  1. It's pobably been about two to three years since I had the fluid replaced and the system bled so that could be an issue.
  2. I have been told that the tyres are very soft compound, however they have now done 3 track days (with plenty of use on each) and I am confident of getting another track day maybe even two out of them. Maybe the fact that they are old stock has hardened them up a bit. For $500 odd dollars a set I would buy more if they were available. As for the brake pads, they are “Racebrakes” RB74 fronts and comp 2 at the rear. The discs are still the standard ones with over 55,000km on them so I think that’s the problem.
  3. Antone get pics of my black S15?
  4. Tempted. How many people from here going?
  5. Great day, heaps of track time, wet and dry conditions and nice cold temps for the tubos. My only problem with the cold temps was that by the time my tyres were up to temp my brakes were overheating, (dam standard brakes!) Thanks to the organisers, well done.
  6. Looks like there will be close to 10 people at this meet up point. For those meeting here, please be on time. We are going to have some people meet us on the road so we need to leave on time.
  7. Is it skid pan only or does it include the figure 8 track? The figure 8 track is heaps of fun.
  8. I usually fill up the day before so I don’t have to worry about chasing fuel so early in the morning. We will stop at Marulen BP which is about 20 to 30 minutes or so before the track. This will give everyone a chance to fill up with premium (BP Ultimate 98 ron) and get snacks and drinks if necessary. There is even a Hungry Jacks and a Diner if you want breakfast. This way everyone gets to the track with a full tank of premium.
  9. I know its an old thread but I have been OS for the past few weeks so I missed much of the chat. When I got back a guy from the Autospot forum had sent me this: It's some of my runs for the day and messing around on the skid pan. Most of the day I just had fun and threw the car around. On the last slalom of the day I took it a bot more seriously. Check out the handbrake turn at about 8:40 of the clip.
  10. For the Circuit Club day at Wakefield we met at 6:30 am and left at 6:45 stopped for fuel at Marulen and arrived right on time for their 8:30am registration. If we leave at 6:15am we should be there by 8:00am driving the speed limit. I don't think that track time starts until 9:00am anyway.
  11. As there has been some talk of a meet up point mixed in with all the chat for this upcoming event, I have started a new thread exclusively for a meet up. New Thread
  12. I thought I would start a new thread as there is a lot of talk about a meet up point which is getting confused with general chat about the day. Rather than go back and forward with suggestions please consider the following: For those who want to cruise down to Wakefield together, I can meet at Casula Bunnings car park at the cross roads from 6:00am leaving at 6:15am SHARP. This is located where the Hume Hwy splits into Camden Valley Way and Campbelltown Road. The big white building in the centre of this map: Map I think this is a good spot as it is near the M7 and M5 so is convenient for those coming from most parts of Sydney. It is also easy to get on the Freeway and head to Goulburn from this point. Post or PM if you want to meet up from here.
  13. I'm glad to hear that you were doing 1:09s as I just could not keep up with you no matter what I did. At least now I know I never had a chance. I will keep your track day in mind.
  14. This question has probably been answered but with 18 pages it may be hard to find. The first post states that passengers are allowed, however, what is the cost for passengers and do they need a CAMS or Wakefield licence just to be passengers?
  15. Had a great time and plenty of track time as always with the Circuit Club days. Nerada from Circuit Club was true to his word and SAU had the first five garages in pit lane (although we only ended up using 4). Monie, I didn’t realise it was your car Josh was working on, or I would have come and said hello. How come you weren’t driving it? Tim, you seemed to be getting quicker each session, well done. Both you and Chris are welcome to ride in my car anytime. I guess you aren’t recommending those tyres anymore? Andrew, good to meet you. It was fun trying to keep up with your car. Alan, thanks for letting me borrow your transponder. Next time I will have figured out how to use it properly. I somehow ended up in group A and had a ball trying to keep up with some seriously fast cars. I even had one of the race drivers give me some tips. The run home was great until Campbelltown, then all of a sudden it stopped? All in all a good day and looking forward to the SAU track day next month.
  16. All is set and 5 garages have been set aside for SAU. If the weather continues like this we will realy need them. I will meet some of you at the meet point and the rest at Wakefield. Just look for the very standard looking black 200sx (with Skyline wheels). If your coming to the meet point, be on time as I will be leaving from there at 6:45am sharp. I will only be contactable via the forum until this afternoon (Friday).
  17. Update 2: I’m in. My car is ready to go. I have been in contact with the organizers and they will give us up to 5 garages if I supply the names of people coming. So, anyone who is coming, please PM me your full name so I can reserve you a garage. Sign in at the track is at 8:30am so an early start is required.
  18. A few updates. Spoke to my mechanic this morning and it looks like I will be able to attend. I will know for sure by lunch time. Scathing has generously agreed to share his timing equipment with us (if time allows) so we can each get a few timed laps. That being the case we can have a bit of an SAU fastest lap showdown. For those who want to cruise down to Wakefield together, I can meet at Casula Bunnings car park at the cross roads from 6:30am leaving at 6:45am. This is located where the Hume Hwy splits into Camden Valley Way and Campbelltown Road. The big white building in the centre of this map: Map I think this is a good spot as it is near the M7 and M5 and it is easy to get on the Freeway and head to Goulburn from this point. Let me know who wants to meet up from here and PM me if you want my mobile to co ordinate things.
  19. Too close to the SAU track day for me and I have no spare tires at the moment. I may come and cheer you on Chris.
  20. I assume from your signature that Josh at Pro Concepts is your mechanic. If so this is the perfect event as he will most likely be there with the civics.
  21. I will put you down as a maybe. What needs doing on your car?
  22. No worries Andrew. I should know by today or tomorrow if my car will be ready. If I can’t make it your brother in law can take my spot. The list on the first post has been updated, it looks like there are five SAU people attending.
  23. Are you coming Moanie? or you just moaning? Yes I am organising it from an SAU perspective and unfortunately the response has not been great. So far it seems that besides me there are only 3 SAU members going. I have already organised one garage for SAU and I will make sure this is available whether I make it or not. I will be going as long as I can get my car on the road. The rear suspension is being stripped today, I hope. So should know how serious the problem is soon.
  24. I am now a maybe for this event. Went for a wheel alignment on the weekend and found that something is bent in the rear as I have over 7 degrees of toe in on one of the rear tyres. Hopefully can find the problem and repair before this day. If I make it I will be happy to meet up somewhere and drive down as a group.
  25. That means we are down to only 3 people from SAU for this event. Is no one else up for a track day?
