I just thought of this & thought I’d let you know, the good news is the above camshafts do exist, but will they snap? get the specs off the Kelford “turbo” cam from golbeys & regrind your genuine one to those specs. clivecams, surecam & Marshall custom cams do reginds. -

Turbosmart = wack 😩 you want either Tial mvr 44mm ( pic 1 ) or their v band mvr 44mm ( pic 2 ) otherwise it’s the gfb ex44 - 44mm ( pic 3 ) or ex50 - 50 mm.( pic 4 ). -
Have you put a multimeter on your spark plug leads? They should have 5 ohms. if they have less than 5 ohms there rooted 👌

Freshly Rebuilt rb25det no compression!!
FiXtUrE replied to Driftieboy's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Do you know if the motor had comp & was running before you swapped your neo head for it? to me it sounds like it’s a rb25de converted to rb25det. Check engine number to see if this is the case. if it is de… I’d say it’s still running the de piston & rings, that aren’t sealing the comp for the turbo setup. -

1/2 the problem is the silo & ti front bars don’t hand the side duct for hr31 side mount. Your gonna have to go a fmic no matter what, but that equals less boos for an auto setup. -

FiXtUrE replied to VL_Turbo's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Lol… I doubt it’s running 100psi. rb30 with 8:5:1 head gasket + stock mani with spacer adaptor to blolt on rb25 t03 (with ceramic wheel) and possibly stock dump depending where turbo sits + custom mid pipe + r31 house rb20det cat back + hr31 stock intercooler at a maximum 12 psi + nistune should the job with auto (400kw) steel wheel t03 + r32 gtr or r31 house fmic + forgies with big boost, go for your life with manual if you can find a clutch up to the job 👍 -
All det spec motors need de sticks as an upgrade/alternative of aftermarket ones here in Australia. I’m pretty sure after installing them you would run the ignition timing of the de motor then tune. Unfortunately this does not apply to vct motors.
-
Just put r33 spec rb25de sticks in, same spec/profile as aftermarket cams, you don’t need to upgrade your valve train etc.from what I have heard, aftermarket cams snap 99% of the time here in Australia.

Flat out… you did this on an r32?

Regardless to fuel it’s the boost/comp pressure that will determine if it gos pop or not. -

From my understanding you can achieve about 5 - 10 psi with 9:1 - 9:5:1 comp safely before it goes pop.. before you think this wack boost levels, you have to consider the turbo, dump back exhaust, fmic etc your going to use on your rb30. what power do you want, and is it a 5sp or auto? -

8:5;1 comp in ideal for boost. There are copper head gaskets that are custom made if you know the thinness to achieve 8:5:1.. 9;1 comp is fine… but you will be limited to how much boost you can run. Www.coppergaskets.com.au. If your after one 👍 -
R32 with hicas what? For light weight purposes if that’s what you’re after, you would do the subframe swap, remove hydro pump & lines etc and sussy bits and pieces. just get a lock bar mate 👍
