The results are in!!! Tomei Poncams installed and tuned...
JAGR33 replied to JAGR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The car I'm talking about here is ph1's old car, sold to a guy in Melb, which had 346rwkws... But that was tuned around 3 years ago, Ben (Racepace) has learnt a lot more since then!!!! -

Yorik - I know of a local car running exact same setup as me but with 10.8mm lift 260 Procams, not sure on power output, but these cams obviously need modification/machining of the head to accomodate... Be interesting to see your results.... -

rob 82 - sorry no graph of power vs torque ferni - yeah cooler pipe sorted, especially after about 20 runs on the dyno!!!! purple32 - cheers mate, will have to organise a cruise soon.... williamsf1 - engine has forges pistons and metal headgasket, about 2,000k's old... intersted to see how you go with your setup, keep us posted!!! Morgs - contemplating on taking it out to see what time she pulls, although my car is a dedicated track/circuit car, and also don't want to munch the gearbox.. I know, excuses, excuses!!!!! pnblight - thanx mate, thought I'd chuck in the last graph for you westies to understand and compare.... -

williamsf1 - I'm not too sure with cam settings, but I'll find out and report back... These turbos are rated at 320hp each.... R32-GTS - boost is set at 20psi ferni - just wanted to 'enlighten' people to the differences in dyno graphs getting around the forums.... I'll have to take u for a burl on the next track day!!! -
UAS have them for 33 GTR only, looks sweet.....

Beer Baron, just with the cam install (no tuning) I think the power went to 348rwkws, will have to confirm with Ben.... I know he definetly tweaked with the cam settings and tuned to suit to get the 365rwkws... Not sure with cam gear settings either, but he definetly played around with them.... -
Finally got the Tomei 260 duration with 9.15mm lift (IN/EX) Poncams installed and tuned yesterday.... I must say that these were are worthy upgrade, not only did it make more power from Idle to rev limit, but also brought the power on earlier!!! Mods include common upgrades (PFC, 720cc inj, Nismo AFM, full exhaust no cat standard dumps , 044 pump, Trust T517Z8cm2 turbos etc...) Power before cams: 335rwkws (20psi) Power after cams: 365 rwkws (20psi) Very happy with the result, was expecting around 15rwkws increase so to get an extra 30rwkws was music to my ears!!!! Trying to dig up the old dyno sheet (335rwkws), but here's the new one for now.. [/img] Now to really impress all you guys I got Ben (Racepace) with a lot of arm twisting to do a run in 'shoot out' mode... With my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) shootout mode has a different inertia setting (100 compared to 0) and also adjusts the air and intake temps.... Here's the result: [/img] WOW!!! Where did the extra 31rwkws come from???? Reason for this graph to try to point out to Stacey (two.06l) what the difference between 'shootout' and 'non-shootout' figures are... And finally for pnblight and all the boys out west: [/img] Dyno figures to me are more of a tuning tool, not to show how big your wanger is as each dyno is different to others. As long as you keep using the same dyno to monitor gains/losses through ugrades, and more importantly to make sure ur engine survives!!!! P.S No harm inteneded in any way, shape or form to anybody mentioned in this thread.....
-
pnblight is right, I have heard of many stories of turbine wheels calling it a day and ending up in the sump.... CEFIRO_PWA - In most cases the exhaust wheel ends up in the cat, but the front wheel can go the other way!!! P.S pnblight, I have a surprise for you, stay tuned!!!!

Which dump/extension pipes to buy for bnr32
JAGR33 replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
mmm, sounds impressive... Not so much interested in more power, but 400rpm earlier boost build???? I LIKE!! Do you reckon this will be the case with Truck (Trust) turbos??? Being bush bearing, they may not respond aswell as the N1 ball bearing turbos?? -

SK - what sort of improvement will the Trust front/dump pipe combo make over the standard dumps if your running bigger turbos?? -
Gibson Motorsport??

Yeah Adrian that's the thing though, at Winton after I came in to tighten up the clamp, the car was fine the rest of the day.. Since then Ive been to Calder and Phillip Island, with no such problem whatsoever.... First flying lap yesterday, BANG, it comes off, and did so for the other 4 outings on the track..... So yeah you could say I was fed up.... Problem will be fixed with all the clamps replaced with decent thick ones, not the crap original ones.... Seems like it won't hold full boost in 4th gear..... Can't wait for the next track day!!!!!
-
Yep, they were fastest on the day....
-
Intercooler hose kept blowing off in fourth gear, 5 times in a row!!! Only done 6 laps in the whole day!!!!
-
Ni - that time was set by Ben (Racepace), although there was a very tough white R32 GTR keeping him honest all day!!! Although that car is much lighter than Ben's (cage, no interior etc..) It also got a 1:17, or maybe a 1:16, not sure....
-
Oh yeah, forgot all about Chris!!! Aaron, very impressive time considering you have bugger all mods on your car, must be the driver!!!! Yeah clutch is a bit aggressive, good for holding the power though.....
-
As far as I know: Me - 1:29 (1 timed lap for the whole day, retired early) INASNT - 1:33 Roy -1:25 Snowy - 1:22 wwwrrxxx - 1:22 Frank - 1:20 (retired early) RPMGTR - 1:17 Correct me if I'm wrong.... Not sure of Ant95GTR and any other TEAM WANGERS.....
-
Hey West, yeah that was me in the silver R33 GTR who broke down in front of you guys, just wasn't happening for me... Looks like you got some good views from there... Well done in helping out as flaggie

Denham, I gave Ash the money but I forgot to get it off you guys.... Brisby rang me an hour ago and said he'll pay for the fuel tomorrow.....
