Frank has the same weds as Leewah, and Frank has AP 6 pots with 365mm rotor.. Snowy, its hard decision to make, i guess you got no choice but to find someone locally that has them to trial fit them, especially with the size of rotors you have....
-
That's very impressive giant, what sort of boost you running to achieve those figures???
-
FARK ME!!!!!!! THAT LOOKS SCARY...
-
Well done John, great effort.. So how fast did the MX5 go?? Giant takes another win!!!!!
-
And it gets driven regularly, full trim and even has the standard airbox.. I wanted a nice street car, not a race car.... Although a cage would be the smart thing to do considering the times and speeds we're doing....
-
Don't worry Andrew, it will be sorted very soon... And here's another vid of how AWD can't tame 350rwkws ... http://sau.ferni.net/Jacksvids/Sandown25_04_07side.wmv (4.75mb)

Yep, upon later inspection, my camera mount was a little loose... Troy, I like your attitude, there's many who have hit walls and retired, but I know its gonna take a lot more than that to keep you off the track...
-
I see your point, but I gues the footage from PI where your car being very unstable on and off the gas may have suggested that there is an issue somewhere in your suspension setup, so I therefore the question is would it have happened if your car was sorted in regards to stability on and off the gass?? Well i guess we'll never know!!!! Are you sure there wasn't any oil or water which may have caused the lockup??

Another kickass track day by the WRX club, big thanks to all the flaggies and Bec for being event secretary, you looked like a professional!!! Big congrats to all those with PB's, Ferni kicked ass, 1:22 on his first outing at Sandown is outstanding, well done son I knew you could do it.. Brisby did an awesome job, 1:23 in an RB20 shows that its definetly not a disadvantage having a 2 litre, big downer though in kissing the wall, but seriously by watching your footage at PI I thought it was only a matter of time.. Congrats to all the DT's, looked like you had fun and definetly were hiking it at the end of the day!!! I was a little dissapointed in not going sub 20's, there was a bit of traffic in 3 of my 5 sessions so really only had 2 sessions with clear runs. There was also a few scary moments in trying to get to the front of the pack, especially at turn 4, sliding sideways into the ripple strip definetly woke me up, and left a few scratches on my front right rim .. There were a few spectators there to see it aswell, any pics guys?? But I guess my 1:20.2 was enough to stay on top, pipping the datto by 0.3 secs. So being fastest on the day was a bonus... To finish off here's a vid of my fastest lap, geez Sandown is a very bumpy track, the camera is copping a workout.. http://sau.ferni.net/Jacksvids/Sandown25_04_07b.wmv (41mb) Enjoy...

What Would You Gtr Owners Do: Trust T517z Or Garrett 2860r?
JAGR33 replied to JUN R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hardly.... I don't get cut from people who make claims without backing them up, it just proves my assumptions of them... You claim that the T517's are much better than the 2860R's that you have tuned in the past, I asked to see a comparison, assuming that you actually have tested both... still waiting.... I'm discussing my comparison with facts, your just talking out of 'insert YOUR username here'..... Prove me wrong so the discussion can continue with merrit.... Will have to go back to Ben from Racepace and tell him he's not doing a good job on my car.. That is all.... -
Oh well, may aswell try and get 20 points this round, as I'm going to miss the next one in June... The lil 20 will do well, PI proved that...

