "Day1 patch" and either 1.01 or 1.02 was 1.2Gb as well - can't remember which. I'm still playing it occasionally, but think it's a fair step backwards from GT5. Less features, worse menu system - the most obvious example is you used to be able to veiw cars in your Garage and get to their settings by simply clicking on them. Now to do the same you have to click on them, then change into that car, then click O three times. Nice one... i would have much prefered the handful of new cars and tracks to just be DLC's for GT5, but that wouldn't have generated any hype and probably wouldn't have got anything like the amout of sales as they did by releasing it at GT6.
  20. perfectly accurate paraphrasing of what you said though, isn't it? "Ford have apparently come out and said "nah, that just a recommendation"" vs "the ford towing speed is a "non enforceable" recommended speed and ford have come out and said as such apparently".
  21. That's unreal. Go the Supra!
  22. No mate, it's a criticisim of the driving physics, not the crash physics. Fit slicks (Racing Hard) and racing suspension to a Porsche (RUF RGT) and touch a ripple strip at the apex of a high speed corner and it goes into a slo-mo rollover. That's the quality of GT6's driving physics. I can't say I've ever seen a porsche demonstrate that tendancy int he real world. Nor the forward somersaulting Fiat with brake upgrade and slicks. Again, that's the driving physics. But by all means, when I see the Fiat Arbarth 500's doing forward somersaults at the next Bathurst 12hr, I will retract the scathing criticism of GT6's physics model. Until that happens, this is unquestionably the least realistic version of GranTurismo. There is no exaggeration in that, whatsoever. And they are just two of many examples.
  23. that's right, it is just a game. perfect for a boiracer forward somersaulting cars and slo-mo rolls in a porsche with slicks are not minor little things in a "Real Driving Simulator" that's been making a big deal about its new physics model. It's the worst GranTurismo by a long way. Stupidly easy in races and licence tests, way too much grip factored into every tyre, really poor modification modelling. It's little more than an arcade racer for 12yo boys now.
  24. I'm with Warps. GT6 can stop trying to call itself a simulation. If you put racing slicks and a brake upgrade on a fiat, it will not do forward somersaults in downhill braking areas (eg at Bathurst Forest Elbow). Also, if you put slicks on a porsche it will not go into a slow motion roll over if you touch a ripple strip at high speed. "Simulation" my arse. GT6, your new physics model is a POS!
  25. hmmm, most of the reasons I liked Mercedes are now gone...
