  1. Yeah I know, a lot of things are overkill...but they spin a whole lot of crap about how much better the expensive stuff is, I guess people just believe them, a lot of us being those people!!! I was quite happy to go with the cheap copper plugs until he explained to me why the Platinums were better...made sense to me so I bought them!
  2. Sounds a bit odd if you have no bleed valve or anything.... Mine has same mods as yours and reads nothing near that much...I'd be lucky if mine runs 0.5 bar, judging by the electronic boost controller anyway! Don't know how accurate they are...
  3. Yes it is a waste of money, but if you want your car to run nicely and not #*&% up, then why be tight...if you spend that much on a car, you look after it!
  4. Mine fluctuates anywhere between 320 - 350 usually, if I'm country driving it goes up to about 400. It must have been a fluke the other night to get 400km from the tank...must have been all of the 100k roads, hey?!!
  5. Shannons are definitely on a case by case basis, I have a clean history and good rating and they were really helpful but because I'm 20 they quoted me $4,000. I think I'll be sticking to Just Cars though guys, I was seriously considering Famous, but as JimX said there are a few holes in the policy that I'm not happy with and I want my car insured "just in case" I have to leave it somewhere at some stage!!
  6. I paid $18.50 each for mine at Autobarn.
  7. I can't believe it!! After the caining my car got on the Adelaide cruise the other night, I got 400km out of my tank of fuel!! I've come to the conclusion...I need to drive my car harder!!
  8. I've got NGK Platinums and I'm happier with them than the crappy copper ones that were in my car when I got it!! I've heard that Iridium doesn't make all that much of a difference...
  9. Same Busky2k, I put a tube of Nulon in a few weeks ago and I haven't noticed a difference. I was told to use Castrol Syntrax in my gearbox, but everyone else seems to use VMX80. Maybe I'll try it seeing as I've already bought it and see how it goes. The guy at Autobarn said it was better for gearboxes in high performance cars..but u never know whether to believe them or not!!!
  10. My alarm works with my turbo timer too. When I take the key out of the ignition, the car stills runs but I can use the remote to lock the doors and as soon as the car turns off, the immobiliser and alarm activate instantly.
  11. Thanks hip, I hope thats a compliment and not a bagging!!!!
  12. I say good job too Rob! Am very much looking forward to the next one, now that I know some of you guys!!!
  13. Good cruise guys, thanks to those who introduced themselves!! Much appreciated!! Where did everyone end up? Stopped to answer my phone on Main North Road and then everyone was gone!!! Made it to Holden but no one was there so we went home!! Good turnout, no trouble - can't wait to see the photos!!
  14. Those numbers are the date, the Japanese have a different counter for years to us which is why it doesn't resemble a date really!! I think its 11 July but I could be wrong. My b/f bought his 32 GTR with 56,000 on the clock but there was a sticker on the battery saying it had been replaced at 99,000kms. Its inevitable, they've all been wound back!! My odometer stopped at 59,999kms a few months ago. My b/f pulled it out, fiddled around with it and its worked ever since...no idea!!

    idle

Mine idles as a5h said too, revs really high until it warms up. My car was running really sluggishly (had been since I bought it and no one could find the problem), we changed the plugs and cleaned the throttle body, which mind u, was caked with black sludgy crap and its idled higher and lost its flat spot since then! It may have made a little bit of a difference when u cleaned the throttle body out..?
  16. I want a t shirt! They'd look niiice )
  17. 32 GTRs were definitely produced until 94, my b'fs is a 94 except there doesn't seem to be many of them around.
  18. Thats some bad damage, that sux. My b/f (32 GTR) and I have left our cars in town, at shopping centres etc and they've never been broken into yet...touch wood. I'm just waiting for the day.
  19. Me too!!
  20. I think that'd be a problem in pretty much any car wouldn't it? I don't have that problem, I have those little side visor things that seem to come on so many Jap imports, maybe put some of those on!
  21. Mine does the same thing as PuppaDuck's, but only very rarely. It the thrust bearing definitely the cause of this? Cos if it is, I want to get it changed, its sooo annoying when it does it!
  22. I reckon a lot of those cars in Faz Toyz are consignment cars, a few of them have been around Adelaide for a while, such as the 200 and the R34. Thats 34 was at Redline Motorsport when I bought my car 12 months ago....
  23. Yep I'd say so too, by looking at my b/f's it had the airbag sticker on the visor but a standard GTR steering wheel, I've seen a couple of others like that too......
  24. Yeah Nozila I've seen Faz Toyz, it officially opened on Saturday I think... I've been keeping an eye on it for the last month or so!!!
  25. From my experience, R32 GTRS dont have airbags. They do have an airbag safety warning badge thing on the underside of the driver's side visor but they never actually came with one....Figure that out....