LOL, maybe its all those years of experience you have in tuning and building rb26's...for free.... -
Which Coilovers Would You Choose?
JAGR33 replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sydneykid, comparing a v8 supercar to a 'club sprint' car is not only wrong but vague, each car is built for different purposes, but lets keep the discusion going and be more 'realistic' in your above mentioned assumptions.. Now to be specific I'm assuming your comparison involves 'us' VIC guys with unlimited modified GTR's.. - 'They have similar, if not more power than a V8 supercar', the majority of our cars run 350rwkw (excluding Ben Racepace), not sure what that equates to flywheel power but a v8 supercar has 463kw at the flywheel. I'm sure our cars don't have more than 463kw at the fly.. - 'They are 4wd, not 2wd', yes this true.. - 'They have similar, if not superior brakes to a V8 Supercar', a 10k brake package (our cars, front and rear) is not superior to V8 supercar brakes in which calipers alone a worth 10k, just for the fronts!!!... - 'With similar weight', umm no, V8 supercars are 1350kg, our cars are 1600kg, a major diference.. - 'Having spent as much as a used V8 Supercar', not sure where your going with this but as you would know, performance don't come cheap.. And how about some of the more important factors in which you may have accidently left out: - Tyres, comparing R-compound tyres to full slicks - Drivers, comparing a hack like me to a professional race car driver In the above assumptions that I have outlined may contribute to why our cars are not as quick as V8 supercars, maybe a fairer example would be to compare a V8 supercar to a Gibson Motorsport R32GTR, although there is about 15 years difference in technology.. And finally about your comment reagarding Sandown, yes I agree its a horsepower track, but to say its not a handling track I think is a little far fetched. To go very fast around Sandown (I'm talking sub 1:20's), there is a lot of ripple strip jumping, a suspension with short travel and the inability to absorb bumps at speed will throw the car off the track.... I'd be inclined to say that you'd need less suspension at PI than you would at Sandown, coz of how smooth PI is.. Correct me if I'm wrong... P.S The above comments are not meant to slag or harm anyone, I aplogize in advance if I have... -

Sydneykid, I was more interested in this car, curious to see what times it does to have never been beaten.... -
I'm taken...

Which Coilovers Would You Choose?
JAGR33 replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Actually, I was talking about YOUR car, isn't it an R32GTST with 220rwkw and YOUR Bilstein kit???? I may be incorrect but remember reading it in a previous post... The car your talking about in the above post is a full race car (assuming slicks, correct me if I'm wrong) with Proflex shocks (huge $$$), cage etc.....correct me if I'm wrong again.... So I guess giant on these forums should be happy with his time when he did a 1:06 on a drying track on his first time there??? Mind you its a full weight N1 turboed car with Tein Super Streets (Aussie Spec) on R compound tyres... I guess 'Jap crap' suspension isn't bad after all... -
Which Coilovers Would You Choose?
JAGR33 replied to PSI_GTSII's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well the only car from SAU we hear about going really fast in NSW is the zed from UAS, there are hardly any GTR's that are as fast as him except for a guy GTRJason on the forums. Look at the SAU Circuit Times thread and you'll find no cars that are on par with the above mentioned cars. If there are any faster GTR's, they obviously are not linked to to SAU... In Nov last year quite a few Vic guys went up to EC for some fun, the fastest Vic car did a 1:45, compare that to what most GTR's do there, and don't forget it was his first time aswell.... -

Care to share what sort of times your car does at the tracks in NSW??? -
What Would You Gtr Owners Do: Trust T517z Or Garrett 2860r?
JAGR33 replied to JUN R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Now your insulting me, I know what turbos went on my car, and they weren't the 10cm version... I'm very interested in seeing how the T517's are making much more power than mine at those speeds, how many GTR's have you done with the T517's and the 2560R's??? Dyno graphs will prove your claims, so get them up, surely you must have at least one graph after all the GTR's you've done?? -

JAGR33 replied to JUN R33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
In what way are they 'far' better?? I have results showing otherwise, with a big difference in midrange... bush bearing turbos versus twin ballbearing turbos.... For example, at 128km/h in fourth gear, my car was making around 160rwkws with the T517Z's(8cm), and with the 2860r-5 is now making 240rwkws.... I know which setup I'd prefer.... Care to show us your comparison???? Go to post #29 in this thread for mine.... -
Totally agree, look at Starionturbo's post (#18) and you'll see how this thread went downhill from there....

The STIG does not reveal his secrets!!! Don't think anyone has ever asked???

Jennifer Hawkins has the hots for me, that's my opinion.... The above statement is basically what your posts come across as, you work it out, if you can.....
