No one sells the battery tie down anymore, so i decided to make one myself. Its 4 components. The J-rod, i purchased online. Then the main bar that goes across, then the 2 L-shape bracket to hold the battery in place. The L-shape brackets are adjustable to fit many different sizes of batteries.

How do you connect the real dash app to your ECU?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I see the holes in the a-pillar, i know what you mean now. I was also worried about changing my mind and having holes around my dash and a-pillar.

R34 GTT on Haltech ECU No MAP Input
kevboost7 replied to tsyk3s's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
That’s relieving to hear. I can sleep better at night now. what happened is that I was in the car with my buddy while he was on the computer. we were driving and he would change some setting and ask me to try it, then I would try to floor it but it wouldn’t go past 4000 rpm’s so I let off. we did that about 20 minutes, then I realized that he didn’t know what he was doing so we stopped -
Dang... that motec dash is really nice 😍 how are you liking the double din setup? was it difficult to move the climate control to the top? i hear that some double din allows you to display the gauges on the screen and what did you do with the OEM triple cluster?

Do you miss your old analog dash at all?

Do you guys have pictures of your setups? Need some inspiration..

R34 GTT on Haltech ECU No MAP Input

Thanks for the answer, although now i wish i never asked... this is one of those situations where ignorance is bliss. But yes, that is exactly what was happening, it felt like a rev limiter. -

R34 GTT on Haltech ECU No MAP Input
kevboost7 replied to tsyk3s's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have a question, lets say hypothetically, i tried driving the car without a vacuum source/hose connected to the haltech internal map sensor. What is happening to the internals of the car? I'm asking that because i did the same thing and tried to go for a 20 minute drive to mess with the tuning software and i could never rev past 4000 rpm. I switched the haltech ecu back to the factory ecu until i take the car to a dyno/tuner, but i lay in bed at night wondering if i caused any damage by doing that. -

What turbo setup are you guys running? -

Haha, very true, especially this time of year, definitely cuffing season. But thanks, i will do this when i get a chance. -
Oil Leak on exhaust downpipe from turbo

Additionally, if i'm going to have to remove the turbos, would this be a good time to go to a single? 😀 -
Oil Leak on exhaust downpipe from turbo
kevboost7 replied to kevboost7's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes, the leak is coming from the front turbo, but i did some research and came across numerous videos where they mentioned that if a turbo is leaking; a common misconception is that the seals are bad, which is not true, because the turbo seals are more like piston rings and there are oil guide channels that sling the oil away from the seals. But this was generic turbo information and not specific to the RB26. There isn't too much information on the internet regarding the twin turbo setup on the RB26, so was curious if anyone else has experienced this issue. Or if there was commonly known issues that you guys know and could share with me. -
yeah i guess you are right, i'm just not sure if it was reversalbe. Regarding the turbo leak, you think i have to remove the front pipes regardless? this is my first time ever diagnosing an turbo leak issue

I have a AEM wideband sensor that i was trying to put on the car and thought i had to weld a bung onto it. When i got under the car i noticed that the de-cat pipe already had a bung on it. It looks like an autobahn88 pipe with a bung near the rear. Now i measured it and its not 36" away from the turbo outlet or whatever, its probably closer to 46". Do you guys think it will be okay? Here is the pipe. the bung is near the back of the pipe towards the rear exhaust tip.

Hi guys, its me again. I was underneath the car today because i noticed oil on the garage floor. I did some spirited driving yesterday and noticed the oil this morning. After tracing the leak, i found that its coming from the exhaust side. It's dripping down the downpipe. It looks like its coming from the front turbo. Any ideas what this could be? #1 is the front turbo and you can see the oil leaking down #2 is the rear turbo and its dry Everything up top on the engine bay looks clean

Photo of bracket for G-Sensor ?
kevboost7 replied to kevboost7's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It's actually 2 parts i had to make. 1. Adapter plate for the Do-Luck G-Force Sensor (3D printed). I found that the do-luck sensor was already using 3d printed components so i just removed the 4 screws that holds on the bottom part and created a larger plate to screw into the 2nd bracket. 2. Sheet metal plate that 14gauge mild steel, that bolts onto the 2 studs that the factory G-force sensor bolts onto. And yes, absolutely, the sheet metal plate is just a .dxf file that you can share with any sheet metal manufacturer and they will be able to re-create it for you. And the 3D printed file for the g-force sensor to mount is just a standard .STL file that you can load on any 3D printer. Let me know if anyone wants them, i can share it with them. keep in mind it's specific to the Do-Luck but at this point i can adjust it to accommodate anything. -
Photo of bracket for G-Sensor ?
kevboost7 replied to kevboost7's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thanks again @Duncan i was able to 3D scan the interior section and I made a custom bracket and 3d printed a custom peice to mount to the bracket. Without your photo for reference, i wouldn't have been able to do it. Thanks. -
I have a 1989 R32 GTR, with mainly stock HP and stock engine with stock 5 speed manual. My AWD is not working atm so its only RWD. I have a short throw shifter, but the transmission gets extremely hot. I did some reading and found that this is "normal". I'm just wondering, there is no way that these cars came from the factory and it was normal for the transmission to get really hot and transfer the heat to the gear shifter, to the center console trim panels and radiate heat on my legs...

Installing a Lift in the Garage, will this type of lift work?
kevboost7 replied to kevboost7's topic in General Maintenance
I just looked up a powerbuilt u-jack, in theory that seems like a great tool cause it'll save you time and hassle of having to put the jackstand on. Why do you say its bad?
