Aftermarket BOV, performance or wank factor
elbee111 replied to hypntk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well, the original title of the thread asks if "aftermarket" is performance or wank (versus standard I assume). I always thought it was wank only, but am happy with the aftermarket now. Definately feels smoother and quicker in the changing up for mine. As per my earlier post, I doubted it but am now convinced. The original may have been faulty or somehow adjusted I don't know. Aftermarket BOV, performance or wank factor
elbee111 replied to hypntk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
OK. Old fart talking now. I always thought that a BOV was just wank wank. My wife talked me into one (actually had it installed before I knew about it). Well I am now convinced. It seems to be smoother/quicker on gear change (might be something to do with not putting back pressure on the turbo ??) Anyway, I am happy with it. Especially because it is a GFB stealth and I can turn it down (it is adjustable for both pressure and plumb back ratios). Enjoy! El Bee -
Yep, Turning right on roundabouts give me the shits. El Bee

My understanding is that the bolt offset issue is to do with the use of the water pump for a VL Commodore. Mine has been fitted with one of these (way cheaper) and I have trusted the mechanic's advice that the bolt isn't even needed. I assume if your water pump warps enough for one bolt to be an issue then you have more serious trouble to worry about. El Bee

Use the bends and that is exactly what it is eh ! Enjoy

Still looking for an intercooler COD. Do you think I could possibly get away with dudding you after the rukus I have made wanting to stick to the original deal ?? I think I would be run out of town if I didn't honour my side of the bargain (and rightly so !). El Bee *edit* Hey I do have a fair bit to lose as I have been a member of this forum for a looooooong time and am a financial member of SAU NSW. I value this. I see you have been around for about six months now. All the best.

You can take the front lens off but I wouldn't. Mine had a run from some sort of solvent and they were smokey/foggy looking. I was convinced that the front was as clean as it could get and the inside must be dirty and so I took one apart (after buying a nice pair from a 4 door). It is a big job to get one apart and is going to be a bigger job getting it back together. I will be trying the various cutting compound type products now (watching this space for the best performer). El Bee

I would have thought your Business would have enough Capital to cover the costs of buying your stock but I suppose that is your business. I have bought an intercooler from this forum a couple of months ago for almost exactly the same price and paid COD for it. This cooler was to be for my Son in Law to be. It is not my money but my principals won't allow me to bend on this. El Bee Looking for someone with the Hybrid copy coolers COD.

Yes. That is how I feel and, yes, that is fine. I am not a fool. I do understand English and also the ways of business etc. I have given you my personal details and put in writing my intentions to purchase an item of your merchandise. You responded that you received such request and all was good. You then decided to apply a condition of sale that I pay 50% in advance. (I'd like to see other businesses try this one) To make a new contract one of us had to have broken the original. Wasn't me mate. El Bee Not happy. Hope your other customers are.

I still don't care who you are, or that you run a Business registered in Australia. You declared on 25 May that all intercoolers were accounted for, and then 27 May you were asking for 50% deposit in a personal email. I thought this fact needed to be made public. I am not about to pull out of the deal as originally specified, but you want to change the deal midstream. Others can think what they like (whether this is fair or standard business practice etc) but I think that you are trying to breach a contract. El Bee

By the sound of it I am one of those that pulled out. My fault of course. What annoys me is that my understanding of COD is that you pay for it when it is delivered. I will not pay for anything before it is within my reach. I don't care who you are. Part of an email sent out by you 25 May as follows: "Hi, and thanks for your order for the front mount intercoolers. The intercoolers will be leaving China this Friday (May 27th) after unexpected delays and should arrive in Australia around the 10th of June. We will now however require 50% of the money before the items are sent out (other 50% will be left for COD). All 50 coolers from this first lot have been accounted for and you are getting this email to confirm that you have made it on the list." It sounds like over half of your original respondents were as surprised as I was. I would still like one of these COD but you will not be getting anything in advance. El Bee

The canister that you circled is on the passenger side. *edit* Are you saying that the pic is of someone elses car and your canister is on the opposite side to the one shown ?
-
The canister is on the passenger side. You are going to make the hole in the drivers side. Have a look at your own pics. Enjoy El Bee

Here we go. Please make up your mind who you are upset with. Is it the Communists (haven't seen any legislation by them of late), the Labour Party & Bob Carr or Peter Costello (He was a Lib last time I looked - I think you mean Costa or whatever his name is). Mate, I feel for your situation but don't go getting into the party political bullshit because it doesn't help. If you think the ultra conservatives that we have in Canberra would do different I would like to hear your reasoning. With the aging population, they have reacted to the death toll being over-represented by P Platers. It is that simple. El Bee

FREE rb25det bottom end
elbee111 replied to dnb's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I would have said the only catch is that it is in Wollongong. (would cost you the price of a couple of your engine manuals to get it to Melbourne) :uh-huh: El Bee -
As advised, they come in silver and other colours. The "stealth" part is the ability to basically turn them off. You can adjust how much plumb back and the pressure this occurs from memory. Now, if only I could be bothered to open the bonnet and turn it down every time I drive it (My Wife likes to make a little noise). Enjoy! El Bee (I must be getting old eh)

Have also done this a couple of times. I have memories of screwdrivers, leverage, a lot of cursing and a little blood (optional). You'll get there. El Bee

Hey aleko69, As others have said, I am surprised that you didn't have the excess fuel pop before. What sort of dyno run was this. Tune or power only ? El Bee

Gday rincewind, Get yourself a loan and go for it now. Life's too short to be looking and wishing and wondering while you are waiting. But now you want do drive one of Nissan's finest with an ugly stick on board ? Whatever. Can't help you there. Enjoy. El Bee

Gee. That's a big statement. Mine had the standard troubles with the filler neck not holding pressure, due to a slack conversion for compliance. Once I fixed it with Sikaflex there has been no odour at all since. If you can see vapour on a warm day in your drivers mirror it could be the same problem. El Bee

This talk blows me away as I play minesweeper at least a few times a week. My best is 238 secs for expert. I would have assumed that I could proudly display this for the world to see. Now less than 100 is WTF! material to me. How many random clicks does one do to get in this ballpark ? I normally click 6 random squares before settling into the game proper. El Bee
